Couples Married for 0-65 Years Answer: Why Did You Want to Get Married? | Brides
“It was time for him to get married. He was 33. He was old...”
“I was a modern man.”
I’m dead....😂
I never would have guessed he was 91 and she was 81. They both don't look their age.
Went into the comments just to find someone say this and it was the first one lol
Lol clever man
😂😂😂😂😂😂
What does the classics mean ?
“I loved her, and so, why shouldn’t I ask her to get married?” BEST ANSWER
neeno001 yes. Best answer
Totally agree
Agreed! Was the sweetest
neeno001 Marriage is more than love. It’s LEGALITY. You become legally responsible for that person. You need to know much more than people expect to ask.
neeno001 Meh. It's like saying "why not?", which is kind of a non-answer
"Well I was a modern man." Grandpa was living his best life, ok? lol
lmaooo he was
Hahaha lmao!
Love them❤❤❤❤wish i could have something like that i dont mind age gaps❤❤❤
My great uncle and great aunt were married for 71 years before she died I pray for you and others who have lost their on and only
Your boy is 91!! 🙌
Being raised in a broken and dysfunctional family, this gives me hope that marriage might not be so bad after all
Ayla S. Marriage is like life. It’s amazing, but there of course will be tons of struggle and problems.
Ayla S. Lol same I wish the best for you
Ayla S. same, wishing us the best!
Ayla S. Same 😘
Ayla S. Same
Love and respect is the foundation of marriage. I was married for 34 years until my husband pssed away. I miss him everyday. It will never be the same again.
Hugs to you 🤗
Sudeshna Raychaudhuri so sorry for your loss :(
Just because it isn't the same doesn't mean you won't be happy.
I'm 40 and have never been married. I'm very happy as I am but I do wonder about other paths I'm glad yours was so happy
My condolences.
My parents divorced after 22 years of marriage. It's good and uplifting to see these couples who are married for 30,36,65 and years still together!
laczkaeszter what was the reason after 22 years to get divorced what was so bad.
@@Sr68720 well I'm not the original commentator but my parents did so too on their 20 years of marriage... the reason was not just a sudden huge problem.. it was more subtle, step by step they were just walking away from each other and found comfort in another person and activities...
Yeah my parents divorced after 30 years or marriage. This is a good video :)
Yeah, my parents separated after 18 years of marriage
You see an Asian couple that looks, like...23 and it's like "married 22 years", good damn genetics.
Truesky44 they are actually around 40 they mentioned in a video they got married at 18
Black don’t crack and Asian don’t raisin
You cant look good eating junk everyday, our diet is very poor compared to theirs
@@danielle021297 how many other people can y'all say look that good at 40
@@mariahyohannesWell this is about an Asian couple so It's Asian couple so Asian don't raisin
We don't have to include ourselves in everything
“Well I was a modern man!” Lmao that part killed me 🤣 in 2018 a 33 yr old man acts like he’s 19!
So true
😂😁
2:42 No way are they married for 22 years! They look so young!
Asians!
Asian don't raisin
Look at her neck.
they got married young, they said 18. they are only about 40.
Long live Pink Floyd !
The last man - goals 😊🙌
That's the dream; it's really that simple #life
@@twincherry4958 and nika's words right!! That's what I want.
@@wshelby83 that's what we'll get!!!!
@@twincherry4958 I really hope so!! May this wish of ours come true. Real true and genuine love
the most romantic answer was the last one - thats how it should be. Not a "I figured it was time" or any other unromantic reason.
Not everything has to be romantic.
Well said, Angelina.
Marriage is more than romance - but also I see what you are saying
@@idislikemints A reason to marry someone should be romantic lol
Andria A. Maybe not for people who don’t mind being with someone that doesn’t really love them or possibly being miserable or breaking up but I’m sure the reason to be MARRIED should be romantic.
This was definitely not the video I should have watched hours after my breakup :(
Find someone that loves you and wants to marry you!
@@laurengibson748 Easier said than done! I'm nearly 20, and I've never been in a relationship. :'( I would marry tomorrow if I met the right one.
@@beth9603 Great guys are worth waiting for. I don't think you should let your age make you feel insecure about either never having a relationship or not being married yet. I'm 22 single and half my friends are getting married but on the brightside I can travel wherever and whenever I want, still spend holidays with my awesome family, focus on strengthening my friendships, and finish with school. I feel like people look at being single too negatively.
You will be fine! And I mean that cause 6 months ago I too was in your place watching sappy things and feeling the same thing you did 💜
What’s meant to happen will happen. You’re probably better off without them anyways. We’ve all been there and done that, just grow from it and make it a positive learning experience for any future relationships 😊
It's unbelievable that noone said they wanted to marry because they were in love until the last man
That last sentence came from the heart, so beautiful ❤️
It really did. That's a special type of love right there.
It took everything in us to not get married 2 weeks after we met. We knew it was us the day we met. We got married because for us there wasnt anyone else.
@Al Wa 6 years later and still "playing house"
that's like me and my Robyn, we met when I was 15 and she was 16. we knew instantly and got married at 22 and we're both now 25
I resonate with that so much. My bf just got divorced, i just broke up with my bf of 3.5 years.
Under other circumstances this would have made lose faith in true love but love just hit us and we can't wait to get married.
My boyfriend and I just celebrated 4 years yesterday and I’m only 20 & he’s 21. We’ve known since we met at 16/17 and will likely be married before I’m 22. Obviously young marriage is scary, the statistics are scary, etc. but you know when you know. When I was explaining it to my mom I said “maybe we’ll be poor and maybe things will go wrong but he is a man who respects me, is gentle and kind to me, and puts my happiness first. That’s all I could ever really want and all you should want for me” and then she got it
@@caitlinbishop6624 that's just like us!
I think the longer they were married they look more inlove
The last guy reminds me of my future husband. In case you are reading this love, that’s the only reason WE should ever get married!
Thanks for the lovely videos @brides. I adore them.
All the answers were great too.
Rudi the last answer was amazing!
Love is a choice and it is the choice to be committed to one person and doing all that to honour both God and the significant other. So if you want a prince I hope you are a princess.

@@petermbuguanjoroge8038 you were doing great until that last statement buddy
"Well I was a modern man"
They are such a cute couple ☀️
5:34 Married for 65years " I loved her, why shouldn't I ask her to get married" ❤❤ Those are so hard to find nowadays
So sweet ☀️
Marriage stresses me out so much. I want to be making six figures before I get married. I’m getting older, 28, and I am so stressed because most of my friends are married already. My family situation growing up was terrible; my parents hated each other and they were polar opposites. Going back and forth between their houses destroyed my childhood and left me feeling damaged in many ways. I vowed I would never marry someone unless I was beyond 100% sure they were right for me; great now I’m too picky. I hope it works out for me and I can have a long healthy marriage.
I actually think this is very fair. And I do not blame you at all.
Don't be stressed about it and don't rush yourself. Just take it slow. Work on yourself to overcome your childhood traumas. Maybe try a therapy. I did it myself for same reasons as yours, highly recommended. The most important for you is to be a happy person, in a good place and with peace with yourself. Only then you can create a happy family. You are still very young, you should wait for the moment when you're ready. Wishing you good luck! ✊
OMG the last couple "I love her that's why I get married her"
Man at 5:25 he looks like he is 60 yo how is it possible that's been 65 years married!
I wish my marriage go to 65 years
eleonora sava his wife clearly lobes n takes good care of him...his doesn't only look young for his probable age which is atleast 85-90 but also very healthy
4:40 A similar situation as my grandparents had. My grandma was 25yo when she married my 35yo grandpa. They stayed that way for about 50 years, until my grandpa died and she followed him a year later. I remember my teenage self actually asking them what their preferred age to die would be. My grandpa actually said, "A year sooner than grandma." And it happened. I also remember my teenage self once asking her if she could do it all again, would she pick the same man? She said, "Hell no!" Still, there was love. I caught them foolin' around once :/ Never have I seen two old people giggle that much.
My parents got married when they were 18 and have been married for almost 40yrs, have seven children and nine grandchildren and are more in love than they have ever been. It's really inspiring.
God bless them 🙏🏼
I love seeing the couples who have been married 18+ years. It will be 4 years in December for my husband and I.
4:14 no way she’s 60
No she’s 64
Hot grandma
Lady at 2:21 can I borrow your hair pls
sameeee
who else is watching this completely alone and single 🤣
How can the Aisan couple be married for 22 years? They look 26 lol :D
They definitely look like they are in their 40s, late 30s at best.
Someone always has to say something negative because of their own insecurities🙄 Like damn, let them have a compliment. Chill.
@@veevee4261 It's really a matter of perspective. I've been living in Asia and grew up around many Asians so it's very easy for me to know their age. Personally, Asians can usually get my age right while western people think I'm 10-15 years younger. On the other hand, Asians generally think westerners look 10-15 years older than their actual age.
4:56 how is he 91 holy cow he looks 80
I wanted to wake up every morning next to her
Best answer ever ❤️❤️❤️❤️
2019
🤩
I want a best friend in my marriage. Not this wild, passionate thing; that always dies out eventually. The strongest love is between people who decide each day to love each other, despite the sometimes stupid or selfish actions of either. I know that's not a popular opinion, but I still think that people who go around chasing "the feeling" their entire lives will find only that such a feeling is fleeting.
I’m crying there’s so much love in these marriages and I hope I too can be with my loved one for a lifetime!
Thank you for featuring a black lesbian couple 😭 the best surprise and representation
Agreed!
They had the best answer.
I soooo look forward to being married. Wow, this was a beautiful and inspiring video. The last couple and the black couple talking about "playing roles" really resonated with me.
0:22 she has the most gorgeous blue eyes I've ever seen!
Her and 2:18
I've witnessed my mom get divorced 3 times growing up and I don't come from a functional family. At 23, I've improved a lot in my relationships with others (platonic and romantic) but it's still hard for me to not feel anxious about relationships and I still tend to not fully let people in. It's a work in progress and I know with the help of therapy I'll continue to improve. I hope one day I can experience the same joy many of these couples feel with another person.
Love these videos man 😍😍😍
“Well, I was a modern man” 😂
It feels so awful watching these couples while you are single af!
4:53 wtf he's 91?
One thing to remember before getting married - ESPECIALLY TO YOUNG COUPLES:
Marriage is a LEGAL THING. It’s the BIGGEST legal contract you can EVER SIGN. You are legally responsible to one another. It’s more than love and a party. It’s LAWS. It’s a CONTRACT.
If you’re THAT in love, wait. If your love is as strong as it is, wait. “But my parents got married at 18 and they’re still together.” Good for them, they’re a minority. NOT the majority. Wait until you have a good job. Live together if you want, but DON’T MARRY UNTIL YOU HAVE MONEY. Not millions, just STABLE, LIVEABLE WORK. Need roommates? Don’t get married. Live with your parents? Don’t get married. Pregnant? Don’t get married unless the above applies.
Trust me.
People shouldn't trust you at all. Statistics prove the exact opposite of what you say. People that wait till marriage with sex (and so moving together) and marry after a short time of being together have way more higher chances of getting happy and way lower divorce rates.
Hold on, why should anyone trust you?😐
Ana Shrugged Did I say anything about sex after marriage? In fact, I implied they had sex after. Also, according to modern statistics, divorce being easier and less stigmatized made them go UP. People weren’t that happy.
twin cherry I literally made the mistake of marrying young. I’m about to be remarried to someone who fits me much better. I didn’t realize the guy I met when I was 16 had so many red flags until it was too late. Now, as a rational thinking adult with life experience, I see that.
And marriage is literally a contract, there’s no “trusting me” on that one. That’s why to divorce you need a lawyer
Why should we trust her/him? Because she/he actually did the research. You should too.
This is beautiful and inspiring. I think all of us wanted to marry someone whom we could spend the rest of our lives with. Some people may think marriage is not a necessity, but some couples who stay together for a long time now think of marriage a significant part of life.
That husband in the elderly couple married for 18 years is the DEFINITION of stubborn. 🤔
loveharrydaily for real !! Lol 😂
Renee is a smart woman.
They should interview the same couples every 3-5 years on the same questions!
the girl in the second couple is so pretty omg her eyes r so beautiful they r literally PIERCING like wow
I've been married for 1 year and I love my husband more and more everyday, we're almost at year 2.
Some of these couples are so classy. I appreciate seeing the older generation speak into our lives especially since so many are afraid to get married. This gives me hope
These older couples look good! I'm impressed aaaand it makes me feel like I won't age horribly when in a happy relationship lol 😘 April 2020!!!!
That second guy looks like Niall Horon with brown hair 🤭
That feeling when you're nearly 20 and haven't been in a relationship or even kissed :-(
Is not that incredible, there is still time.
Don’t worry hun. I didn’t get my first boyfriend til I was 22 and then he married me!
Gives me hope :-)
Don't feel left out. I would have rather be you then to have my heart broken. But wait until the right person comes along hun, you're not missing out on anything. I promise
Very true. I hope you're okay!
The couple married at 41 years are terrific role models! Know what you want and tell the other person. If they are not on the same page, do not waste either of your precious time.
I've been married to my husband for 29 years, the longer we've been together the more bothered I'd get being away from him. We have had our ups and downs while raising our children, but we're very happy together.
I'm 26....still single o.o
TheSnowFoxParty a lot of people at that age is so don’t worry :) You will meet your special someone when you at least expect it. I’m the same age and never thought I was gonna meet my grand love, but here I am happily married for six months now. I met him in the most unexpected way so just keep in mind that all you have to do is to do you for now, and love will happen naturally when your body and soul is ready for it and not chasing it.
Wish you all the best
You are going to meet someone tommorow
“I have to leave my mom’s cooking to get married.” Awee
the lady married for nine months has the most beautiful blue eyes!
The girl at 1:20 has beautiful eyes. Just saying
There are people who knows what they really want in life and one of this is marriage, and there are also people that marriage is not for them even though they are in relationship but no matter what your preference in life is, what's important is, you follow the things that makes your heart happy.
First couple 84 years
I was like
wtf no WAY THEY ARE THIS OLD
Oh okay it says days
In place here..no one gets divorce unless it's something too bad happen so out of 100% only .01% get divorce. Why get married if you are not ready for life together until dead depart us. My parents are married for 55years and I m married happily for 5yrs. Marriage is a sacred unity of two into one. Respect that!
My mom’s uncle and aunt were married for 50 years and he passed away two years ago...My aunt hasn’t been the same, she’s depressed and she cries every night saying that her other half was taken away and there’s no purpose for her to live anymore :(
Woman: "He took a job in the city"...
No one: ...
Me: *proceeds to sing* "Working for the man every night and day!"
Alice Cooper and Philip Seymour Hoffman
"Well i was a modern man" lol..
why in all these videos gay couples are over dramatic
I'm wondering if all the couples are paid actors..
0:00 I thought we were talking about married married couples. They aren't married.
I low-key didn't like these answers.. these people seem like they didn't all do it because they are in love and that makes me sad. some were nice though
Love can be fickle...it takes more than that.
Love isn't the only reason to get married. There are very real world considerations one has to think about.
June Renolt i did watch the whole video. i said they didn’t ALL, meaning a lot of them didn’t do it for that reason but some did.
Don't forget they only give us a peek of their responses 😊
Love is a feeling. Lasting marriage is a commitment. They can overlap but they're not the same thing. Making a life decision based on a feeling is...well I might be biased. But bad idea.
5:01 looks like leonards mom from big bang theory 😂
I'm going to honor you for the rest of my life ❤
HAHAHAHAHAHA "I was a modern man"
Lmfaoooooo
3:32 such an adorable couple!
That first couple is beautiful xx
They are 😭 you can tell how in love she is with her
That couple that has been married for 41 is so similar to me and my husband! We dated for almost 5 years since I was 17 and I was 22 when we got married! (Which was 2 days ago ☺️☺️)
Single guy just passing by...
Why are you single though ?
Crystal Khlaire I’m trying to focus on med school and side businesses, so it’s kinda my fault.
@@DrAdnan There's nothing wrong with that ... I think relationships are overrated. You should focus on your growth as a person prior to being with someone especially in your early 20s. Relationships come n go but opportunities aren't as frequent ...You're a male so you don't have a biological clock to worry about so you have time ... That's my 2 cents , have a nice day 😊
P.S I checked out your channel, great stuff 👍🏼😄
Crystal Khlaire That’s true. Relationships are often glamorized in the media so I feel like single people sometimes have moments where they think the grass is greener on the other side.
Thanks so much! I appreciate the support :)
@@DrAdnan I mean its about the person ... Currently that's my issue , to find the person who isn't a distraction and supports my dreams .... Yup
the girl of the married 9 months couple has such stunning eyes. It seems like they are glowing
Let’s do more of these types of videos! The world could use more of this ☀️
The 9 month couple is so beautiful they just look like 2 little rays of hope how young and happy they are it's beautiful I watch every video for them
It would have been really cool if they included pictures of each couple on their wedding day
This gives me hope. I’ve been married for 4 months but I worry about the future. Sure everything’s great now, but what if we wake up one day and just don’t love each other anymore? Thats what happened to my parents who were married for 20 years, which is why it scares me I think. But seeing this kind of thing reminds me that love can stand the test of time ❤️
Love is an action! :) as long as you're both trying and rooting for each other, love is maintained
"well I was a modern man" lol
They should add how long they've been together like dated ❤️
All of them look so young for their age and beautiful! That Asian couple look like they are in their 20s still!
most of these are unromantic and seems as if they are done out of necessity and because its the social norm lol.
HER EYES ARE SO BLUE WHAT
I find it interesting that the only couple that said it was because of love was the one that has been married 65 years.
this made me cry.. i don't know if i am able to see a future with my 2 and half long year relationship
Have they already asked the question “how long did you date before getting married ?” ?
That last man was so wholesome
Omg the older couples are so adorable I cant!!!
4:26 just look at this guy he's like: I remember it all clearly and that was a good thing to do, I'm still happy with it 🙆
These vids are the best
Lol I gave my husband a time limit too. 😂
“Career was a TEMPORARY thing” say it louder!
If he didnt ask me for a couple of months from there on, i was on to my next month.” Love it. The confidence of her. That is right. Why wait and settle for someone who isnt sure of you

Wowwww. Look at the comparison from 84 days, 9 months, and 2 years. Reminds me of how the President after two terms.
Last one “i loved her thats it”❤️❤️
Wait, 58 year couple guy was 91 when this video was shot? He seems much younger than that.
