I agree completely, watching a real lock down defender like Butler, Leonard, is just beautiful. I think that's a part of the game that the very casual fan may miss all the technique and footwork and athleticism it takes to do what they do. Then you have someone like MR. Williams here who is both an interior disruptor and amazing rim protector, awesome.

Great video Andy. It's great to see a franchise could get the best of a young talent and even taking them to a next level. Giving a player that trust and the time is key. Also, you didnt mention it but having Horford as a methor i guess would help him to reach a higher level as a defender. Overall Williams could read very well the plays, let's see how far he could develope, specially as a offensive player.

Williams can keep up with bigger and more dominant centers. Bam is great but he can only really consistently contain guys who are closer to his size. Williams can keep up with guys like Embiid when they start coming down the lane. I know Bam-stans will attack me for sayin it but it's true and I love Bam. Bam is also a better offensive player than Williams III for what it's worth, but I'm just talkin raw defense here.

Rob Williams will be a Future Draymond Green for Boston, I know Rob will be Great Defender and Inside Presence for Boston's Future Man

Robert Williams III could be an offensive beast as well, he is just a big strong powerful dunking beast. He and Smart make a great dynamic duo and they could make a lob city like duo but they have a great overall team so they can’t otherwise the rest of team won’t do anything

If he's healthy, I think Robert Williams is likely a top 5 candidate for Defensive Player of the Year. Not sure if he can expand his offense.

Robert is a more threatening rim protector then Gobert in my opinion. Just as a warriors fan the way I feel when Robert is on the floor is simply more threatening than when Gobert is on the floor

A suppliment though, at least from free throw line, RW3 has incredibly soft touch. To my perception from following their playoff run this year, RW3 is even a better free throw shooter than J-Brown. That being said, he definitely has potential to develop into a strech big man if Draymond with such horendous free throw performance right now was once a decent open 3 shooter.

I just fear the Kid is going to stay injured a lot. He jumps at absolutely EVERYTHING! He’s always in the air coming. He has got to learn to be effective on the defensive end with his feet on the ground

He has this weird Ben Wallace vibe to him. They both play a little different, but definitely undersized in their position. Not saying Big Ben wasn’t strong, but they both go up against 7 footers with absolutely no hesitation. RW3 is actually my favorite player on the Celtics right now and I hope they treat him right over there.

His blocks are also efficient in terms of sending them back towards his teammates. Dwight during his Orlando days used to block the heck out of his opponents but most of his blocks would send the ball out in the stands. Williams feeds his teammates Offensive Rebounds.

Just me thinking out loud would you do a video on Pelicans potential to be a top 5 offense ? Zion 20 points a game Brandon 23 points a game Cj 21 points a game only if Zion comes back more focused then they will be the next triple head monster or 3 stars on one team

I think smart has a bigger effect on Williams great stats than you realize. Smarts switching, and telling his teammates to switch allowed Williams to stay near the rim way more than most bigs get to. Yeah, all defensive leaders do this, but no one does it like smart. If it wasn't for smart, I think Williams would have gotten exposed more, and he would have had to leve the rim open a lot more.
