I was at the hit me game! For how he carried mediocre teams deep into the playoffs, he did it in a terrible Eastern Conference but the Nets also doubled their win total from the year before he arrived so it's still impressive at all.
He was one of the great players that was able to transform their game as they age gracefully. He got better at shooting to make up for being slower. Added some size to body other guards. He was the field general of that 2011 Dallas team.
He was great. An all time great. If he’s not in your top 10 of pg then your list is trash. He did everything that was needed and was so unselfish that it was actually a detriment to his game. I’m glad he ended up with a ring.
Kidd will always be underrated. He was a true Mr. Do it all, and really did everything for the team. His stats speak even larger volume because he didn't just get a triple double for the numbers like Westbrook- he really did elevate everyone around him.
He doesn't get nearly as enough love as he should, this is coming from a die-hard sixers fan. He was the main reason the nets turned into contenders for those two years and I feel like because the East was weak at the time, those two finals runs get very diminished . Also the situations he had prior to coming to New Jersey also played a part in his reputation being hurt for a bit. Also feel like he gets too much hate at times for his coaching 10 years, he became a head coach fairly early with a old nets team, and this is right before Milwaukee had giannis for who he is now. He’s absolutely a point guard, and he’s the best or second best of all time. Second, statistically, Nash wipes the floor with Jason Kidd. He is a better scorer, passer, playmaker, ball handler, has better court vision, and is so much more efficient that it makes Kidd look like a liability on offense. Jason Kidd made two finals in a row because he played in the weakest East of all time. Conversely, Nash played in the strongest West of all time. Kidd would not have the same success if he played in the West during his prime, that’s a fact. And that Dallas ring might as well not even count, he was carried to a ring in an upset that shouldn’t have happened. Jason Kidd is so inefficient that it’s embarrassing. His FG% and TS% in the regular season and playoffs is lower than Russell Westbrook’s 🤣
He didn't NEED to shoot early on.. now days you have to shoot as PG.. he would developed a shot just like he did in Dallas
Two videos in two days let’s go Andy!! 💎💎💎💪🏾
My favorite Point Guard ever!
this is the type of content andy hoops really separates him from others. SUBSCRIBER since 2017 lol
Another great video Andy. The best PGs make their teammates better and he was top 5 at that. His career is underrated.
I won't ever forget that 06' regular season game where Kidd and Nash were going at it. I believe it went to about 4OTs.That game could be an entire documentary.
Seeing you're video make me remembered about his peak at Nets team in early 2000
Legit miss these “how good was X player videos” I’m still waiting on “how good Mike Miller was actually” for over a few years
Mike miller was a solid player
Elite.
Im glad to hear that how good Kidd was then
Kidd is my all-time favorite player that I grew up watching, so I may be biased when I rank him #4 among Point Guards behind Magic, Steph and Zeke.
Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Russell Westbrook, and John Stockton are all better than Jason Kidd lmao
Lol, Stockton is a top 5, wtf
@@lucasjaramillo3478 I'll give you Stockton maybe, but Kidd has a championship, 3 Finals appearances, Comparable all-time stats and never had a Karl Malone-caliber scorer beside him. Chris Paul, I'd give him the 5th spot. Westbrook, absolutely not. If Kidd wanted to put up triple doubles every night, he could have, but chose to be about winning, unlike Westbrook and his stat padding.
@@javigar133 Stockton would be my 5th or 6th all time Point Guard. I didn't specify this in my original comment because I only mentioned who I would put above Kidd.
Make a “How good was” for Lamarcus Aldridge!
He already did that. Scroll down. He made it about last year around the time he first retired due to a heart problem.
Loved his game from his 1st year :-)
Fav player of all time starting watching him in NJ when I was 11-12 years old
I remember watching him at St. Joe's high school in Alameda, CA. He was unstoppable.
What you can’t deny is he beat whomever was in front of him no matter the gender
No mention of being number 2 in all time assists
10:45 - " Away of basketball he followed ever since he was a Kidd."
Anyway, Kidd was basically the "Magic Johnson" of my childhood. The monicker "eyes on the back of his head" made me a fan of the concept of Court Vision from a young age.
Good content, but normal size PG??? He was 6'4". He was tall for a PG, just not Magic/ Ball height. I'd have been interested in knowing what PG's you have ranked above him.
@The Golden Warriors Yea and that 205 is probably when he was younger. He’s 210+ later in his career
@The Golden Warriors I stand corrected. The average height around his playing time was 6'1-6'2 though. Plus, these averages are means. I wonder what the median is (yes, I'm too lazy to run the numbers).
Andy Hoops with another banger.
Bro should have won MVP in 2001-2002
I remember Kidd more as a player than a coach lol
My all time favorite player. The man that got me into basketball.
You continue to produce such great videos, keep up the great work Andy!
I always say if I was in an all time draft and I miss out on Magic, I’m taking Kiddover IT, Steph, Stockton.. Maybe that’s crazy but I feel like I could completely trust him on both ends
He was the field general of that 2011 Dallas team.
watching kidd was so exciting for me the early 2000’s
He is the second best PG of all time
Regardless of how weak the East was, going to the Finals back-to-back is a major feat to accomplish. He's a legend for sure
He was great. An all time great. If he’s not in your top 10 of pg then your list is trash. He did everything that was needed and was so unselfish that it was actually a detriment to his game. I’m glad he ended up with a ring.
He's been pretty good for the mavs
Kidd looks young and old and the same time lmao
I'm glad more UA-camrs and blogs are starting to give him his flowers.
Probably because he’s a woman beater and horrible father
I love these types of videos 👏👏👏. Pls do more videos about players from the 90s and 2000s
He's top 5 for me
1) Magic
2) Kidd
3) Oscar
4) Isiah
5) The Glove
6) CP3
7) Stockton
8) Steph
Steph at 8…. LOL. Even KG would disagree with that
@@NothingElseMattersJM Steph shouldn't even be on the list cause he's a shooting guard in a pgs body.
The most amazing thing about Jason.Kidd is that he always meet your expectation. That’s not easy.
Maybe the best 2 way pg of all time
He was like Westbrook but made better decisions
Jkidd should had won a MVP
Jayson Kidd unstoppable career in Nets 🔥🔥🔥
Top 10 pg of all time
J. Kidd was always one of my favorite players growing up. Always a solid player in my book.
