We bought a used Vermeer s600tx and love it! The price was right. Didn't want to pay $30-$60k for the newer mini skids. $12.5k with attachments and 2k hours. It needed some work (maintenance) but hasn't broke the bank. Biggest thing we wanted in a used machine was a ride-on/stand-on machine. We have rented a MT52/MT55 that was a walk behind (I'd rather us a shovel). We've rented a Toro and Vermeer 925tx and they were both decent machines. IMO most of the newer stuff is pretty good.
We've tested and studied many mini skids. Ran a Toro TX1000 for a year or so. Was a high performing, compact machine, but the wasn't terribly tough/reliable and was easy to roll tracks off of. Have heard good things about Ditch Witch until recently when the we're purchased by Toro (no surprise) Ended up purchasing a Vermeer CTX 100. We've been running it for 2.5 years now and love it. It is a tough, well designed, and very powerful unit compared to machine like the Toro or Bobcat. Vermeer for the win in my opinion if you have a good dealer.
Can confirm. my mt100 is amazing and a life saver but it does bog down with heavy loads in the bucket and it is very slow. The ditch witches have more Hp on the same size machines and are faster. But they are also much more expensive. The mt100 is a great machine for your first machine. It was the most affordable in my area and gets a ton of stuff done for me. Overall happy with it.

I agree with you on the bobcat 100%. Buddy has a 1550 that's about 3 years old. Being able to lift a pallet of concrete steps off a flatbed truck is strong. (84lbs. x 30 steps and it lifts it off the truck)

Vermeer needs a deeper look. The Hydraulic flow can run serious attachments and look at the motor size. Vermeer is the GOAT Ditch Witch 2nd place. I say that, but will probably go Kubota or Ditch Witch when I buy one
It's your fault I dropped 53 G CAD on a new DW SK800!! And am I glad you talked me into it lol. I hate the electric over hydraulic bs, those joysticks are problematic, my unit has very minimal electronics on it compared to the Kubota, Bobcat, Vermeer, New Holland Plus I couldn't even find any dealers for Toro in western Alberta until it was too late. I wanted a tx525 Dingo because they come in around that 2000 lbs mark and I could use my small trailer to pull it. I am an arborist so my unit is used primarily for clean-up. And the countless chinese units are a complete waste of time for a serious business owner/operator. Thanks dude. Take care
Im not spending the money on an expensive machine just to use it maybe once a week. I don't have a business and am not buying something to make money with. Im buying to make my life easier. My back, shoulders, hips and knees aren't getting any better.
You might be better served with a compact tractor then. The stand on mini can be problematic for bad bodies too. The tractor is cheaper and more reliable but obviously much wider so if size is a factor maybe not a tractor. I’ve got a friend who helps me clean up residential tree jobs and I’m surprised how helpful and easy in the yards it has been. I want a mini skid to complement that and use daily when I don’t have help.
Is he trolling about the Bobcat? Mt 100 is excellent. It makes me wonder if he has actually use it because the Ditch 850 and Kubota SL1000 stalled on me every time I went into a pile of crushed gravel. My list Ditched witch 1050+ Bobcat Vermeer Toro Kubota And everything else.
I like the ditch witch wayyyyy better. Wayyy more comfortable controls and cushions / standing platform. Also MUCH better handles to actually hold on to. Its way smoother to operate. Faster. And overall just a better machine. I think the mt100s are trash to be honest. Night and day compared to a ditch witch
Having run a mt100 for 3 years and bought a vermeer ctx 100 it's not even comparable. I wouldn't touch a bobcat ever again. CTX100 runs circles around it.
@@ColtonDiffley would love to try a vermeer still have not been able to. Ditch witch and bobcat are by far the most popular in my area. The next would be dingo but NOT a fan of those haha
@@tylerm9528kubotas full sized machines have been very reliable it’s just the minis that have some issues. like it being tippy, they’ve needed quite a bit of software updates and i’ve seen that the turbo makes it jerk. still a good machine though no doubt.
Lol what ?? Bobcat is made by Doosan Group of South Korea. John deere Yanmar engines are rebranded and primarily marketed by John Deere, an American corporation also invested in diesel engines and heavy machinery for agricultural and industrial use. Kubota, on the other hand, sells its products under its name in the US. Kubota on top
Definitely considering new holland since they’re closest to me, Toro would be a second contender. Toro makes great equipment, and dealer support has been great but not all toro dealers sell the mini skids. Ditch which third but they’re 2 hours away.
The mt100 is awesome, probably the best controls of the mini skids. Not the best digging into hard pack dirt piles, but it's great with a log grapple. Really wish bobcat would release that mt120 or a bigger model. The 1000lbs the 100 can lift is ok but you always want more.
You have lost your ever-loving mind as a person who is owned ditch witch, vermeer, toro, and bobcat, My guys referred to our Ditch Witch as a Ferrari fast as hell but always broken and in the shop for repairs we have a bobcat mt85 it's the old Ford truck that just starts every single day and goes to work, as to the S70 machines we own two of these if driving on hard surfaces at all they will run circles speed-wise around our mt-85 or our Ditch Witch. We sold our Ditch Witch because it needed constant repairs, we actually snapped the arms on it, and snapped attachment plate multiple times. Bobcat Mt might be a little underpowered, and a little slower, but it stands uo to employee use much better. In closing I would probably put the Bobcat machines somewhere in the above average area, and bring the ditch witch down because of all of the recent repairs I've seen that are not being covered under warranty from Ditch Witch, examples being pumps shearing completely off of the engine, drive Motors completely shearing the sprocket off, hoses rubbing through because routed poorly, emissions issues causing machines to be constantly at the dealer and the dealer not wanting to work on them because they have a Yanmar engine in them.
I had somebody that is working for ditch witch tell to get the bobcat because of reliability issues. And it was the exact experience of my friend who bought a ditch witch . He probably had to bring it at the dealer 10 times for problem they couldn’t fix . I have a bobcat mt100 ( amazing machine by the way you will love it coming from a 85 ) and in 3 years hasn’t been in the shop once .
Bobcat mt100 is probably the best machine I ever owned . Reliable / nice power / kubota engine / simple and well thought out. My friend changed also and he came from a ditch with 1000 that he had nothing but problem with . To me the mt100 is goat status especially for the price compared to others .
nice job - i own a CAT but too big for many resi jobs so Im chatting up the DW rep, or rather he is chatting me up lol thanks for the fun review thumbs up
By far ditch, which is stopped here. The 1550 and 1750 get 90% of everything we need done. We do have a T 65 series bobcat that we use for heavier things and it’s amazing as well but hands-down ditch which is the best.
I have a Chinese mini. After going through it, honestly it as useful toro I had. I paid $2600 for it new from an auction. I ended up putting a little diesel I had in it and did some other maintenance. So let say I paid $5000 for it considering what I have done. Way better expense. Also, parts are easy to get. Read a forum or two.
I've used Kabota, Vermeer, and ditch witch. Ditch witch is hands down my favorite. One thing I would change on it is to have the aux hydraulic button on the boom control like the Kabota. I also kinda liked the dual stick for the drives. The newer single stick is not bad though. Vermeer i didn't like at all. It had the Kohler diesel and it was total garbage. Very low hour machine and it constantly died and smoked like a freight train. Boom control was smooth. Kabota was an ok machine. I hated the drive control on it. It was very stiff and wore my left hand out after 6 hours of use. The boom control was all or nothing. It is very hard to be precise with it. Ok power wise and the platform was the most comfortable. The boom had float mode which was nice. Ditch witch first, Kabota second and Vermeer last for me.
I love my toro 525 diesel with a Kubota engine . The best of both worlds. . small enough powerful enough only down fall is lifting weights..also great little machine and easy to work on .. for your basic repairs and maintenance.. love toro
I run a Chinese machine for landscaping here in Australia, it's a ditch witch knock off. It's decent, all the components are quality brand name stuff similar to big name stuff. Bad points are track system is garbage they wear out too fast and rocks can get into rollers and cause tracks to come off. Bucket hitch plate is weak and tracking speed is bit slow. I used to work as a mechanic so I've no problem fixing things, I definitely agree with the bobcat stuff, we don't have the Kubota here and I worked for Kubota so I know their products are good. China's got some good machines coming out you can buy two good ones for the price of any of the USA made ones, I'd say buy what you can afford.
I think u forgot one the kanga loader they are a beast I have 3 and they work as good as a bobcat or a kubota they can do anything and they are tough and easy with the budget they are awesome kanga usa
Just ordered a skid from China. My use is homeowner. $15,000 vs $40,000 to $60,000. I gambled. We'll see. BTW. Others on UA-cam give them high marks. Shalom/gw
Bobcat is the only one I've ran of these they are very smooth and sure you can bog them when you have plenty of traction... can't trash talk the others but in my opinion it's a mini skid there isn't any of them with any amount of balls they are handy little buggers tho when you need them and every one of them is better than the shovel.
I own a vermeer ctx100 and I personally would flip ditch witch and vermeer. Maybe it's where you live you have a good experience with DW, but vermeer's customer service and availability on everything is literally 100X better than DW in Billings, MT. I couldn't run away fast enough from DW from the time I walked into the door. They basically were forcing me out the door AND I told them I was ready to purchase from them! Never experienced anything like that lol. I've run all the bobcats as well and they are a solid homeowner unit, but absolute garbage for a landscape business. Can't take the abuse and are absolute dogs compared to a turbo deisel.
Growing up working on farms and doing landscaping over 20 years I love bobcat and always will. My mt100 my only complaint is the clearance on the arms one side can't even put a finger in the space when moving causing it to hit the machine. I do like ditch witches as well. definitely amazing machine, wish I had the 3000
Im looking to buy some equips for my hard scaling company but im on the fence between getting a skid steer or a mini one , I like the mini one because they are more versatile and can get in tight spaces does anyone know what would be a good brand to get for paver work
I didn't watch very much of your video before I realized that your research didn't include many videos of owners of Chinese mini skid steers and mini excavators. I can also promise you that if they were trash, Ritchie Brothers wouldn't be selling them in huge numbers. People do a lot of research before they spend five or six thousand dollars on a piece of equipment. And furthermore, Amazon does sell parts for these machines.
Im buying a ditchwitch 1050 2018 1000h with stumpe grinder bucket and fort for 32k canadian bought un 2019 for 65 i hope im gonna like it anyways not gonna lose à lot its cheeper then the other and have a 11000$ strump grinder attachement with it
Reviews should be based on actual usage comparison, tests, toughness, easy to access and fix, etc. not based on a company's net worth. The guy on Project Farm channel does real live tests to do comparisons, even if its on small things. Some people would prefer Bobcat, some Vermeer, and others what has been ideal for them. There's always an argument for each manufacturer and choosing the best is subjective. Just saying.
I thought the mini skid review was a good assessment, altho idk about kubota mini skids. It’s also interesting to see company sizes. I didn’t know NH was that big, same with Kubota, but that makes sense due to their ex’s/tractors
This dude is a straight Bobcat hater if anybody ever even used one or rented one would know that they are by far the most durable, reliable, proven, true construction machine out there
Not getting parts for China brand is a myth. You have to get one from an importer like Kymron. Good stuff. Parts on hand. Over a hundred hours no issue yet. Even has a kubota diesel
I'd disagree, at least in part, about the Chinese knockoffs. If you need dealer support, 100% don't buy them, but given I can do down to my local Harbor Freight or Princess Auto (Canada's version) and get replacement parts it's not that bad.
Almost every American car manufacturer has had some type of recalls on their vehicles, only bonus is they fix them for free. China your still out of pocket and time waiting for parts to come overseas.
Wacker Sm120 are trash been through 2! Lots of manufacture issues and very difficult to get parts. Just bought a mt100 run them all before rating them.
Dude your wrong about the china products on most of those. Most parts are generic parts the you can get across the counter. Alot of engines are B&S and / or Honda. I've seen name brand pumps on them.
You lack experience. No issues getting parts for the china mini's in the USA. Great dealers like Ground Hog offering parts in the USA for the china units.

Plus I couldn't even find any dealers for Toro in western Alberta until it was too late.
Take care
Scag has the new Jackal. Try it out and come back to this
Im not spending the money on an expensive machine just to use it maybe once a week.
I want a mini skid to complement that and use daily when I don’t have help.
get a ventrac instead
Is he trolling about the Bobcat? Mt 100 is excellent. It makes me wonder if he has actually use it because the Ditch 850 and Kubota SL1000 stalled on me every time I went into a pile of crushed gravel.
My list
Ditched witch 1050+
Bobcat
Vermeer
Toro
Kubota
And everything else.
The mt100 we use at work is great. Definitely a great addition to smaller job sites
It’s a good machine but side by side to the DW. It’s not as strong
We had a toro with 500+ hrs on site along with a Vermeer with 2 hrs … the guys always left the Vermeer sitting unless we needed the second machine
lol kubota has so many known issues and mt100 so low. dude is trolling hard
What kind of issues on the kubota? All my machines are kubota and have been very good to us
@@tylerm9528kubotas full sized machines have been very reliable it’s just the minis that have some issues. like it being tippy, they’ve needed quite a bit of software updates and i’ve seen that the turbo makes it jerk. still a good machine though no doubt.
@@FasconConstruction not that the engine is everything, but the MT100 is Kubota powered, at least mine is.
@@adammcalpine231 right, I was simply defending the kubota motors as The top comment mentioned Kubota having "loads of known issues".
Definitely considering new holland since they’re closest to me, Toro would be a second contender. Toro makes great equipment, and dealer support has been great but not all toro dealers sell the mini skids. Ditch which third but they’re 2 hours away.
Bought a Kubota today . Agree on Bobcat . Wore out 2 big Bobcat , loved them .
The mt100 is awesome, probably the best controls of the mini skids. Not the best digging into hard pack dirt piles, but it's great with a log grapple. Really wish bobcat would release that mt120 or a bigger model. The 1000lbs the 100 can lift is ok but you always want more.
Shovel:
This thing is the absolute G.O.A.T.
we wouldn't be here without it😅
I agree
You have lost your ever-loving mind as a person who is owned ditch witch, vermeer, toro, and bobcat,
My guys referred to our Ditch Witch as a Ferrari fast as hell but always broken and in the shop for repairs we have a bobcat mt85 it's the old Ford truck that just starts every single day and goes to work, as to the S70 machines we own two of these if driving on hard surfaces at all they will run circles speed-wise around our mt-85 or our Ditch Witch.
The best of both worlds. . small enough powerful enough only down fall is lifting weights..also great little machine and easy to work on .. for your basic repairs and maintenance.. love toro
Love my Ditch Witch SK900
I was looking on few,
can you point me in the right direction which ones are pretty nice and durable Chinese mini skid steers ?
@@artemkarnaukh8503 speak to Ron from chances machinery in Shandong.
The fact that he put shovel #1 shows he a real one 😂
Mate, DINGO/Kanga are the GOATs hands down
I Saw Tigran at concrete world
You missed the baumalight that has a bucket float and yanmar or Kubota diesel engine. Which machines have bucket float?
I think u forgot one the kanga loader they are a beast I have 3 and they work as good as a bobcat or a kubota they can do anything and they are tough and easy with the budget they are awesome kanga usa
Kubota is still the goat
Trash until they figure out the issues had 4 break in 3 days. One broke the tilt cylinder pin, 2 burned wires other one unknown
Of course the Ditch Witch 3000 is better at $85k. I’m not sure cost was factored as highly as it should have been .
That Ditch witch sk1750 is pretty bad ass. I have a sk900 on order right now. 12-18 month wait.
good choice
SK900 1.27 Liter Yanmar, with a Turbo
Just ordered a skid from China. My use is homeowner. $15,000 vs $40,000 to $60,000. I gambled. We'll see. BTW. Others on UA-cam give them high marks. Shalom/gw
Bro the mt 100 is pretty freaking powerfull
I do like ditch witches as well. definitely amazing machine, wish I had the 3000
Im looking to buy some equips for my hard scaling company but im on the fence between getting a skid steer or a mini one , I like the mini one because they are more versatile and can get in tight spaces does anyone know what would be a good brand to get for paver work
To low on bobcat. And too high on toro
Bruh, mt100 has plenty of pelotas. 😂 my experience I had more issues with a ditch witch. But again all equipment have problems.
I love my Vermeer ctx160 it lifts 1600 pounds it’s one of my favorites
The brujita machine is numero one
I have about 10 shovels of all sizes. More time consuming but I get exercise and a lot cheaper.
Bro good video dingo is the best next to ditch witch.
I dont think so thats why the bought ditchwitch to upgrade the mini skid
Yeah, non of these has extendable reach like the Dingo 1300
my favorite is ditch witch ! but im ready to order Chinese brand with diesel engine and Italian pumps ! LOL
S70 is the best on the list... damn can't take this serious
I didn’t know NH was that big, same with Kubota, but that makes sense due to their ex’s/tractors
lol I almost got a s70 but ended up with the mt85. Great so far
Kubota the giant goat!!!!
Agree
Not the scl 1000 lol maybe their other stuff
Then choose ours! It's absolutely worth it!
I used that chinese brand , it will break down frequently than others , toro and new Holland is very good
I thought this was going to be a serious thing. Such a basic review
Got to get one of those SHOVELS ............
You messed up on the bobcat rating. 😢
The Chinese brand runs about 6500. All parts are easy to get at any local store.
Kanga loaders and toro are the top dogs in Australia by far!
I'd disagree, at least in part, about the Chinese knockoffs. If you need dealer support, 100% don't buy them, but given I can do down to my local Harbor Freight or Princess Auto (Canada's version) and get replacement parts it's not that bad.
First of all no 1's mentioning the name of the Chinese loader and no 1's name in the parts that they're finding and what parts are going bad
Toro 1000 or 2000 way better than Kubota, better balance , better stance, better controls, no-brainer.
Should try boxer. Good one and American made.
Almost every American car manufacturer has had some type of recalls on their vehicles, only bonus is they fix them for free. China your still out of pocket and time waiting for parts to come overseas.
I came here specifically to see how the Case stacks up
Vermeer!
Wacker Sm120 are trash been through 2! Lots of manufacture issues and very difficult to get parts. Just bought a mt100 run them all before rating them.
Kanga 8 series?
Toro is amazing! Correction! Bobcat did 7 billion in 2023.
What about the boxer mini skid
Should have had the worky quad on here
Vermeer is goat
This kid's 21 years old, are you kidding me?
Dude your wrong about the china products on most of those. Most parts are generic parts the you can get across the counter. Alot of engines are B&S and / or Honda. I've seen name brand pumps on them.
You lack experience. No issues getting parts for the china mini's in the USA. Great dealers like Ground Hog offering parts in the USA for the china units.
Buddy I have the wacker sm100 I can't believe you haven't seen one in the USA 😂😂😂
they are very slow machines!
@tacomafan7488 lol your joking right?
