Been nearly 2 months since the last video I've been busy with work and away on holiday!
Special thanks to Danny, Damien and Chris for sending in their clips.
The driving standards in Northern Ireland seem to be getting worse by the day. I've had plenty of near misses over the past lot of years and its got so much worse recently so I decided to invest in a dashcam to record my daily observations on the roads.
I'm by no means the perfect driver and make mistakes on a regular basis but some of these people are just plain crazy!

The Dashcam I use is a Nextbase 302g
Feel your pain man. Bought a dash cam ( front and rear) about 3 months ago and I feels like everytime I'm on the road that there is at least 5-10 incidences with idiot f-ing drivers who cut me off or what ever it may be.
You should send me some footage Matthew! Ha!
I've had a front dashcam for the last 5 or 6 years, and was catching maybe 2 or 3 people a day doing stupid things
(mainly motorway driving)
But recently upgrade to an AUKEY DR02 D (dual cam) and it is unbelievable how much more footage i have captured now.. Unreal!!

I think the truck would have been at fault because the slip road has two lanes to exit onto. With two lanes on the roundabout at that point I assume they both can exit, but I'm not entirely sure if these roundabout rules change when it's linked up to motorway slip roads. After all traffic isn't really supposed to come up a slip road just to rejoin, and as both lanes can go straight from the motorway that could mean both lanes go right.
Due to the Shore road exit having two lanes I would assume the docks exit also has two lanes, which could mean both lanes off the motorway can go to the docks, especially with the more specific individual lane markings starting as you go over the motorway, which is actually shown by the painted directions. So actually the Volvo would probably have been found to be at fault.
I'd go for the Volvo as less at fault as there were no road markings suggesting the standard 2 in/2 out rule wouldn't apply (like that clusterfudge at Rushmere in Craigavon with it's custom markings), but that was a risky move all the same from the Volvo...it's not like he couldn't see the lorry. I definitely wouldn't call it no fault all on either side all the same
Personally I think the two lanes coming off the M2/M5 are both for the docks, to allow for cargo transport (all the HGVs etc.) but its not very clearly marked, like the way the exit at Junction 1 is, both lanes can go right towards Ballymena.
Either way, only an idiot would try to cut up a 40ft lorry, especially in their blind spot, right or wrong, you'll still lose, common sense ffs...
Instructor told me roundabout works like a clock face anything beyond 12 is right lane.
I'd say you are probably right but there are no road markings at all to indicate that you can do that and I was always taught left lane for left and straight on and right lane for turning right, past the 12 o'clock position unless otherwise indicted which it isn't in this case!
That's right unless it's otherwise indicated, say at Junction one as Sparko indicated.
I actually drove to the Belfast docks recently from Derry. I have to say it's like a straight road the whole way now with this new highway. The sat nav goes haywire as it ain't mapped yet but still got me there although it was bad on the bypass thingy at 8.30 am literally drove the whole way down at less than 10mph.. different story at 10pm I think I done 80 down it.. was a nice drive to the docks and it's the furthest I've been yet lol... driving 3 years
2:50 Edward St. Downpatrick. I've been down it a lot, it is rather infamous for being tight, especially during early morning and afternoon when kids are going to and leaving the nearby Primary School. This driver had absolutely no consideration.
Regards the last clip, lorries from the docks do that a few hundred times a day, they leave dargan and stay lane 1 the whole way round to exit 3 to join m2. I've no idea why people can't use roundabouts
brian mccourt yes they do you are 100% right but is that the way they are supposed to do it? The road isn’t marked that way and the 3rd exit is past the 12 o’clock position! 🤔
@@dashcamsni9190 I was always taught exits 1 and 2 before 12 o'clock are left lane and after that is right lane. I'm almost 100% on that
Yeah that’s what I was taught! Unless signed otherwise obviously but it isn’t. You are right btw the amount of people in this country that can’t use a roundabout is frightening!! I remember a clip I put on Facebook one time! Took 3rd exit way past 12 o’clock so was in right hand lane, at least half the people that commented said I should have been in the left lane! 🤦🏼♂️🥴

In the last clip it would have been the Volvo's fault for cutting up the lorry

The Volvo was in the wrong,they should have been in the left lane,as for the lorry,you can use either lane when there are two unless otherwise stated.
they really fucked up those lanes in warrenpoint everyone parks in the left lane because you used to be fukin able to park???
I'm there once a month it's standard practice there! Maybe has something to do with it!
Roundabout rules third exit lorry should have been in third lane were the lorry was is were the focus should have been.

MJ Jackson The Lorry should’ve been in the right hand lane if he’s taking the 3rd exit and the Volvo should’ve been in the left hand lane.

When I compare Belfast drivers with other countries drivers, I can see Belfast drivers are the best drivers in the world. I love Belfast.
