Nice repair Peter, had a similar issue with a 2014 focus. Like that it shut the rear circuit down so ment that i had to load test the wires from the module to the individual sensors, then I ended up doing a resistance check on each sensor and found one was different to the rest, replaced it and hey presto all worked again. Interestingly, while doing some research into testing the sensors DDTSB recommend using a 5w bulb in place of a sensor for confirming a faulty parking sensor. I haven't tried this method yet myself.
Todays "Giggle" here Peter, was yet another Golf (there's 3 lined up in one of the sheds - 1.9tdi pd, got a new camshaft 14 months ago somewhere else - ran great till last week when it started sounding like a Massey & lost power. No fault codes set.. ABS code, an airbag igniter code, but no engine codes.. Pulled it apart & no great surprise, lobe on the cam worn away - with a socking great hole in the follower beneath. Last place changed the cam but didn't do the followers... followers wore & ate the new cam. How chuffed will the customer be hearing they need another new cam plus a full set of followers? All the chuffed, no doubt. Better still, son lands in driving his "new" car he bought - I wasn't consulted. What automotive gem did he purchase? A bloomin Audi - not just any headmelt Audi, but the king of headmelts - a quattro 400hp s-line A3, him sitting there with a big "I know this will break, but you'll fix it so who cares" grin on his puss. Effort.. Nice job on the Renaults parking sensors - nothing like having to join 8 wires back together to keep you keen on a friday - or whatever day you did this..
@@kennedysgarage3281 Just as an aside, Peter - did an Audi A6 subframe swap yesterday & today - ho hum, blah blah - jobs done, cars gone, all good - except the "New" subframe I fitted was "European Spec" - I.E Continental mainland spec, not "Here" spec. Used subframe, came from across the waters - critical dimensions were all identical, but compared to the "Paddy Spec" subframe I removed, it was like something off a tank. It weighed about twice what the "Irish" spec item did, was cross-braced where the "Irish Market" one wasn't - I.E a much higher spec part. That starts me wondering, when they say "Irish specifications may vary.." on the Ads - does that mean we get the crap version? I kinda think it does, tbh.
Well Peter watched just you evicte a rat from a Mercedes bumper I have a electrical problem on a vehicle here I don't think your autal scanner will work on this but I have no dought you'd find the problem it's a john deer tractor 😊😊
Well done, Peter. Good logical approach.
It can be nice when the answer jumps out at you like that though 😊😊
@kennedysgarage3281 not a chance that's experience.

That is interesting, I have to check DDTSB tomorrow to see. Good to learn and well done on your repair 💪💪💪
Top job Peter’ in my experience Skan tools often report the symptoms but not the cause.
Scantool says Rat ate wires under bumper 😂😂😂
If only Kevin
