As a European left wing activist I started watching TYT. I found their positions weird and not what I would call left wing at all. I was brought up in a left wing household my father was a union shop steward. My grandfather fought the Nazis and the fascist thugs our conservative government in the 1920's sent to attack striking workers and their families. I joined my first union at 16. I will never cross a picket line I will do what I can to help striking workers families. Socialism gave my country universal healthcare in 1947. I am an Anti fascists I put myself between Nazis and their targets be they in the Jewish, black, LGBTQI+ community etc.I find Ana's reaction to be like the Far Right when you call out their racism. That's because USA _doesn't_ have a true left wing political party. The closest to a "Left Wing" politician in USA is Bernie Sanders. He's not an anarchist. He's not a communist. He's not a socialist. At _best_ he's a Social Democrat... a person who wants to regulate Capitalism so the people who are harmed by it can, you know, not mortgage their house to pay for their insulin... which is a real problem in USA... and only in the USA. In effect, Bernie Sanders is trying to get USA to be closer to what all other "Western" Nations, have done 50 years ago!
The reason there is no "left" in USA is due to the Red Scare propaganda. For several _decades_ it was illegal to be a Left Wing politician. Left Wing organizations were routinely spied upon and then broken apart by the CIA/FBI. Today, the situation is pretty bad. There are more people to the _left_ of the Democrats... but they vote Democrat so that the _Republicans_ who are openly embracing fascism don't win elections.
They are left in the AMerican spectrum, but you have to remember that the American spectrum skews to the right. So the American left is basically just really mild social democrats.
Cenk has proudly stated several times now that he's a capitalist, and after a few instances of that I just stopped paying them any attention. They might LEAN left on social issues, but even that sliver of credibility is fully compromised at this point and I don't see it lasting much longer. They are certainly not leftists, and never were. Hopefully this stuff just pushes people to their left.
TYT are like our centrist liberal democrats trying to find common ground with conservatives and the Far Right. They will throw communities to the wolves like Ana with the Transgender Community to find common ground with conservatives. I hate conservatives because weak conservatives empower the Far Right. The Far Right will come after me as a leftist. They will also come after the Transgender, Jewish, black communities so getting between the Transgender Community and Nazis makes sense. Do TYT think the Far Right will give them a pass? My countries Nazis have told me I am on a red list when I said I was honoured that through them. I would say to Americans education yourself on what being left wing really is because it is not TYT.

I've enjoyed and respected Ana pretty much since TYT started, but she's always had this thing where she can be blinded by her emotions when she gets worked up. It's one of the factors that led to me eventually unfollowing TYT, tho I still like the network and catch the occasional clip (esp ones featuring John Iadarola)
The clip of Vaush she posted is him complaining about how quick some people on the left are so quick to cancel people over tiny things, and the LGBTQ community (or those trying to show what huge allies they are most of the time, if we're being honest) is a big factor in that, when her ENTIRE fucking thing lately has been bitching about the left trying to cancel her for bitching about the birthing person freak out she had. She's actually trying to use the thing she is currently doing against him, it's astounding.
What's really funny is that Vaush actually had a valid point considering how people have attempted to cancel him over fake nonsense while she is trying (and failing) to make the same point based on actual nonsense, she just doesn't use the word cancer or call people regarded so she's good, Vaush bad.
