Hi Rusty,

Ken

Hey Rusty, I'd love a rig run down of what you use when recording these videos as your tone is always so great! I wish I'd found these videos 20 years ago!
Thanks bud! I will definitely do a rig run down video soon. I get a lot of questions. It’s amazing the resources we have on UA-cam to learn anything! I appreciate the comment and have a great weekend.👍
I agree, love to have a tone class from you.
u mean 30 years ago lol
Me too ❤
Great as always! Thank you very much! And - yes, that tone around the 12th fret while soloing is so smooth. I'd love to learn more about.
Thanks for watching! Sometimes a solo can be simple, but sound so good! I appreciate all your support👍
Incredibly helpful Rusty ! Thank you so much for sharing !
Nice! I’m glad the lesson was helpful! You’re very welcome. Thanks for the comment.👍

But see rusty I can actually sit watch this guy for hours and be so engaged! As he has so much to give.so much natural talent on guitar the way he explains things just everything mate ur personality rusty wow I honestly wish u were my teacher? As I'd be 1 hell of a guitarist not too show off! But for my personal feeling inside!!

after many many yrs... I've got a really good grasp on rhythm.,..but in lead I need all the help I can get....your vids are really helpful and appreciated......👍
Let’s keep working at it together WJ! Always good to hear from you and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Thanks buddy.✌️
Yeah Rusty, I really love this kind of lessons, mixing rytthm and melodic lead, I need to practice this a lot until I get used to it, thank you for sharing all the references you use in the process my friend, always grateful, what a great channel you are building buddy! have a nice weekend ahead!
Hey Rafa, always good to hear from you. I appreciate the feedback here. This is what most guitar players live for. Learning to mix rhythm and lead all over the fretboard. Let’s keep working on it my friend. I hope you have a great weekend also.👍
Your demo sounds a little Pink Floyd/Jimi-ish. Love it. As you've seen from my previous comments, my journey on the guitar matches what you are teaching in your YT lessons. So, so good. And it all makes sense now. I just need to get my chops up and work on loops and backing tracks to burn it into my mind and fingers. You are a goldmine, Rusty. How you keep coming up with great/insightful lessons every day or two is beyond me. Just know you are appreciated so very much. Cheers bud!
Hey Doug, you are certainly on the right track! Working on the right things. I really do have fun playing and teaching! Thanks so much for all your support and have a great weekend.👍
Such an awesome lesson Rusty!

Speaking of turning on the lights, this video really helped me tremendously. It never really clicked for me how to transition back and forth between my chords and the pentatonic runs before i practiced this. THANK YOU. More please sir!
I’m happy to help Kyle! And I’m glad the lights 💡 Are turning on!!! Thanks for checking out the video 👍
Thank you very much Rusty...... your videos have unlocked a Lot of progress for me. When I crack this I will say I can actually play...
This is a fantastic lesson. I'm going to give it my all.... I'm nearly there. . 😅
You’re welcome! It’s exciting that you’re moving forward! Thanks a lot Marc! Let’s keep working on this stuff. Talk to you soon.👍
Rusty, I just love the format and the way you go about things. I had a guitar mentor/best friend who passed away about 10 years ago. He grew up in Beaumont Texas with the Winter brothers and you remind me so much of him. He taught me many things, but one thing really stuck out. He said, I've never seen a really good rhythm player who wasn't a good lead player unless they just didn't care to play lead, but I've seen many really good lead players who couldn't play rhythm to save their lives. He finished by saying, become a really good rhythm player and the rest will take care of itself. You're more proof. Thanks for your offerings!
That is great advice! If you are a good rhythm player, the rest will take care of itself👍 thanks for checking out the video✌️
❤❤yes another good lesson from rusty for me to learn later on today when I get home from work...
Thanks Bryan! I appreciate the comment and let me know how it goes as you dig into it after work! Have an awesome weekend👍

Great lesson, well paced, thoroughly explained, great structure but also showing us jumping off points to improvise. To me, this guitar gold combining rhythm and lead. Thanks for this.
Thanks a lot JH! I’m glad you got something from the video lesson. I like how you said it. Guitar gold! I appreciate you taking the time to watch my videos.🤛

Another home run Rusty. I closed my eyes and heard Jimi.
Cool, Scooby! I love me some Hendrix Guitar for sure. Enjoy your weekend.✌️
Real players feel their own voice they may cover someone else's song but put a insight of themselves to make the cover a interpretation of their own using the roots and going within to give delivery from themselves......and you deliver that point and devotion each video drop..... good job ! good tone !! Not over the top !! not under the rug !! Right where it should be.
Hey John, well said here! It’s so important to find your own voice on the guitar! I really do appreciate this great comment here. Thanks so much my brother and enjoy the rest of your weekend.✌️😎
Excellent as always Rusty!! have a great weekend friend

Excellent advice, as always, Rusty! 👍
Thank you Derek! Good to hear from you bud ✌️
It was if The Universe said we know what you lack, we will send our beloved Rusty Guitar to teach you. Beginning Rhythm! I’m all over slides, stings, hammer ons and pull offs, now ask me to play any chord cleanly the first time. If I master part One of this video, I do believe I’ll be quite obnoxious.
You got this Cathy!!! Oh yes, you will be very obnoxious 🔥 This is some fun stuff. Let’s rock! Enjoy the rest of the weekend! Thanks for the comment Cathy ❤️
Thanks! Maestro. Much love ❤️. Snow falling in STL, Mo’ USA.

Again, great lesson on a great song. Thanks to the way you present material im starting to see how music is made on guitar. Im not that concerned that my hands are not capable yet. The insight is a crazy valuable skill in itself. Thank you for creating, thank you for sharing your experience knowledge and passion with those of us trying to make music! BEST AND PEACE
Hey Chuck, you’re right! Once you see how music is put together, the fretboard starts to open up for you! And more of these lessons start to make sense. Thanks for all your support and enjoy your weekend.✌️

Thankyou Sir, for this Informative Video! My band was called Rusty and The Rebels 😊 It all fell apart but Rusty(me) is still playing guitar and putting together a new band :) I played a solo gig yesterday, mostly on backing tracks but this approach is very helpful to get rid of the backing track and doing everything on your own! Thanks again! Cheers 🤘🏻
Hey Rusty! I appreciate the comment. I’m glad you got a new band together! Thanks so much for checking out the video. It sounds like you got some ideas from it! Have a great week bro.😎
thats a nice blues intro with just the chords... Little Wing I hear... you have to build up a solo not rushing into it... keeping track with the rhythm is a must to keep the flow going... this song is especially very nice to dress up the chords with hammer ons pull offs and slides.. .. so lead and rhythm are isync ... yes adding the emotion it to make it come alive.. great job here in this tutorial ... I think Im going to cover this song ....
You’re right John, we need to take our time with this one! It certainly is a very well-known guitar tune. It would be a great tune to cover for sure! Thanks for checking in.👍
Wow. That was truly valuable. You are a wonderful teacher and make learning fun. Thank you!!
I appreciate that! Learning can be fun!!! Thank you for the comment and have a great weekend✌️

Hey Rusty, One of your videos just popped before my eyes while surfing ont YT... Straight after a few seconds watching, I just clicked on like, and suscribe... It's kind of a rare thing for me. So I decided to take a look at your other videos, and F***k, I finally found what I was looking for... You explain things in a way that makes guitar theory cristal clear, you have an amazing touch, and feeling, thanks a lot for doing things like you do !!!! I never post comments, but could not shut up here ! :)

Thanks a lot! I appreciate the comment👍
Great example to get in this 🤗👍
It is simple, but definitely something we can build on! Thanks thanks for watching and have a great weekend👍
Can’t understate the importance of chord selection, the way the c opens up and transitions the sound in this progression stands out to me, but there are other chord choices that also stand out
Cool 😎 Well said bro! It’s a classic! Thank you for your comment. Talk to you soon 👍
I like this approach Rusty. Instead of spending the next 50 years trying to work out Jimi's magic.note for note. Take the essence and work with that. I think a lot of transferable ideas are gained that way, and you can sound like you with a bit of Jimi in the mix. Can't be bad.
Well said! I like this comment! Take the essence out! A little bit of Jimi Hendrix and are playing is a good thing. Thanks for watching. Talk to you soon.👍
It's been awhile since I had a chance to see your videos but this is a awesome video as is all your others good job Rusty

Little Wing .....In my opinion Jimis' apex composition , shear brilliance !
I’m really glad that you on board with the channel! I love some Hendrix guitar 🎸 Let’s keep working on this stuff together! Have a great weekend buddy✌️
This was great! Thanks Rusty!
Little Wing is pretty much the prototype for such playing. A song pretty much any guitar player should learn at some point, imho.
Cheers,

Also, your kind spirit radiates throughout your communication which no doubt is a direct reflection of the time you invest reading the Bible , which you wisely display in the background of your setting.

Thanks, LW! I appreciate you checking out the video. I read the Bible on my studio every morning. I wish more of us Americans did!!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend🙏
You da man Rusty! Top Notch man! I wish these lessons were around years ago. But your nailing it in an organized fashion. Hey, yeah Im interested in the video setup as well. Want to see if mine is close. Im using my imac to record video using quicktime. I use the Bose S1 Pro+, (Used as interface) plug guitar and mic into it, stream mixed sound directly to the imac. Sound source is the Bose S1 Pro+, so no room sounds, like reverb, ac, etc. Great quality sound, and video in one take. Am I close?
Good to hear from you Monty! My set up is a little simpler. I plugged my guitar and microphone into my interface( Scarlet i2). And I have my interface going directly into my iPhone with a camera adapter. It actually works very well. The only downside is I have to make sure the levels are good as I’m recording. Have a great weekend my friend.✌️
Thanks
You’re very welcome!!! 🤛

Hi Rusty you areca great teacher. Are you playing through an amp? Sounds great.
Thanks for checking out the video. Yes, I’m using the Revv G 20 amp set clean and driving it with the Revv tilt overdrive pedal. And some reverb from the Strymon BigSky. It’s a great little amp! Happy Sunday.🙏

hi i am a Little confused was your rythm on (1) beat and on (2) beat and on (3and) beat and on (4) beat ? i hope you undestand my notation ?
Hey Richard, thanks for the comment. Hitting the low note once then strum the chord. Then hit the low note twice then strum the chord again. do this slow and then as you speed up, it will start to create the groove. Have a great weekend.👍
