I been "playing" guitar for almost 40 years. And learning the C major scale changed my entire playing "life". I just made myself learn this shit. Took me like 1 day to fucking get it. Where was the internets when I was 10. Oh yea in the hands of some old guys lol

I tried it, the results are… 🫤terrible. On a positive note I’am pleased with the results of practicing the diatonic chords in the scale changing between some of them, timing of the strumming needs work. I’ll say the work is paying off

it works because Am pentatonic's notes are a subset of C major scale.
it happens because A is the 6th note in C major scale (C D E F G *A* B) and the 6th degree of a major scale is minor, meaning that the Am scale will be like C major but starting from A (A B C D E F G).
Minor pentatonic is a minor scale without the second and 6th, what makes Am pentatonic be A C D E G, all of these notes in C major.
yeah basically when you know minor scale all over the neck the major one si the second position of the minor. So am = C , em = C#, fm = D and so on.

@@damonclayton4275 No. Am is not a note per se. It’s a chord made from three notes called a triad. In this case it would be A C E. The jam track is a series of chord progressions in the key of C major. I believe you might have it confused with sharps and flats. C major is simply the key that this progression is based around. It doesn’t mean you can’t create a relative minor triad within it.

"F" Major 😂😂
When I play C major pentatonic to G major pentatonic to a minor pentatonic f major pentatonic, or worse C Mixolydian, A Aeolian to F lydian it's fine to make the changes can I play the chord tones and get a Melody introduced. But it's also just as cool to go between the C major Pentatonic and then add in some bluesy major and minor pentatonic switching about plus adding in some arpeggios and occasionally adding some diatonic notes to outline Accord but if you simply change scales for each chord for the entire song it starts to sound like it's super contrived and starts to lack soul that's why I think it's cool to start off making the changes but keep the intervals wide and focus more on arpeggios and when you really want to lay into the licks stay and see major and occasionally maybe add in some minor licks it don't go too far out in the weeds. Every now and again you can make a change over a particular chord like you can go from C major to a minor of the a minor chord but the c major works with everything so you don't have to constantly change the tonic for each goddamn cord because it's annoying the melodies that you come up with are likely to sound fairly cliche if you stick to that jazz type roadmap despite the fact that what makes Jazz cool is the chords are flying by quickly so you've got to make the changes quickly. When you're playing a kind of southern rock chord progression of your hanging on each quarter long enough to know the change make some changes here and there but don't make the changes for every damn change because it just sounds like you're trying too hard to turn on Jazz tune into a jazz tune in never works and you just sound stupid not to say that modal interchange in switching scales isn't cool just do it sparingly and perhaps Play over the changes now and then but don't do it every time if you get a repetitive chord progression like this or it's going to sound repetitive playing with a particular scale in one key and playing arpeggios and stuff to make it exciting will give you a lot more mileage than just simply switching scales and hitting the chord tones every time the chord changes this kind of corporation lends itself to lots of bluesy bends and so forth. I guess my point is when you're not playing Bebop you don't have to make every change every single time the chords change because it's going to sound silly if the change is within the scale Pinky the song that's fine but don't play new scales every time unless you can interweave them so seamlessly that it's very difficult to tell what you're doing and don't always start on the tonic of new cord or it's going to sound corny
