3.26.. Sir I don’t know the person you are taking to but he uses “india is the only country…” .. wherever this statement comes I feel it’s wrong whether it shows India in good or bad light .. nobody can make that statement ever .. infact this guest is typecasting in that sentence.. besides how do you know no other country is like that ? I have seen people not treated well due to same reasons in the western countries..
It’s important to educate but don’t typecast
Also don’t call everything is caste .. seems like agenda driven comments from the guest

What's with the educated Hindus, these days? Anything 'unpalatable' to them and militates against their blind beliefs becomes impure and unholy, even, if you quote from the epic Mahabharata, where, none other than the wisest of them all, Yudhisthira, recommends offering beef to the pitr, in Mahabharata.
It's 'either my way or the high way' pandemic that's afflicting an entire generation. They would want an universal gag on any exchange if ideas, if it does not suit their fragile sentiments.
And, I don't find anything, even remotely, insulting to any particular community or creed in the scholarly exchange of views by these two gentlemen. If the critics of their views have anything substantial to disprove their statements with evidence, they should come out with it, instead of displaying baseless contempt.

One misunderstanding you hold is that satwik, rajsik, tamasik is categorised based on food habits of indo-gagentic people. No, the categorisation is based on what food induces which state of mind. This was done to primarily help people on spiritual path. A spiritual person would like to avoid certain states of mind like anger, lethargy, lust, agitation, over-activeness etc. since these can distract one from persuing his/her spiritual goal.

This is a lovely video, very thought provoking. Just wanted to share two of those thoughts:
    1. Is ritualised use of psychedelics comparable to ritualised use of alcohol? I know there are a lot of claimed psychological benefits for psychedelics, my question is not about the reality of those claims. My question is, does this ritualised alcohol use also have a sinilar reputation? I had always been under the impression that alcohol use was only associated with celebration, while psychedelic use supposedly heals trauma and opens your mind etc.
    2. Devdutt Pattanaik made a throw away comment about nature not liking hierarchy. A somewhat different view is that humans and primates in general have a tendency towards hierarchy that must be actively fought. The anarchist podcaster Robert Evans talks about this and his thoughts on it in the podcast Behind the B*st*rds episode "The B*st*rd Manifesto". I guess my feeling is that the idea of nature not liking heirarchy can make us complacent about guarding against those tendencies, i dont mean this as a criticism.

@@krishashok true that krish avargal. Let me clarify I am not deciding or restricting you by telling you to not have Convo with this guy. I am just stating my opinion that this guy u have chosen for this topic as it is related indic culture is a bad choice. Reading his books or discussing with him on things related to indic culture is a bad choice for anyone. People can take what I said as a caution remark instead of taking it as I am imposing my opinion on them.

Nice chat! But then pseudoscience can't b completely trusted either! Science itself doesn't nt have answers fr so many things! To quote wat Aimee Pugh bernard said "Pseudoscientific claims r confusing, they use scientific jargon to sound believable!" 🤔

If youre talking to him about debunking spiritual food and eating scientifically healthy food, even then looking at him, hes probably the last guy to know what healthy eating would be.
