I used this Re-Coloring balm today on my leather couch and it works exactly as shown in this video! Our couch is about 10 years old and just had normal wear in the sitting area. But, since the couch is brown and the wear areas show up sort of white, it looked bad. In fact, the couch looked very much like the one in this UA-cam video. Anyway, we are very pleased as the product works just as advertised and I am happy to recommend it!
Hi shacky42 we are really pleased that you have got great results from our Re-coloring Balm, if you need anything else, have any more projects or just want a few hints and tips on how to look after your leather, please dont hesitate to get in touch. I just got this delivered to my home yesterday to fix a spot on my leather sofa and I will NEVER buy anything else as long as I live. It looks amazing! I realllllllllly really love it! I wish I could post a picture on her as proof. Thanks!
Thanks! Just ordered the Balm and the Leather Care Kit! Hope this works on my old jacket. It's in great condition, just faded over the years and it's my favorite. I'll make sure to let you know the outcome! :)
I found a beautiful thick leather soft leather black footstool and I want to restore it but of course I don’t know how it’s gonna look I’m wondering which product would be best to make it as black as I can
Hi, the right product will depend on your leather type. If it is absorbent, the Recolouring Balm will be the best product. If it is not absorbent, the Colourant Kit will be the best option. The easiest way to check is to put a drop of water on an area that is not worn. If the water soaks in within five seconds, your leather is absorbent.
Hi I recently used ur steering restoration kit and it was brilliant. I'm now looking to do my seats which are half alcantara and half leather it's obviously only the leather I wish to restore as its starting to fade and getting creases on the bolsters etc. The leather is non absorbant so I guess I can't use this kit which kit would u recommend?
Hi Hannah, the recolouring balm is only designed to work on absorbent leathers, so if your boots are not absorbent, you can test this very easily by placing a drop of water on the area that is to be treated and wait for 10 seconds, if the water soaks in, then your leather is absorbent, if not, then the balm will not be suitable. If you find your leather is not absorbent, we also have a shoe colouring kit in our range that is designed for non-absorbent leathers. Either of these products are available from our websites from both the UK and the USA. Hope this helps, Let me know if you have any problems, Kind Regards, The Customer Care Team, Furniture Clinic Limited.
Hi there, You can buy this product and any of our other products from our website, furnitureclinic.co.uk the link is under the description for this video. Before purchasing the balm please ensure that your leather is absorbent, if you are unsure just put a drop of water onto the leather and wait 5-10 seconds, if it sinks in then the balm will be fine. If you find your leather is not absorbent, you may need to use a Leather Colourant Kit to restore the colour to your leather instead.
The Leather Recolouring Balm is suitable for absorbent leathers only. You can test this by dropping a drop of water on to the surface of the leather. If the water soaks in, the leather is absorbent and the balm can be used to restore the colour. If the water remains on the surface, the leather is non-absorbent and the balm is not suitable.
Hi For non-absorbent leather it would be a Leather Colourant Kit that's needed. You can see this being used to restore a car seat in the following video: ua-cam.com/video/OcvmSX34YFw/v-deo.html
I have a leather sofa and chair with sun faded areas and then some large areas where body oils have absorbed into the leather. I am worried about the areas with the body oils. Will the color cover that up?
+Laura Rude (LadyLJR) Hi. With grease and oil it is best to use our Leather Degreaser to extract the oils before applying the Recoluring Balm. The balm alone will not cover the marks.
If it is absorbent leather it will sink in pretty quickly (it does depend on if there is a protection cream that has been added though). However, if it is non-absorbent, it may still sink in eventually if the surface of the leather is damaged. If you could email us some pictures we can take a look and tell you what you'll need. Just send pictures to enquiries@furnitureclinic.co.uk.
Where can I purchase this product ( Leather Restoration Balm ) About how much does it cost. Is there a website that is legit or a phone number. Thank you
I have a dark stain on my white lether couch. I really need to know how to, and wht product I can buy that may get it back to its original color. please help
+Arlynebowman Bowman this will depend on what kind of stain it is. If you email us at enquiries@furnitureclinic.co.uk (or use the contact details on our website) we will be able to advise you further.
Hi. It's always a good idea to clean the leather before doing any restoration work. This can be done with the Leather Ultra Clean. I'd also advise protecting the leather afterwards with the Leather Protection Cream in order to prevent further fading.
I ordered and used your balm on what I believe is a pigmented leather sofa that has discoloration at the knee area of the cushions. There was a slight evening of the color and the leather seems softer, but it didn't completely even out the color. Do you have a product you can recommend on a pigmented leather sofa from Bernhardt? I say it's pigmented because of the swatch that's attached to the sofa and the way it responds to a finger scratch test, and a water test. You response will be greatly appreciated.
+Dick Johnson Hello, the balm works best on absorbent leather. Pigmented leather has a surface on it preventing it for being absorbent unless the top layer is damaged exposing the absorbent layer underneath. To get the best results you'll need to colour over this and blend it. Here if the colourant kit - www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Colourant_Kit.php On this page there is a video that will show the repair of a leather car bolster that had faded. Let me know if you have any problems or further questions!
If the leather is pigmented / non-absorbent, we would recommend that you use our Leather Colourant Kit. This kit will allow you to prep, clean, recolour and refinish the leather to a professional standard.
Can I use Lexol cleaner/conditioner after application, say in 6 months? All my original leather has been kept with Lexol and is in perfect condition; however, this Scandinavian chair with cream color leather is micro cracking and dried some (wasn't cared like I care for my leather). I want to use the cream balm on it. Also, I feel that the cream may be darker than the original and the white is too light in color, can I mix the colors of balm to get a custom blended color? Thank you.
Hello, what type of leather is the Scandinavian chair? is it absorbent? Do you have any pictures? We can do custom colour balms, that's not a problem. If you can let us know the details above we'll be able to make sure your getting the right product and advise on he best course of action for the best results. if your able to call in, we can advise over the phone to get you the answer quicker: UK: 0844 879 3691 US: (866) 931-8095
Bought in the 80's at a store called Scan Design. Here are photos and yes they are water absorbent. Scroll to the next photo for a close up as well: www.flickr.com/photos/motleypixel/35982134875/in/dateposted-public/
Hello, apologies for the delay. I've spoken to one of our technicians and shown him the pictures. He has said that although it appears to be absorbent this is only due to the cracking. Examining the cracks more closely, as they look darker than the leather, the balm will not work. It will only work if the cracks are lighter. We would advise using the leather binder to fill in the cracks and the small leather colourant kit over this. You can send a sample of the leather for a colour match so it blend seamlessly.
+Sharifah Syaheerah well this contains both conditioning and colouring agent to help the leather regain it's original look and feel. But it will depend on the type of the leather as you could use our colouring kit to recolor the leather is it is not absorbent. You can get this from: www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Degreaser.php - If in the UK with free delivery www.furnitureclinic.com/Leather_Degreaser.php - If in the US with Free delivery
This is just for absorbent leather. If you visit the product page link under the video it described doing a water test to make sure it's the right product for you. You may need the leather Colourant Kit if the leather in not absorbant
Hi minimad24 , unfortunately, the balm is designed for use on absorbent leathers only, unless you have an absorbent leather car interior (this would be the exception to the rule, the overwhelming majority of car interiors are made from Pigmented Leather which is not absorbent and nor suitable for this process), then you should not attempt to restore the interior in this way. We do however offer products and advice on restoring a pigmented leather car interiors, you can find our guide video here: ua-cam.com/video/OcvmSX34YFw/v-deo.html, all products in the video can be purchased from www.furnitureclinic.com if you are ordering from the USA or Canada, or www.furnitureclinic.co.uk from the UK or anywhere else in the world. If you need a bit more advice or guidance, please dont hesitate to get in touch. Kind Regards, The Customer Care Team, Furniture Clinic Limited.
OK I’m not seeing anyone ask this question so will it work on a chair that has sat in the sun and faded unevenly all over? There are parts of the chair that will absorb water and parts of the chair that won’t. Parts of the chair are super light tan and parts of it looked untouched medium tan. You have one product for recoloring (which this needs on 70% of it) and then you have another product for nourishing. Don’t know what to do...
fading can look wonderful. using the balm restores an overall colour to dryer parts. as long as your chair leather is nourished and smooth you will get to like it after the balm.
Hi: I am interested in purchasing the Bond to restore my faded jacket. I did check and it does absorb water. The leather is a very soft leather. Do I need to purchase anything else in addition to the color bond you show in your video?
+NJNorthern we don't have a video for this one but we do have visual instructions if you go to the product page then click the tab labelled Instructions (next to the one labelled Description) that will show you how it's done. www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Degreaser.php
Hi. I was wondering if I could do this for a leather belt for weight training. Its over 10 years old and its not in a great condition. I want to restore the leather to its original state so it can prolong for another 10 years. Could you give tips on how to clean and restore it. Thank you and hope to hear back. :)
Hi I just received the Ultra Clean, Protection Cream and Re-colouring Balm, but the balm was damaged during shipment. The container was cracked and spilled all over the inside of the box. I sent an email to the company but thought I would mention it here also. Is there a replacement process when this occurs?
Yes it would . We also have one specifically for shoes if you want to restore some shine too - www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Shoe_Shine_Colour_Restorer.php
Hi Josh Almanza, all of the products in our videos can be purchased from www.furnitureclinic.com if you are from the USA or Canada, or www.furnitureclinic.co.uk if you are from anywhere else in the world. Hope this helps, Kind Regards, The Customer Care Team, Furniture Clinic.
My husband built up a large spot of oily residue on his very expensive recliner. I tried to use white vinegar to remove the guck and it did, but it also did quite a bit of fading in that spot! Will your product bring back the natural rich brown color? If so, I will tell everyone with leather couches about it. Thanks.
Hi Sylvia. This is quite a common problem. We have products to restore the colour but which one to use depends on the type of leather your furniture is made from. The easiest way to check is to put a drop of water on the surface. If the water soaks in within five seconds then you can use a Leather Recolouring Balm. If the water stays on the surface then you can use a Leather Touch Up Kit (for small areas of 10cm x 10cm) or a Leather Colourant Kit (for larger areas).
Hello, The Re-colouring balm is specifically designed to work on absorbent leathers, where it penetrates the surface and works to restore colour to the area being treated. During the restoration process, after application, we state clearly that any excess (that may rub off onto clothes etc) is buffed off thoroughly, preventing any such problem. The formula has been tested over many years and is used successfully by professionals and public alike, it is one of our most popular products due to its ease of use and fantastic results. As for the video, it reflects the performance of the balm on a real world example. We would never produce a video that shows misleading content, as a business we believe in being open, honest and clear with our customers. If you require any advice or further information on our products, please feel free to get in touch! Kind Regards, The Customer Care Team, Furniture Clinic Limited.
Your product description on your webpage indicates that it will work on pigmented/ top coated leathers. This is very misleading. If it can be done, please share the procedure because I would really like that. Will it at least absorb into the cracking, discolored areas of pigmented/top coated leather? That would also be very helpful.
Hi Marchesa15. Whether this process will work on a leather belt depends on the type of leather the belt is made from. It's important to carry out the water test shown in the video to check whether the leather is absorbent or not. If it is then this process will work well. If not, then a kit called the Leather Colourant Kit will be needed instead. We show this in our video 'How To Restore a Leather Car Interior'. The process is the same for other items of leather, not just cars interiors.
Is the price I see on your site in USD for shipping to Canada? Shipping shows FedEx Canada Ground so it must be shipping within Canada I assume? $25 to ship a $30 jar is not cheap and if it is in USD then that is just a tad pricey. Cheers
Hi Udo, orders from our Canadian customers are serviced from our New York office in the USA. We base our pricing on the rates we are charged by Fedex and don't make any profit on shipping. When purchasing a single, lower value item this cost can be high, but the proportion of the overall value shipping makes up is reduced as the order value increases. We regularly work with our couriers to try and drive this cost down, hopefully in the future we will be able to bring this down further for our customers in Canada.
The price we show at the basket stage is the price we charge clients for shipping from our New York site to their door, there are no costs added on top of this at any other stage in the order process.
So, if the leather is old and dirty, just add balm to it? Sounds like: if you have shit your pants, then just put some talkum powder, and put on some clean underwear... wouldnt it be better to get all the old dirt of first?
Hi, Claus Jensen Absolutely agree, (about the cleaning leather part, we can not comment on the analogy!) we would never advise applying the balm to leather before it has been thoroughly cleaned, at 0:35 we mention that the balm should be applied "after cleaning the leather" for this reason. In fact, we advise cleaning leather thoroughly before engaging in any kind of restoration or repair, doing so is the first step to good results!
***** We're unable to reply to you other comment so I hope you don't mind me replying here. If you're using the balm to recolour a faded area it is often better to start by applying the balm just to that area. You can then expand to a larger area if necessary.
***** You're right, our head office is in the UK, which is where I'm replying from, but we also have a branch in New York. You can find their details at www.furnitureclinic.com if you wish to place an order or contact us directly. With regards to the colour (with a U :)), you can adjust the depth of colour with the balms by applying more coats. The more you apply the darker it will go. We're also able to make bespoke balms matched exactly to your leather if you send us a sample, which you can normally find underneath the furniture. One thing I should point out is that the balm will only work if the area has gone a lighter colour. You mentioned there that it has dried darker. I don't know if this is darker than it was originally or darker than the leather, but that's something to be aware of.
Please check out the video on the website to see if this work better for you - www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/How-To-Restore-Leather There's also a step by step picture guide on this page which should be helpful
Hi, many thanks for your feedback. We are currently working on updating our channel and have uploaded a new video on restoring leather using our Leather Re-Colouring Balm. If you did require any more information on any of our products, we would be more than happy to help via email: enquiries@furnitureclinic.co.uk or tel: 0844 879 3691
Hi Russell. The procedure for this is to send an email to enquiries@furnitureclinic.co.uk or to call 00441207279960. If you let me know the subject of the email I will have my colleagues check that we've received this and dealt with it.
Hi Michael, the Leather Re-Colouring Balm has been designed to restore the colour to absorbent leathers. Unfortunately, it won't repair any damage. From your description, it sounds like the top coating of the leather could be peeling/cracking? We do have kits available to repair, recolour and/or refinish leather, depending on the damage. If you could send us photos of the damage, one of our specialists will take a look and contact you directly to discuss which product(s) will be most suitable. Email: enquiries@furnitureclinic.co.uk

Hi, any colour transfer issues? Thanks
Thanks! Just ordered the Balm and the Leather Care Kit! Hope this works on my old jacket. It's in great condition, just faded over the years and it's my favorite. I'll make sure to let you know the outcome! :)

Looks like this was eight years ago so how’s it looking now how did your leather jacket turn out
I love this product! My arms aching a bit but every little patch I'm just thinking 'wow look at that'. God I'm so rock and roll. :/

Will this work if you are only doing a small area? Will it blend in? Also will the result have a sheen to it or be dull?
Can using this technique if you are working small area? Will it blend?

Hi! Would this Re-Colouring Balm also be appropriate for leather boots? It looks to be exactly what I need for my discolored boots.
Hope this helps,
Let me know if you have any problems,

Thank you so much for your response! I will test my boots for absorbency and then go from there.
Is this product available in the U.S.A.?
Yes! You can purchase online at www.furnitureclinic.com
Hi there,
You can buy this product and any of our other products from our website, furnitureclinic.co.uk the link is under the description for this video.
Where do I buy?
Hi, here is a link to the product www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/leather-recolouring-balm-1
Would this work for microfiber leather
The Leather Recolouring Balm is suitable for absorbent leathers only. You can test this by dropping a drop of water on to the surface of the leather. If the water soaks in, the leather is absorbent and the balm can be used to restore the colour. If the water remains on the surface, the leather is non-absorbent and the balm is not suitable.
My brown leather couch is faded and non-absorbent. What product do you recommend.
Hi
For non-absorbent leather it would be a Leather Colourant Kit that's needed. You can see this being used to restore a car seat in the following video: ua-cam.com/video/OcvmSX34YFw/v-deo.html
Where do I get the leather repairing balm from

If it is absorbent leather it will sink in pretty quickly (it does depend on if there is a protection cream that has been added though). Hi I just received the Ultra Clean, Protection Cream and Re-colouring Balm, but the balm was damaged during shipment. The container was cracked and spilled all over the inside of the box. I sent an email to the company but thought I would mention it here also. Is there a replacement process when this occurs?
how can i tell what color my leather really is to me it looks like maybe a light medium brown
Would this work for Timberland boots?
Yes it would . We also have one specifically for shoes if you want to restore some shine too - www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Shoe_Shine_Colour_Restorer.php
FurnitureClinic Do you guys have a Canadian store online?
I'm afraid we don't have a Canadian store but we have a US site that you can order from with very reasonable delivery rates - www.furnitureclinic.com/
FurnitureClinic So could the Baige color be used for Wheat Timberlands?
Where can I get your products to repair my couches as shown in the video?
Hi Josh Almanza, all of the products in our videos can be purchased from www.furnitureclinic.com if you are from the USA or Canada, or www.furnitureclinic.co.uk if you are from anywhere else in the world.
Hope this helps,
Kind Regards,
The Customer Care Team,
Furniture Clinic.
Thank you for your reply. I will try it out.
Thanks for the great video as well. :)
Where to buy repair kits for leather furniture in Vancouver,bc?
Hello, you can buy these from the US based branch - www.furnitureclinic.com
At 2.20 they don't touch the leather to make it look like the bond won't rub off on clothes etc.
Hello,
The Re-colouring balm is specifically designed to work on absorbent leathers, where it penetrates the surface and works to restore colour to the area being treated.
Kind Regards,
The Customer Care Team,
Furniture Clinic Limited.
Your product description on your webpage indicates that it will work on pigmented/ top coated leathers. This is very misleading. If it can be done, please share the procedure because I would really like that. Will it at least absorb into the cracking, discolored areas of pigmented/top coated leather? That would also be very helpful.
Does this works on semi-aniline leather? I did the water test on my sofa and it doesn't get absorbed.
You need to clean any wax off the surface before using this.
The process is the same for other items of leather, not just cars interiors.
where can I buy this balm
+Jan Vaneeden the balm is available from www.furnitureclinic.co.uk or www.furnitureclinic.com if you're in the USA
+Jan Vaneeden - I think I'm going to have a balm movement in my pantaloons at the price!
Jan Vaneeden .
Going to try this on and old Eames chair knockoff I just got.
אזה צבע האים זה מגבן צבע הקרוי?
So why did you pretend to rub st 220?
I assume because he needed to let it dry then buff. He was making a video and didn't have the time.
Steve K I thought I was the only one to see that good eye☺️
Does this rub off on your clothes?
Why does no one ever watch the video before asking questions? He specifically says it right in the video lol
Thank you for the quick response. I sent an email with the subject being "Balm Received Damaged" along with a copy of my PayPal receipt.
Thank you OK
@@FurnitureClinic I assume there would be FedEx Brokerage on top of that as well?
The price we show at the basket stage is the price we charge clients for shipping from our New York site to their door, there are no costs added on top of this at any other stage in the order process.
Fake rubbing at 2:22 🤔
1:21 he's just rubbing it in gently, that must help the leather... oh holy crap! wait, never mind it's just fast forward

So, if the leather is old and dirty, just add balm to it? Sounds like: if you have shit your pants, then just put some talkum powder, and put on some clean underwear... wouldnt it be better to get all the old dirt of first?
Hi, Claus Jensen
Absolutely agree, (about the cleaning leather part, we can not comment on the analogy!) we would never advise applying the balm to leather before it has been thoroughly cleaned, at 0:35 we mention that the balm should be applied "after cleaning the leather" for this reason.
Volume. This video needs 2x the volume.
Please check out the video on the website to see if this work better for you - www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/How-To-Restore-Leather
There's also a step by step picture guide on this page which should be helpful
Volume is very low on UA-cam and your website's version.

What's up with the volume? I can't hear this guy and I can't turn it up anymore.
Apologies for the sound issues. We do have new videos available and are currently creating more so we can improve the quality.
Never mind, I found it.

Hi, many thanks for your feedback. We are currently working on updating our channel and have uploaded a new video on restoring leather using our Leather Re-Colouring Balm. If you did require any more information on any of our products, we would be more than happy to help via email: enquiries@furnitureclinic.co.uk
or tel: 0844 879 3691
Hi Russell. The procedure for this is to send an email to enquiries@furnitureclinic.co.uk or to call 00441207279960. If you let me know the subject of the email I will have my colleagues check that we've received this and dealt with it.
Will this work on leather that has light flaking?
Hi Michael, the Leather Re-Colouring Balm has been designed to restore the colour to absorbent leathers. Unfortunately, it won't repair any damage. From your description, it sounds like the top coating of the leather could be peeling/cracking? We do have kits available to repair, recolour and/or refinish leather, depending on the damage. If you could send us photos of the damage, one of our specialists will take a look and contact you directly to discuss which product(s) will be most suitable. Email: enquiries@furnitureclinic.co.uk
Will this work on car leathers that is not absorbent?
