Watching you working on those Florsheim Imperials took me back to the late ‘70’s when my dad would have his Imperials worked on. Whenever I watch the 2 of you, I close my eyes and can remember the smell of the leather at Square Deal Shoes in my hometown of Des Plaines, Illinois. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing work and for keeping the shoe Cobbler trade alive!!!

My father wore Florsheim Imperials that my sister and I called 'termite shoes' for the small holes in them. My father was very smart and was making over $50K yearly in the late 1950s and always had the best of tools, clothes, etc. I later realized that Florsheim and Bass and Allen Edmonds are all top notch shoes...

In January of 1982, I bought a pair of this exact shoe, Florsheim Imperial Wingtips, pebbled leather. Same shoe. I still proudly wear them to the office. I have no end of fun telling my staff and coworkers that the shoes I am wearing are older than they are, lol! My dad thought I was crazy at first to spend so much on a pair of shoes, fresh out of college as I was, but once I saw them, I simply had to have them. I told him this was going to be the last hundred bucks I'd ever spend on black shoes. He told me that if I took care of them, they'd last a lifetime. He was right. I was wrong, though, as a few years ago I bought a nice pair of Allen Edmonds black shoes, just for the fun of it. They're not nearly as heavily built as my Florsheim Imperials. The Florsheims are SOLID. Thanks for another awesome video!

I have a pair of Florsheim Royal Imperial’s that I purchased in 1979 for $375. They have been re-soled and reheeled probably a half a dozen times and they still look great. Heath did a beautiful job on those shoes.

I like too that you keep the captions up long enough to be read by old guys like me. I have never seen you guys add moisturizer to the inside of the shoes before. Have you always done that?

Funny how things happen. Several months ago I found a video pop up on my UA-cam feed way way out of my usual interest. It was a ferrier reshoeing and providing hoof repair to a horse. I was mesmerized. For the next week or so I must have found 5 or 6 ferrier channels. I still watch them from time to time. Now you guys pop up and now I'm watching human ferriers. I'm very impressed with your skills and devotion to detail.

There used to be many many shoe repair shop's in California bay area. When people wore real leather shoes, boots, they would have them repaired or resole and last many year's. Until the sneakers tennis shoes came along everyone had to have the latest style and shoes became disposable.

I also Love my Loake 1880 Chester brogues the same But never Had The Florsheim imperials which seem to be more popular in the US for some reason as here it’s Grenson,Loake and Trickers that are the most popular.

Nice touch with the brush strokes on the sole. Good to see Forest helping and learning too.

This pair looked like it was exhausted from all of its adventures, and by the end, reinvigorated to carry on and have many more!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Almost 40 years ago my father bought me my first high quality shoes - a pair of black Florsheim Imperials just like these. I wore them to my graduation, job interviews, first day of my career, and they lasted for years. Resoled them twice before they died. A sweet memory, as my dad is in end-stage dementia, and we’ll lose him soon. 🙏🏼

Amazing work, you have all the right equipment, but working with your hands is perfect.

Totally different feel to the video. Only one problem, I was watching after a 500 mile drive, I fell asleep twice!

Fascinating. When you were disassembling the shoe I forgot I wasn’t watching the Idaho farriery, similar techniques there (almost). Real artistry.

Am a fan of hearing your narration of the videos. I can put subtitles on if I want text. If I want music then I can mute the audio; put subtitles on and listen to some music. I understand that experimentation is fine but I feel your cobbler narration is the best for me.

Every pair of these old Florsheim Imperials is a national treasure. I have a pair of 93602's (brown) and a pair of 92604's (black) that I plan on having for the rest of my life. I'll never get tired of watching them be brought back to life. Great work!
