Penn State guys! My son and I ran into a group of alumni staying at the same lodge we were near Pulaski one year. We had gotten back earlier than them and had the TV, so to speak. They very politely asked us if they could watch the Penn State game; we obliged. They were some of the best people we ever stayed with at that lodge (I've been going there for 35+ years), they shared with my son and me all kinds of smoked meats, cheeses, and fish. It was a helluve fishing trip!
One of the very few times I felt people were putting out a video that is not about them but really sharing some good info and thoughts about fly design, skills, technics. Great to learn from you guys. I am 61 been fly fishing for a while 15 years...but learned a bunch from your video. Fun to watch.....thanks.
Dan, it’s Cory from VA giving you a shout out! We met at the coffee shop in State College. Great talking with you....could have spent hours but had to get on the road. Looking forward to more content from you so I can get my fishing fix. Hope to see you on the water!
Hey guys! Great job, beautiful creek and colorful fish. Love Winter fishing. Surprised you didn’t toss an attractor pattern, maybe next time. Thanks for sharing.
Believe it or not, I started out with a brightly colored egg and never got a grab! Of course it could be a result of Dan catching the first fish and me immediately switching to what he had on lol
With all due respect, this stream is not small. For me it's not even average size (i.e. it's larger than average). I'd be really surprised if brown trout do not reach 20 inches there. But a good watch anyway. Always nice to see some sort of consistent action in the winter. Also it would be interesting to know what temperature the water was to get a better idea of the conditions, but who cares :) Tight lines! :)
I would agree with that statement, I guess we are just used to big water haha we don't fish the smaller streams in that area very often but have heard from people catching 18 to 20 inchers so I would not be suprised in the slightest. As for the water temp, we never thought to take it but that would have been a very interesting bit of information due to the consistency we were having. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video!
We don't really do much bass fishing since there is just a lot more opportunities for trout in our area but we occasionally go our for smallmouth once or twice over the summer. Maybe we'll make a video. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching!
Hey everybody. My buddy is starting a channel called off the reel angler. We we will be trout fishing tomorrow morning where he will be shooting his first video. If you guys could show him some support that would be amazing
Great work guys! Did any of those rainbows have hatchery wounds? It appeared all bows had full fins and no scar marks. One of the first ones even looked to have white tips. I'm not an expert but I've only seen rainbows that pretty in streams where they reproduced. You might be on to something...
They all had nicely shaped fins but I'm a terrible judge of that so i couldn't say for certain haha I wouldn't be suprised in the least if they were stream bred!
My experience has been good. Not that I catch many large fish but I have landed some that were 20 inches and it performed very well. I have nothing bad to say about it!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed! That was just a pheasant tail but tied with Lively Legz for the legs. You can get the material at livelylegz.com Thanks for watching!
This particular stream is about a 1 to 1 ratio, with wilds being slightly mlre common. Some streams are 100% wilds, some 100% natives, and some 100% stocked hatchery fish and everything in between. There has been a push here of late to stop stocking streams that have a naturally reproducing population which seems to be gaining momentum. But really it depends on the stream haha
They very well could habe been! I'm not a very good judge of those things. Definitely supports wild browns so I wouldn't be suprised if those bows were wild as well. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
I need to do more research to find wild rainbows in PA. Any advice? Only a handful Class A in PA and very few in central pa on class A. Any help for finding them is a help. Just curious where to start the research. Great film trough guys. Well edited and thought out. Good luck in 2019!
Try and look for streams that are small and limestone/spring influenced that used to be stocked. It's no secret, but spruce creek has some wild rainbows (with a few huge pellet fed stockies mixed in haha). Thanks for watching and best of luck!
@@BackyardBassin Thanks, I will definitely keep poking around. The only issue with spruce is you need to know someone to get access and they do chase people out pretty good over there.
Lol PA offers the best fly fishing on the east coast, as well as extremely technical fisheries. If you do your research you will find world famous competition anglers come from central PA, such as George Daniel. We are blessed to live in this beautiful state. Again thanks for watching. Saw you enjoyed our Glacier video as well👍
Well we must be doing something right if you keep watching and commenting on our videos. Just a couple of brothers trying to catch a fish or two. Leave your ego off the internet, but by all means keep checking out our other videos. We enjoy making them
@@BackyardBassin Good for PA. Too bad they're all at that carrying capacity resulting in below desirable sizes. Good video quality, bad video content. I suggest improving your content and bout worrying so mich on editing. Too many poor UA-cam fly fishers out there.

That lively legz pheasant tail is a killer fly! I definitely recommend having a few in your box! Thanks for watching!
Nice fish. Those rainbows were colored up, nice big brown too. Glad you could get out in this crazy weather we're having.
It was nice to get out! Couldn't have asked for better conditions too! Thanks for watching!
Extremely well done. I think I’ll go fishing now.
That doesn't sound like a bad idea to me either lol
Great video fellas! BEAUTIFUL bows, and browns! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.
Always happy to share our adventures on the water! Thank you for watching!
Pretty rainbows and nice brown! I enjoy the tips you guys throw in as well. Tight Lines!
Awesome! Really glad that you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching Greg!
Awesome stuff guys! Thanks for the inspiration to start our channel!
Good job men and beautiful fish. Loved the tying intro.
I thought it was a fitting intro as well. Tis the season to do some tying haha. Glad you enjoyed the video though! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video guys. That stream is perfect size, allows for some casting room but easy to wade. I miss fly fishing PA.
It was a very fun stream to fish, great size! We're pretty spoiled, living here. Really glad that you enjoyed the video!
Great job on this video; enjoyed it very much, vicariously and otherwise!
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Only good fly fishing content on UA-cam! Love this channel!!
Thanks for the kind words! Really glad that you've been enjoying the videos!

Good to hear from ya Cory! If you are ever up this way to fish again let me know!
Awesome day. I do a good bit of winter fly fishing around NY, NJ, PA myself. Lets link up one day in the cold!

Thanks man! Appreciate the comment and glad you enjoyed the video!
Rainbows spawn in the Spring..

Glad you enjoyed the video! Tha k you for the feedback as well. We want to make the best video possible so your comment was very valuable!
Nice video guys!!
Thanks Dan! Hopefully we can find some time to fish together soon!
Backyard Angling yes Doug! I would love to fish with you guys soon!
Awesome video! Were you short line nymphing, with no indicators?
Great job!
Gotta love those 3 cans of Copenhagen. You going to give me some bud lol. Most of my fish have been caught on a frenchie, red dart and a quill body
Awesome job
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
Well done beautiful trout
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Some pretty rainbows! You have the lively leg nymph on point or dropper?
Hi Craig! We fished it as the point. Tied these ones with a 7/64 inch bead
Are you gonna make any bass fishing videos?
We don't really do much bass fishing since there is just a lot more opportunities for trout in our area but we occasionally go our for smallmouth once or twice over the summer. Maybe we'll make a video. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching!

Thank you! As for the camera we use a SonyA6000 with the kit lens and the 55-210mm lens. Great camera!
How does that recon protect light tip pit?

great video, what type of camera are you using?
We are using a SonyA6000. Thanks for watching!
Wish I had a backyard.
I hear they're nice for angling... haha thanks for watching man!
What is the ratio of wild fish and hatchery fish that you catch? Or are there hatchery fish in your rivers?

We are fishing in Pennsylvania. Thanks for watching!

What size rods we're you using?
10 foot 3 wt!
Nice! I have a 10' 4 wt
Can you do a video of how to set up nymphs
We will try to do something like that in the future. Thank you for the suggestion!
Make sure you wet your hands before picking up or touching those fish
Krik?
"Crick". It's a PA accent thing... creek vs crick

One last thing. PA has more miles of wild trout water than Montana does. Have a good night
