February 19. Been deathly COVID sick. This video is the 1st thing I have enjoyed in 2 weeks. Couldn't eat and slept for days. This has been my unexpected medicine, that has made my day, and hope to get well FAST to go fishing. " EXCELLENT WORK!"
So when u say let the flies go along the seam, should I shoot to have it in the actual faster current, right against the slower current or should I have the flies drift in the slower current right against the faster current....thanks
As a complete compliment, they should add Bill Spicer to the Oxford Linguistics Record as a perfect example of an Upper Canada English accent. It is truly a wonderful "dialect" and it should be celebrated.
I can’t seem to get past the chubs in the summer I live by Dunneville and fish the grand river just not the stream part and I fish my own secret spot but recently I’ve been struggling to get one this month
Awesome video! I'm brand new with fly fishing with fly line. I can't cast more than 10 feet. Lol I bought the Rio versiTip II but it won't cast? Any suggestions guys? And I fish for steelhead and salmon but I'm going to be trout fishing very soon. Thanks
Recommend you open your loop when casting to help propel the verse-tip. In the future we will post a video on how to cast sink tips with more detail. Here is a good one to watch that will help: ua-cam.com/video/P0B5tKKRSzo/v-deo.html
Start by putting put 10-15 ft of line. Hold the line at the reel and just practice the motion and watch the line as it goes backward and forward...If youre gonna start releasing line make sure to remember that the longer the line thats out the long u have to wait for the line to straighten before pulling back. I just started aswell but recently learned the Double haul and can cast 60-70ft with an 9ft 8weight. Goodluck!
The rule of thumb is 2 to 1, so if the water depth is 5 feet, then you would set the indicator at 10 feet. That is based on the bottom fly in a two fly rig. This the basic principle. As you get more experienced and experiment, you will find you need to add or subtract from this formula based variables such as water speed and fly weights. However, this is a good beginning point for getting your flies to the fish and having success. Good luck and enjoy learning with experience!
Believe me he's no amateur. Bill taught me how to nymph many years ago I was in awe of his ability bnoth to locate fish and get them to hit all manner of nymphs.
Fantastic for the beginning angler
I'm a beginning fly angler.
“If you’re not losing flies to snags, you’re probably not in the zone.” Dang I must be in the zone all the time! Even above my head and behind me!
I’m still gonna tell everyone I had a huge bite but deep down Ik it’s a branch

You got this!
Been out yet?
"If you are not losing flies to snags, you are probably not in the zone..." Love it! I'm in the zone a lot!
Scott Dalrymple, me too. That’s why I tie and carry at least a half dozen of the same flies every time I fish. Ha
Yeah nymphing can get $expensive right?!
Sometimes the ‘zone’ is the tree line behind me
Or you're just a bit crap.
Straight up G move at 12:29 when he catches one on the first cast after changing flies.
Implying degenerate gangsters are smart enough to fly fish.

That would be cool!
Trout are like Wall St investors....They seek the highest return (of food) for the small investment (of energy) at the least risk.
This was very helpful.

When setting the length of the strike indicator for a ( 2 nymph rig ) are you doubling the length from the top nymph or bottom nymph? Please help ?

Not really, usually with euro nymphing u do not use a strike indicator. Here is a video on this: ua-cam.com/video/eFe5et0mwFY/v-deo.html
30# fish? Maybe half that. 40" lake trout are 20# - 30#
His fishing glove kills the fish
That fish's chances of getting a disease are increased greatly. To much handling of fish removes their protective slime from their bodies
Take that float off. Sir Issac Walton is rolling in his grave.
I’d marry bill if I got that last name.
Who really uses split shot anymore!!!
people who dont only eruobait?
