When he started I thought he was going to say there was a major defect. Look like it is just one video mode and a button issues is all he could find wrong. This still sounds like a very positive review. Am I missing something?
There's another downside of using the gyro. You'd need to film at a much higher fps, since the stabilization tends to artifact on blur. So, you loose motion blur, and you will struggle more in low light environments.
Dude, the slide you moved to remove noise is the noise COLOR slide, that only removes the color noise created by the pixels of the sensor. You have to use the slide "Luminance" to actually remove noise.
I like the regular grain and texture of the image. just don't like the color artifacting. removing the texture also makes it look too smooth and plastic like and requires compensation by adding sharpness
lumix s5 ii & canon r6 ii are the direct competitors , i was considered to buy a7iv but finally end up with lumix s5 ii reason >> no overheating fan integrated , C4k & 6k 10 bit , 96mp pic , 30fps burst shoot , best image stabilisation & direct LUT implement in the camera 😎

Its great but the rolling shutter is horrible. It would have been my favorite camera if it had decent rolling shutter performance. It is a 7/10 hybrid camera for me. On photo side there is not much more you can want except a faster burst rate like 15 frames per second considering canon r6 is super fast. But video side heavy crop on 4k 60 and bad rolling shutter. No open gate option. Just can’t give it higher then 7 for that reason especially with so many options today. Very good camera cant go wrong with it

If mainly using for video, consider the FX30 or the FX3 (I owned the latter). They won't overheat as they have internal fans, and are built for this...

Gerald undone has a good review video up. The Sony GM 1.4 is the best if price isn't an issue. Sigma 1.4 DG DN right behind it if you'd prefer to save a few bucks.
"Highest resolution for a midrange camera..." - yes "...Without going into something ridiculously expensive..." - well then you are not talking mid-range anymore are you? And if you are gonna start talking about R-series, you can get an Rii or Riii with higher, full frame BSI sensors, and almost identical dynamic range and practical levels of noise. So if resolution is all that matters at this price point, get an A7Riii instead.
one of the best for sure. Like someone might say the a7rV is the best because its 60mp or the gfx 100s is better because its 100mp. but i think its on the team for best cameras

I got my a7IV for almost 3 weeks now and I am really satisfied (but still keeping my a7R III). Do you think that 4K 60fps does affect the aperture? I mean, when using Super35 we know that the focal length changed by 1.5 factor, 24mm becomes 36mm. What about the aperture, when opened up to f/2.8 will it record with the f/5.6 effect?

RGBW CMOS or quantum dot graphene enhanced CMOS could dramatically improove sensitivity which is needed in high resolution camera's.
