Mike savored this interview like the last piece of chocolate cake in the fridge 🤣 Easily one of my favorite episodes .... the veteran and animal lover in me was not disappointed. How Jeff held it together telling Frank's story was beyond me ... I was pulling my hat down low in the gym listening to that part 🤣🥺 Excellent job, Mike and Jeff 👏👏👏
Frank was bonded to you. You were his guardian angel. It was the best thing to come home with you than be separated from you and have a terrible end. He knew love and got to experience grass and other enriching things he never would have if it wasn't for you. Thank you for helping him. Sorry for your loss.
This was a fantastic interview. My husband and I kept up with Jeff the whole way. We learned alot about the Iditarod. We would love to visit 2 Rivers at some point. Thanks Mike for all you do. Great job.
This has to be my favorite episode. When I realized Jeff Reid decided to run the Iditarod I kept following, until the end… yet missed all the details until now! I pictured the race as he told his exciting story. Thank You for Interviewing him.🙏🏼🐾
I am so glad that I finally clicked on this... I've seen it new kind of was hesitant to click on it just cuz it's not really my thing but dead serious after listening to all of this I truly admire and envy that man. Thank you Mike and thank you Jeff
Awesome interview. I don’t think I’ve ever watched anything for 4 plus hours before, and remained attentive the entire time. Jeff’s a great guy, and it was great to hear his story like this. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him talk this much, he’s usually been pretty quiet whenever I’ve been around him. As a musher, I especially love all the mushing bits and Iditarod, but the whole thing was great.
All I can say is I see your next challenge Mike!!!!!! Get your team together! Get your choice of media involved (patreon) accept donations or something. Bring people to the sport! You got it!!
Loved hearing about Jeff and Frozen tridents start when he was on Shawn Ryans podcast, so cool to now hear this podcast years later now that he has done the Iditarod! 😬💚
one of my favorite episodes of Mike Drop, this is all new information to me and its really interesting. the story of stealing Frank A.K.A Frink back to the U.S. reminds me of something I would do. Great interview brotha
Saw a clip of this and came straight to the full video! That's the SOP when you see Mike had another weredog on the show. Great stuff as always, haven't been here in a while need to catch up on some shows.
Great setup for a documentary, not only for Vets ho need to find new inspiration but just the subject of the Man-Dog relationship, Iditarod rusty and ball busing challenge, etc…For some reason, I am thinking about helping Veterans like Mike Day. Great job, again, Mike.
Native of Miami FL. as a kid I'd go to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Tarentum, i believe it was..for half summer, visiting grand parents. Got to know all the kid's in the big hills of, the large acreage surrounding the area.. late 60s- early 70s.. over time I played sandlot tackle football, and wrestled a few guys.. they all seemed to be good people, and very strong for their age. Great athletes too! My father who grew up there, told me these kid's from the country have to work on their property at a young age tending the farm, making them physically strong early in life, and humble too! This guy here is a product of that area... not surprised! Semperfi bro!
Mike, if ya get the chance read “Horrie the war dog” by Ian Idriess a true story from WW2. A stray dog adopted by a platoon of Aussie diggers saved the lives of many soldiers…
Would love to see Jeff check out, work with etc some of Mikes dogs & his kennel! Then Mike go check out Jeffs dogs & kennel set up, how they run/work & then test if any will do any bite/protection work! Then if they pass his tests do a breeding with one of Jeffs alaskan huskies & one of Mikes Belgian, Dutch, German etc dogs to see if they create the ultimate running/sled / family protection/bite work etc! Would be grea for people in Alaska and other climates/activities similar and also other countries/states that are colder, get more snow etc bur they still need that raw insanely talented cooler/cold weather family protection dog that also does dog sledding etc! Mike and Jeff would have an absolute blast in that whole process from breeding to training!
Tooth is a cool deal ...i might steal that ... i have a half chow half pom about 40 pounds came for the 5th ward houston after Harvey hurricane... loyal as they get ... can't do much physical damage but is willing to fight to the end....patrols in or out of the house 24/7 nothing gets by her rather its a house fly or a crackhead ... she lets me know to get the bang ... i give them 1 chance to move on and don't come back ... if you do we both understand what where looking at .... texas 11b...thanks for the content... everybody have a good one ...
Steve o frm jackass has an awesome story about how he got his dog Wendy. you should def have him and his wife on ! they're obvvy not vets, but they're huge dog peeps
