    My 19yo son went shooting with some friends and Daniel was there. He said he was super super cool and helped my son shoot better long range. So Dan, if you’re reading this, you should know who I’m talking about-he brought out his M1 Garand that day-thanks for treating my son so well. He still talks about you and that day.

    This guy has been doing this since 18 and all he went through while in service, then gets out and has to worry about money really says a lot about our government. When a bartender becomes a Congresswoman and is now a multimillionaire but this guy is scrounging for money ticks me off.

    • @bce2516
      @bce2516 6 місяців тому +5

      The government shouldn’t be involved in giving anyone money. If you aren’t making money it’s usually operator error. Bad choices are likely the culprit. He could go be a plumber tomorrow but probably doesn’t want to. It’s not about what people want. Adulthood= getting a job you hate and working it for 30 years. Plenty of jobs that pay. He just doesn’t want them which is his problem. Not the governments.

      Only people from high socioeconomic stations should be in congress? Is that what you're saying? Lowly bartenders shouldn't have a say, but you should? Not very "we the people" of you. Yes, he, and everyone at his caliber, should make a shit load of money. They are the best of the best and do incredible things.
      Also maybe look at what AOC has done objectively, or don't. I don't care either way.

      @@jmart0450 I dunno what bartenders you’ve met…. I can 100% say they shouldn’t have a say at all. Haven’t met one that’s not delusional. I’ve watched AOC get torn apart in hearings because she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Which most bartenders I’ve met don’t either. That’s why they aren’t working a better job making better money with better benefits. She got voted in by progressive people. People who literally want the government to do everything for them WHILE complaining about how terrible the government is. If you don’t understand how dumb that is then I dunno what to tell you.

    The way Daniel described the circumstances surrounding his departure from devgru speaks volumes... I'm convinced this dude possessed a fairly high degree of self-awareness, relatively low levels of destructive ego, and judging from the accolades and commendations he received from fellow SEALs throughout his career and leading right up to his departure from the command, I get the sense that he was truly an exceptional operator, and was in no way a disruptive or corrosive component of his squadron/team... And I think it goes without saying that so much of what happens at that unit (and within organizations of all sorts in general) is affected by politics and the interpersonal relationships between teammates, and definitely between leadership and the men they lead... I get the feeling, and he pretty much admits as much, that these politics can often overshadow what could otherwise be a truly exceptional operator's performance and career progression. At any rate, I'm glad he popped chocks the way he did -- You can tell he was comfortable with it, he had accomplished what he had set out to achieve, and there was no ego involved at that point -- he could simply move on to what felt like the right direction to head towards without any reservations or shame or whatever. From all available evidence, seems like a genuinely decent dude...

    • @flexinclouds
      @flexinclouds 3 місяці тому

      I mean, he mentions several times how he was arrogant/cocky, partying, drinking, chasing women, and just treating the teams like a day job. That being said, most of that's common in that career path.. And it seems that he was competent at the job. But I can understand teammates having issues/not trusting him if he acts completely uninterested. It is what it is though.

      @@swayzefan3600 As stated by the prosecutor, former American special agent Corbett encouraged the accused Nikola Vučeljić to buy him a CZ99 pistol with the factory number removed for a price of 1,500 euros. In its closing statement, the Prosecution reminded that Corbett claimed that he came to Serbia for business, but not what kind of business, and stated that they did not go into the purpose with which the illegal weapons were acquired.
      After Corbett's arrest, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić commented on the case on television:
      "Imagine finding a guy from Team 6, who was after Bin Laden in Afghanistan, with a sharpened gun here and the criminal connections that supplied it to him, and they're silent. Well, it's not like it was supposed to be used to shoot catfish or perch in the Danube," said Vučić.
      At the trial in Belgrade, which began in January 2019, all the accused pleaded not guilty. According to the indictment, they said that they acquired the gun to shoot at the shooting range, while they explained that the phone correspondence, which was suspected to be related to the purchase of illegal weapons, was about an agreement to buy impotence pills.

    As someone who was a leader in the military for over 20 years. His Seal team superiors failed him. I’ve had folks try to get out with zero plan. I would put my dad hat on and make sure they were setup with some type of roadmap to succeed. If it wasn’t looking good , they’d be presented with the likely outcome and offered an opportunity to stay in.
    Some would call it intrusive, but I didn’t care. I didn’t want to have situations like this on my conscience.

    To hear the spring in the mag shaking, it would have to be empty, if it has bullets the spring is under tension and I doubt you could make it shake

    One of the best episodes, unfortunately it cost me about 3.5 hours of productivity. They have got to build a movie franchise around this character.

    Another great interview Mike. I was not expecting the arrest in Serbia!! The thing I found funny is a navy seal didn’t have diving skills…. Unless I misunderstood.

    As i wrote under the other podcast he was in, that Serbia story is not really clear to me. Or he left something out, or he was just set up by his employer or whoever. When talking about Serbia you have to understand following things: the most influential person here is the US ambassador. For every decision our president will "consult" him. Then CIA headquarters for this part of the world is in Belgrade. Then Mossad and Israel in general have a lot of personnel here, Serbia is huge weapon exporter to Israel, Israeli clubs were playing their home games in European competition here in Belgrade, our presidents main advisors and pr agency is from Israel, etc. So knowing all that isn't it little bit stupid that some Israeli billionaire will send him here to try to find dirt on some guy?
    His story was in news for couple of days, week maybe. But anyone living in Serbia knows that we have heard in media that someone wants to kill Vucic like 57 times so far. Just basic propaganda. So it wouldn't be surprise that someone set him up, because he was just another nobody, for politicians people are just objects.

    Crazy strange that a Tier 1 Committee deciding the fate of each Candidate trying out like this guy has some insecurity picking people that are great bc they cocky! What an Oxymoron.
