Beautiful reports. They are almost like audiobooks, told in calm but not boring tone, I feel I could listen them while lying in bed as lullabies :)
Such praise!😊I was a bit unsure of the format, so I am happy to hear it is being enjoyed.
Never have my neurons been more activated than seeing the thumbnail and title of this video in my subscription feed.
this is way better then seeing every die roll. I would like to see more of these battle reports
Love those, keep em coming. Also, the models are painted perfectly!
The "super-effective" got a chuckle out of me.
Thoroughly enjoyed this narrative forward battle report style
I do believe this is the first 10th edition battle report on this channel where the Imperium didn't win... because it didn't partake. Additionally it continues the trend of Chaos losing every time it is featured.
lmao
I respect the use of Phantasy Star music!
Awesome painting!! Loving this "Short" Battlereports!
Glad you like them!
Great report! Hope they keep coming.
Also, the wings on that Lord of change is amazing.
That's the plan! And, I totally agree. The owner of that Tzeentch army is a great painter. Even the bases are painted!
Ace miniatures! Two thumbs up!
This is a strong format
Oh yeah! Have been waiting to see the Gengar bugs in one of these :D
The lore vid was so well done, a buddy remembered it as beeing official GW XD
Glad you enjoyed it! I put a lot of effor in that the lore vid, and so that is quite satisfying to hear.😊
Awesome. Would much rather watch your sweet armies with the great narration than watch people roll dice for hours.
you have no idea how happy it makes me to see the beautiful hive fleet gengar models finally get a chance to show their awesomeness off on camera. sadly no metal gear tyranofex 😔but i'm praying 🙏
This is a sentiment i agree with. Batreps which are too one sided always fall flat for me, so I was happy to be able for Gengar to 'debut' with a tight game.
- Looks over at metal gear tyrannofex, "Next time baby".
I despise chaos but you know what. At least they aren’t bugs. Go Tzeentch. Do your schemes.
Great paint jobs mate
Well done.
Really cool to see Gengar doing the thing.
Gorgeous models. These battle reports are so smooth and digestible.
Excellent work!
Glad you like it!
Very nice battle report! Even though I don't care for either army I still found this quite entertaining. The armies looked awesome!
Fantastic, always nice to see some Tzeentch representation!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks!
These battle reports are awesome! 🎉
Happy to hear the content is appreciated. And, thank you for the super thanks! Know your generosity is truly appreciated.
Loving this more concise format, especially as someone new who tries to wrap his head around a Tzeentch-Only demon army in 40k.
Gotta ask though - should passing all those tests around 10:30 not have triggered a bunch of healing for all demons in the Shadow of Chaos?
Stunning paint scheme, Purple really gives Nids the alien vibe to them! The Norn Emissary would look insane with this paint scheme, if the Maleceptor actually looked like your conversion I’d buy it! Great rules but the model is god awful looking
Thanks for the Gengar love. I also agree with the Norn Emissary addition... Plus, I already have a conversion in mind for a Gengar Norn Emissary.
@@WhatThe40k Can’t wait to see the data sheet for the Norn Emissary it’s gonna be a monster!! Nid codex coming first so hopefully September time we should know when it’s being released 🤞
cool
Very enjoyable video! Thank you!
Which model is that Hive Tyrant one? It looks awesome
I am happy to hear you enjoyed it! My Tyrant model is 3d print scultped by Butov. You can find his stls on 3D cults. I made some slight conversions to the sword, but other than that its essentially just the .stl.
@@WhatThe40k awesome thank you!
The sword is looking really good! Congratz
Positive comment
Hi bud great video again as always! Love watching the content! I've watched the how to paint Gengar but how do you paint the pale wings and the swords? I'm starting a Tyranid army and love your scheme!
Happy to hear you like the batreps! And you're right those elements were excluded from the paint scheme video, mostly due to the sword being worth its own video and not having any winged units in the army at the time of filming.
The wings are easy enough to explain. Essentially, its a mix of game color offwhite plus army painter alien purple (creating a pale purple) to serve as the base. Then we're layering up going towards the center of the wings adding more and more white to the mix.
The swords are.... complicated. I'll try to explain it as simply as possible. Its essentially free handing a lightning pattern (use reference for a good look). The paints used are citadel: flashgitz yellow mixed with game color: off white, as the pattern base. Then, citadel: lamenters yellow glaze to enhance the hue, this should be traced along the pattern overspilling to create a more glowing effect. Then add a pure white for the brighter spots.
@WhatThe40k Mate I massively appreciate the education! I can't believe you painted those weapons free hand, very impressive! Il have a go and see how I get on! Again thank you so much for the speedy reply! Army looks epic.
I love your battle reports and 1,000 points is the scale we play at... Do you use any limitations at 1,000 points? or do you just agree on thematic armies?
Funnily enough my play group usually plays at 2k.😂 But when I organize these batreps with them I usually outline what I envision for the particular theme. For general 1k limitations, I'd be okay with pretty much anything but there needs to be an understanding of what's being brought - like if 1 player bring 1000 pts of dreads it might be a real bad time against certain armies. But I guess that applies to all 40k games.
pls more
I'm really enjoy these battle reports. Question can you do a Thematic Alpha Legion loyalist build? I'm trying to build around the Plasma and Phobos but I'm afraid I won't have enough Anti-Vehicle firepower to deal with heavier armor units(Knights, Custodes to name a few)
Thanks.
Firstly, thank you for the extremely generous super thanks, I truly appreciated it!
As for doing an a thematic loyalist Alpha Legion list build.... maaaaybe?🤷♂️😂
My channel goal for 10th edition is to release content at least once per week, but the truth of the matter is the thematic batreps take up most of my production capacity. Though, sometimes I am not able to coordinate and make thematic batreps happen, so, perhaps next time that situation arises I'll do up the first thematic list build for 10th.
However I do want to give you a more substantive answer for you generosity. I think if you're trying to heavy flex plasma you are innately going to have a hurdle with the high toughness vehicles as plasma is really situated for Anti elite infantry/light vehicles in 10th. The Redemptor Dreadnought at least maintains high strength in melee, so I think they would be a must for plasma flexing. And if wide spread plasma flexing (I presume hellblasters, inceptors) is a thematic pillar, I think it can be bolstered, through the use of 2-3 storm speeder thunder strikes, which can mark a target giving all other units +1 to wound, and it also happens to have a lascannon equivalent missile weapon too. Also worth remembering oaths of moment can help a great deal towards plasma going into high toughness. There also seems to be a decently scary hellblasters led by apothecary and or lieutenant w/bolter discipline unit combo for what its worth.
@@WhatThe40k I appreciate you responding so fast. I was reading up on the Alpha Legion and it said they preferred plasma and conversion beam weapons so I was trying to do a thematic list centered around that. However I’m also trying to keep the army roster as if I’m playing in a tournament so it’s been a challenge for sure. How would you go about fielding Phobos units? I don’t know if I want to run a big brick of incursors or a 5 man infiltrator and a 5 man incursors squad. Would running a Invictor Tactical Warsuit to compliment the Redemptor Dreadnought be in the cards?
I can appreciate the challenge trying to keep to theme while under tournament standards😅
As for phobos use I definitely think they have a place. Infiltrators denying deepstrike within 12" does offer a certain amount of battlefield control. And the captain in phobos does offer a bit of sniper chip damage while providing further battlefield control via his redeploy ability. Phobos libby essentially gives lone operative to the unit he is attached to, so you could have eliminators perched up somewhere able to fire with virtual impunity. All of which feel very alpha legion to me.
I'm split on infiltrators vs incursors. One offers deepstrike denial and the other grants army wide plus 1 to hit on a target they mark. Might come down to preference. What do you value more control, or offensive efficiency?
The invictor is intriguing, but I haven't put it to practice yet. Being able to 'fire back' at a unit which fired upon a phobos infantry unit is interesting, but it does have quite a bit of conditions. If I can shoot your invictor dead first, its completely negligible, though, maybe that allows your phobos infantry to remain in control of their objective. 🤷♂️
Though what is neat is the invictor has the phobos keyword so, if my understanding is correct he can be redeployed using the captain's master of deceit ability.
@@WhatThe40k so this is what I have so far as a army list:
1 Phobos Captain
1 Phobos Lieutenant
1 Phobos Liberian
1 Primaris Apothecary(attached to hellblasters)
1 Primaris LT(Bolter discipline/attached to hellblasters)
3 Eliminators
6 Inceptors with plasma guns
10 Hellblasters
5 Incurors
5 Inflitrators
1 Redemptor Dreadnought with Plasma
2 stormspeeder thunderstrikes
1 Vindicare Assassin.
So what would you add or change out of this list?
I would want 2 redemptor dreadnoughts. Perhaps the points can be found by removing the Vindicare (which I have a personal bias against 😅) and maybe trimming down the Inceptors. Mind you this is without any playtesting, which would always be the best way to determine what's what.
Om nom nom yummy psychic pseudo-biomass :3
I love the chaos representation in these games, but i think 3 chaos factions in a row may be a little much 😅. Let some other factions shine.
