Ive just bought one. Had a test ride and ordered one straight away . So much fun to ride . Forget about the old 411 enfield this is a completely different animal ..love it 👍
I like that you emphasize the centerstand. So few bikes have one these days, only Royal Enfield still fit one to all their bikes. And as we all know, chain drive sucks, chain drive and no centerstand really sucks!
Yeah really chain drive rules...shaft drive blows. Huge power loss and handling quirks with shaft drive... you are probably just a lazy ass and don't like maintaining a chain...
Thankyou Mark have watched this review many times now, and have placed an order for one in Playa Black, after having 2 test rides, picked this over the 400 Speed, the centre stand and proper front mudguard clinched it for me. Please keep up the good work.
Another brilliant review, Mark. I love that RE has included a centre stand, a decent length yet still good looking front mudguard and higher than usual handlebars. I reckon they'll move Triumph aside with this and the Himalayan.
G'day Mark, Royal Enfield have hit the mark with this 450cc motorcycle, the rider that doesn't want a big cruiser motorcycle who want a no fuss bit of fun on the road be it in town or country this bike will do all that and RE,s reliability is renowned that's why l have two, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
Like it mark, I feel like this is the RE I've been waiting for. Been half tempted by the ridiculously pretty hunter but held off due to the lack of power, still probably an absolute joy on the country lanes though. This one looks right, has the right amount of power and some decent upgrades in equipment which probably makes the extra outlay worthwhile.
@cyborg5407 they could fo so much better with hunter 350 in terms of ergonomics ,looks They couldve easily upgraded that to a 450 with few changes to fit the sherpa engine.
Hi Julian....for a single cylinder at normal speeds up to 6 k rpm it's remarkably smooth...above 6 k it does have vibes but nothing too bad Pointless revving too high because all the power is made in low/mid range Cheers mark
Amazingly FEW negative things 😀 As usually - an extremely positive review. Bike looks pretty decent. Pity it needs valve intrusion so often - it is shims now - not as before - could be fixed with a screwdriver and pair of pliers...... Honda has gone from 25000 km UP to ~ 50000 km between valve checks. Enfield should have done better here.
beautiful bike and very nice review 👍 BUT..i am waiting for the supposed Himalayan 650..i already have a bought new 2021 Himalayan which has been through 3 UK winters and is showing minimal rust to be honest (frame is as new, just engine bolts have tarnished, my givi engine bars have rusted more than anything)..i love it and couldn't ever sell it, it is my commuter and heavily loaded up with camping gear touring bike..a true reliable workhorse that i have serviced myself after getting ripped off on the first service dealer cost 😁 RE bikes are very reliable , have good quality parts and are brilliant for long term ownership 💪 edit: never been sprayed with any rust inhibitor like ACF50 etc
Had plenty of quality / reliability issues with my 2020 Interceptor. I really like the look of these but not sure I could go back to RE again. Nice review as always.
I feel this puts the Hunter in a slightly unknown area now, I found myself hoping they’d put this engine in a new Hunter but…. Well that’s just this bike really.
@@SumeetBGoode I've ridden that and also the Guerilla now aswell. Surprisingly I found the Guerilla much more hardcore than the nk. Christ this thing just wants to burn rubber, nothing down low then boom almost like a two stroke. Both are exhausting in their own way, I don't like the squished position of the cfmoto but the Guerilla is a head banger compared to any other royal Enfield
I like your reviews, best of all you are the same size as me, although a little less girth, so when you sit on the bike it could be me. I was nearly tempted by the Triumph but this is also tempting and I like a centre stand.

Japanese need to wake up quickly honda 350 H'ness is out there . Love the different paint schemes. Great test thanks Mark.
It certainly looks good, even in this black, a colour I don't usually like. The red and yellow flashes complement the black nicely. Nice high wide bars facilitate a perfect riding position. I like the tyres. If I was looking for a direct replacement for my 390, this would be it. I looks a lot better. Heavier, though. Excellent review, Mark.
I'm now on my second 650 RE, and I really like the bikes (only for weekend fun, have other bikes for all year round commuting). It's only when you need warranty repairs, that I find my uk dealer to be so frustrating that I no longer use them for servicing and this will be my last RE (I always intended to keep this one for a while anyway) certainly from them.
What was frustrating about your RE dealer? I'm thinking about one of these and I live quite near a RE dealer so I thought it would be handy when I need stuff doing.
If this bike had came out before the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400, it would sell like hot cakes here in Europe. But now it's gonna face some serious competition. I have a feeling that it still gonna sell well, especially because RE has already built a reputation for itself, and I'm certain the bike will be aggressively priced as per usual from Royal Enfield. That being said. I would pay the little extra for the Triumph.
good looking bike and well thought out it would seem, looks like a proper ball of laughs to ride and very capable as well, and a very comprehensive review as well, best I have sen on this bike so far
That bike looks perfect for you , tailor made fit . And yes ..... a centre stand , nice bike .Good specs too. I actually think that's the best R.E I've seen so far . Good little commuter/ tourer for one up . Cheers Mark another cracking review .
, Thanks for a great review, I rode one at the City tour event at Boxhill in Surrey , loved it ! , have had one on order since the 17 th July Launch , A brava Blue one
The servicing would appear to be expensive as they now have shimmed valve guides that require inspection and adjusting at a very low 6k miles and again at only 12k miles. That service interval is incredibly short. Yamaha is at 24k miles as one one of the best. Short of high-performance dirt bikes I can't think of another bike that has such short intervals for their shimmed OHC setup.
Nice review Mark 👍, is there a tool kit under the seat?. Not sure if you mentioned it. Also again not sure if you mentioned it 🤣, was you in sport or eco mode?.. overall i like this better than the hunter, purely because of the power, But i prefer the paint job on the Hunter. Well done RE on a lovely bike, cheers Mark 🙏
Another good review Mark, if these had been around before I got my Benelli Leoncino 500 trail, I would have been tempted. The performance looks similar to the benelli though.
Rode the new Himalayan and was very surprised how good the overall feel was. The engine is just brilliant. Would love to try also this one. A great step ahed for the RE. Really. Great video Mark. Properly your style. :)

I was just wondering wondering when you'd review this bike, Lo and behold here it is! Thanks Mark, great review as always! Personall I way prefer the Himalayan !
i was disappointed by the Triumph 400... most of my riding is 2 up wife on back.. so we went for 650 interceptor..... lovely bike... but had i waited another 4 weeks i would have almost certainly got one of these 40 bhp is enough for us... the backlanes are the new place to enjoy biking... the race rep and the dual carriageway era is LONG gone.. .. ..nice review..
Thanks for the review, interesting bike and the TFT is a winner. But where are the warning lights? I've made the mistake of forgetting to cancel my indicators. I wish bikes would have haptic feedback on the indicators. I'm not sure about the model name though, it's awkward.
Nice one Mark, good looking bike for the money...Any chance you can get hold of a Fantic Rally 125 in for a review mate, am thinking about buying 1...Any reviews are all european and none in a english 😞

Not a bad looking bike. I like that black and the gold dip the best. I will be honest I think I like the looks of the new Triumph 400s a little better.
Hi Mark, excellent review and the very first proper review I've seen and been eagerly awaiting. The Playa Black you rode is my favourite and I'm just waiting for my dealer to get a 'Demo' in. Like you, I've got the Hntr in Rebel Red and have done nearly 7000 miles in just under 18 months, brilliant bike!!! Unfortunately, it may have to go if I like the ride on the Guerrilla 😥I'm 'old school' and the Guerrilla kind of reminds me of what a Triumph Tiger Cub (200cc) would have grown up into, with that sloping cylinder ...... it's right up my street. Thanks again for the review. Cheers, Phil (Somerset)
Im torn between the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 & the Kawasaki Eliminator 450 🤔🤔 both bikes have their good points 👍 i like the classic look but with modern dash technology ! Think the Enfield has that & mor3 technology , Kawasaki Eliminator is lighter & abit faster , ive watched 8 different reviews on both bikes & everyone gives great wraps on both bikes , im lost & undecided hey ! Do you know anything about the Kawasaki Eliminator 450 ??? Any advice for me ??? Steve in Bundaberg Australia 🇦🇺🕺🍹
Hi Mark! Great video as always Please give me your opinion about the best bike for you, Voge 350 AC / Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450! I m from Portugal, and i like to see your reviews , and i thinking to buy une off Of these two motos! Many thanks!
Great review as usual, for the money I think they are excellent bikes. Like the Himalayan version a brilliant back road tourer and commuter and certainly suited to the short of leg, old RD colours too👍.
Lovely bike and great review. I’ve been awaiting this bike for a while. However can you tell if it would comfortably fit a 6’3” guy like myself. I’m just worried it might be too small.
Hi you could definitely ride it ok .... you'd be big on it but there is still quite a lot of leg room ...try and get a demo if you can ...don't know how far you are from Poole Moto ? Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Cheers for the quick reply Mark, I’m actually in Ireland and I know it’s due to arrive here end of sept, so will definitely get down and try a demo then 👍
I prefer my mt 03. It's lighter, lower, more economical and has a turbine smooth peach of a twin cylinder engine. In addition, it has no reliability issues and it's handling dynamics ( same as the r3) enable me to keep up with my friends riding much larger bikes.
Hi Trevor...the hunter is great it has a character of its own but yes if this had of been around at the time I would have bought this instead Cheers mark
@@markpulling12Thanks for reply. I'm in a similar position, I purchased my Hunter about three months ago as a second bike,. Cheap, easy to keep clean, do love it, but would just like a few more HP to overtake, so the Guerilla would seem to tick those boxes. Now trying to work out a cunning plan to sell the idea to the other half!!!😂
Very nice indeed. Overall, I prefer the look of the Triumph 400, but it seems like this may be the better bike. Quite tempted for a local run-around in the countryside near where I live. Just hope it is big enough for a 6ft rider who needs an upright position and decent legroom and regularly carries a pillion.
Make a fantastic winter commute bike, Thruxton R can sit in the garage and I can still ride all year.. I was thinking about the Triumph 400 with dual sport tyres only the other day.
Hi Mark, another great view. Currently have a Hunter and did think about putting in an order a few weeks back when the Grr was launched but decided to wait until I could get a test ride. Any plans to replace your Hunter with the Grr or Triumph 400 ?
Hi Michael I don't have the hunter anymore nothing wrong great bike but I always chop and change because of what I do with UA-cam But I'd definitely consider one of these ! Cheers mark
@@philbailey1397 A reasonable question Phil. This would/will be a second bike for me. A sunny day ride, so aesthetics can take a lead over practicalities and capabilities I guess. I love the looks of the Speed 400. Additionally there’s excellent and established dealer support for the Triumph in my neck of the woods; not so much for Royal Enfield.
Yeah, good little bike from Enfield, but for me the triumph tho' about £200 quid more, would be worth it, a little more classy, but the looks of the Triumph sell it! Whereas, the enfield styling is a bit unsure, something not quite there, which is a disappointment, as the bike, in every other way seems a decent rival. No bias here, as i own and cherish my royal enfield 350 signals edition. Thanks for the video.
That bike does look good and a surefire hit for Royal Enfield. I was surprised to see the bike in the showrooms now, it looks like RE are getting their act together. Mark, would this tempt you to buy one as you did have the Hunter? I'm still considering the Himalayan.
Hi I don't have my hunter anymore... great bike nothing wrong...but I just chop and change alot due to my UA-cam work ....but yes I would definitely consider one of these Thanks 👍
I did a testride with the CL500 myself and I loved it. I didn't buy it because that model seems to be finished when the Stock runs out. and the comfort for a pillion is not great. The comfort on the Guerrilla for example is better. I prefer the looks of the Triumph 400x. I think the Guerrilla is a very good motorcycle but I felt a little bit cramped in my hips so I would order the higher seat for sure but the thing is. I don't like the color schemes on the guerrilla. All the best 😉
@ I’m going CL500 in March, because you can still get the old colours but discounted to £5,500 or I think it’s just over £6,000 for the new colours, brighter display and a new better padded seat. I liked the Guerilla 450 but much preferred the twin cylinder engine in the Honda. Both bikes a lot of fun tho😀
@@simondemetriou7750 what I've heard from several Honda dealers is that they would not took the CL500 in the Honda Line up anymore in Belgium, Holland and Luxemburg. So indeed. Normally they CL500 cost around €7200 but now there is €1000 of so €6200 for the Honda CL500. A good price but like I said. The problem will be here is that once they all got sold it is immediately an old motorcycle model. And for reselling it is not a good deal. They were hardly sold in Belgium and Holland. That's why I am not buying it. Engine wise it was the best from Himalayan & guerrilla 450, Kawasaki 500 twincilinder I've tested the last weeks. I mean it that I feel sorry that Honda decided to take it out of the Honda range here. So that also means that is will not be sold with the better display for example.
Hi Mark, it`s a nice looking bike, but, like a lot of modern bikes, it does`nt have a rev counter, i always like a rev counter, i wish my Speed 400 had a proper rev counter, not that piddly little thing in the tft which can be hard to read. I do like the overall look of the bike, and the quality looks far better than the Hunter. I DON`T like, the rear footrest hangers are welded to the subframe, possibly a whole new rear subframe if you have a spill, and bend or break the rear hangers?. The rear lights, again like a lot of modern bikes, stick out far too far, and would need a better looking after market accessory unit fitted. I have`nt studied the colours yet, but at a quick glance at the picture you inserted, the white with blue wheels and accents looks better. You can see why it is priced cheaper than the Triumph, conventional forks, cheaper grade tyres, a more basic TFT clock, BUT, i do like the addition of the centre stand. That said, is the centre stand, like the sump guard, front mudguard extension, and radiator guard an optional extra, which would hike the price up?. I know they`re options on the Triumph, so i would imagine they will be the same on this bike. Once again, a great review, thanks for posting it.
Your ride reviews are the best i have seen so far in the business MP! You really do it indepth to give the viwers a comprehensive experience. Cheers🍻

@@markpulling12 Sounds perfect! 👍
@@marcosousa4762 hi thankyou.... Can I give you a better option
Cfmoto 450 nk
Best wishes mark
Thank you very much, Mark, I'll take a closer look and then decide👍
Great review as usual, for the money I think they are excellent bikes. Like the Himalayan version a brilliant back road tourer and commuter and certainly suited to the short of leg, old RD colours too👍.
Lovely bike and great review. I’ve been awaiting this bike for a while. However can you tell if it would comfortably fit a 6’3” guy like myself. I’m just worried it might be too small.
Hi you could definitely ride it ok .... you'd be big on it but there is still quite a lot of leg room ...try and get a demo if you can ...don't know how far you are from Poole Moto ?
Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Cheers for the quick reply Mark, I’m actually in Ireland and I know it’s due to arrive here end of sept, so will definitely get down and try a demo then 👍
Another great review we are being spoilt for choice in this small capacity market
An excellent review as always Mark. 👍
Many thanks Stephen:)
Good review. Personally I still prefer the cf moto 450 twin cylinder engine.
@@mattstringer7838 shhhh psstt
Me too 😁😁😁😁
@markpulling12 I'm biased though as I have a cf moto 450 mt 😀
I prefer my mt 03. It's lighter, lower, more economical and has a turbine smooth peach of a twin cylinder engine. In addition, it has no reliability issues and it's handling dynamics ( same as the r3) enable me to keep up with my friends riding much larger bikes.
Hi Mark. Great review, however knowing what you now know, would you have preferred to wait for the Guerrilla rather than purchasing the Hunter?
Hi Trevor...the hunter is great it has a character of its own but yes if this had of been around at the time I would have bought this instead
Cheers mark
As always mark a great review,,....wot would you have from royal Enfield,,as a do it all bike
From royal Enfield.... probably this in the stunning yellow 🟡 and 🟣 purple colour scheme
Cheers mark
You are very good for this job you do 😊 Bay the way nice bike .
@@c-31100 many thanks 👍 I really appreciate that 😁

Great review, as always 👍🏻
Make a fantastic winter commute bike, Thruxton R can sit in the garage and I can still ride all year.. I was thinking about the Triumph 400 with dual sport tyres only the other day.
Hi Mark, another great view. Currently have a Hunter and did think about putting in an order a few weeks back when the Grr was launched but decided to wait until I could get a test ride. Any plans to replace your Hunter with the Grr or Triumph 400 ?
Hi Michael I don't have the hunter anymore nothing wrong great bike but I always chop and change because of what I do with UA-cam
But I'd definitely consider one of these !
Cheers mark
Great review mark, thank you
Royal Enfield is the toyota in 2 wheeler segment period. The reliability, build quality is excellent and even exceeded my expectations.
Lots to like here, centre stand, loads of info on the display but………. I’d still take the Speed 400.
Great review Mark!
Why
@@rbattson7171 I agree the triumph looks just right whereas this guerilla just looks like something doesn’t look quite right 🤔🫤
Looks like RE is going up 😀
How is the pillion comfort?
great review (as usual)
Thank you for your review!
That bike does look good and a surefire hit for Royal Enfield. I was surprised to see the bike in the showrooms now, it looks like RE are getting their act together.
Mark, would this tempt you to buy one as you did have the Hunter? I'm still considering the Himalayan.
Yes I would but one ....but I'd have to try every other 400/450 again before I totally made up my mind lol 🤣
Nice review. But... would you swap your Hunter for one? 😊
Hi I don't have my hunter anymore... great bike nothing wrong...but I just chop and change alot due to my UA-cam work ....but yes I would definitely consider one of these
Thanks 👍
Great review Mark……..I’ve got a RE Dealer in my town, and am gonna test a Guerilla and then a CL500 soon 😊
Thanks let me know what you think 🤔
Interesting, would you buy one? How does it cope over all the potholes and trench lines?
Hi yes I was really impressed 💯
I'd buy one for sure ...it was very compliant over all the bumps
Cheers mark
Hi Mark, not sure if I missed it but were you able to check out the rider modes and differences between them?
Hi yes I did try the eco mode briefly... couldn't feel much difference tbh
Just kept it in sport
Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Righto, thank you for the quick reply and keep up the good work!
It remineds me of an old ED350Lc from my youth! Nice!!
