I mean that makes sense, demons are known to deceive.
Aaron: computer midi SD programed file
They play completaly different, there's no comparation, one of them is very agressive and brutal, the other one is melodic and search more for a sweet sound. They both are amazing, they do different stuff, but still amazing.
Agreed. This comment sction is full of Chris simps. Aaron shouldn't be compared to chris. Different styles of play entirely
Totally agree. Makes me think whoever made this doesn’t play drums…
totally agree
Too different lol. I prefer Aaron, but I’m a fan. The only thing I like about OAA is the drums. Other than that, it sounds like shit(imo lol I listen to mostly slam and brutal death). It’s super subjective.
one of them is fake , and one is a legit drummer.
Metronome: hey I'll help you keep time
Chris: no u
Chris:I'm the metronome here
Chris has abs on his arms
Aaron has abs on his legs
😄
Touch never home alligator
Cant wait till u see Aarons hand abs
Accuracy hahahahahahahaha
True lol
Aaron has them on both arms and legs.
I can't believe u missed the best part of the cuntcrusher play through with the best Gravity Blasts I've heard in any song EVER!

And ? 🤦♂️
Ocean ate alaska escapist.
@@gregozymandias3799 the point is this shit is programed and chris isnt, so aron doesn't have the consistency that his material would require
Chris is a human metronome so I feel bad for anyone who has to go up against him lmao
AtomicShane Matt Garstka anytime
ShaneOh id like to see him and Tomas haake do a drum battle that would be something
Aaron Kitcher is a human drum machine
@@metalheadforlife9293 ooohhh that would be fucking insane
Oh fuck I’d have to agree that’d be gnarly.
Why do none of these comparisons use Aaron’s black tongue drum cams? They show him playing live and what he’s written with a touring band
Who cares if its live its still all triggered, he just plays really fast on triggers there's really no comparison.
@@alexandermcgregor9040 another one of these people who think triggers are magic🙄if you don’t understand anything about drums, just say that
Exactly what I thought he's fucking Boss on dem drums n that pentagram on the snare ahah
Chris Turner vs Midi File + SD 2.0
I'd go with Chris
Why the people said '' Aaron = Trigger "
People are Jaleous cause is so fast 🤣
Yes it is triggered, no it’s not all programmed, if he does program, he says he can play what he programmed. Main part of it is only triggered though
ua-cam.com/video/_YUKEowJV4M/v-deo.html
Aaron actually recorded the first 2 albums with e-drums. He set the threshold full up and recorded each part seperatly to make it sound more brutal and fast --> his facebook qna
Lol
Over all its ....chris turner...
He got so much versatility...
Imo his drumming is quite boring. Just check the infant annihilator album battle of yaldabaoth dude the drums there are so "versatile" like ppl like to call it.
@@matin2825 I am yet to see Aaron play in the setting that Chris does. Chris doesn't use triggers, does it all in 1 take, and doesn't use post production to edit placement of notes
Until I see Aaron perform under the same circumstances I dont think there is any competition at all. Its so artificial sounding
@@inherentmetal2446 it's almost like he's playing so fast you need triggers to hear clarity but your an anti trigger boomer
@@inherentmetal2446 and also the last video of Aron was live so......
@@willharvey3605 I think triggers are fine. But when you can see clips of his feet syncing up in some sections when in the audio I remains even it raises suspicion. And again, im yet to see him play in the same setting that Chris plays in and thats for a reason. He cannot play what he plays on the album accurately
Chris doesn’t trigger and all of hits are indeed that precise and audible.
The foot work alone with him impressed me far more than just speed.
That power is unmistakable.
Yeah his hits are "audible" like you call it, but both are very precise. And ofc he doesn't trigger and his hits are all clear, it's cause he isn't that fast.
You ever been in the room when he plays? You ever feel the air from the power and the consistency of all the hits? How do you think Aaron plays so fast? Triggers will equal out any inconsistencies. It's incredible that Chris can play with that consistency and power without the aid of any triggers or modification of his sound, what you hear is what's actually being played naturally. Aaron wouldn't sound the same playing acoustic kit without triggers
No Front, they both Play Good but I think Aaron is just incredible fast and Chris too but Chris playing seems more Creative and technically
To me it’s a tie they have their own style and talents, Chris has the versatility and grooves down whilst Aaron has the speed
Aaron uses triggers
Onion Rings Of Saturn
Pretty sure Rings Of Saturn’s drummer also uses triggers.
Aaron has speed but cant maintain it live
Aaron programs his drums and CAN'T perform what he programs.
So shut up, Aaron is nothing to be impressed with.
It's a literal joke that he is in any kibd of vs video.
He comes dead last in any of these segments.
Jerad Scharrer ur mad
Diferente técnica. No pueden ser comparados
I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the open space!! Leaving space is so underappreciated.
One of the biggest differences has got to be the triggers. These are both absolute beasts in every possible way I could not imagine playing at such level. Hats off.
El Estepario Siberiano put this myth to rest recently, you should check his take out from a stadium-filling performing musician's standpoint.
If were just talking skill I'd wager Chris could play both their parts but not vice versa. Chris IS drumming.
Chris probably wouldn't be able to keep up with the speed of Aaron
@@neferpitou7796 exactly
@@neferpitou7796 nah man chris be changing times that are inhuman. He can play at any speed. His music orientation is not deathcore 280 bpm
Chris stated in 2022 that he could play full despised icon albums when he was younger. He can most definitely keep up with Aaron
Always love oaa and ia both amazing drummers
In that clip you used of Decapitation Fornication, Aaron actually screws up on the first triplet sixteenth note roll and ends up almost doing unison strokes about halfway through. That being said, he’s still an amazing drummer.
Chris Turner. No doubt.
Did you even watch the video
Будто на концерт сходил. Спасибо
Both very talented, but two very different t styles of metal.
Both drummers have great technics for their styles, so I honestly couldn't say one is better than the other.
I liked both drummers styles, sounds and technical ability.
After reading loads of comments I thought I would add a non metal head drummer's take on this.
First off I really don't see the point of double kicks being used as a machine gun for very long. It's always been an effect to me and never the base of the groove but it seems to be the requirement of this genre. The speed both have in everything they do is very impressive but Chris was way more interesting to listen too.
Just for the record I'm a Keith Moon style of drummer who ( no pun intended ) only uses electronic kits for the last 19 years.
Chris Turner is too intense to think other drummers even exist.
Chris Turner takes this hands down, no question, no second thoughts required. Chris records his drums completely natural, no triggering, no tricks of any kind, just raw, unbridled talent. Chris is consistently one of the most creative, interesting, and bone crushing drummers in metal. By the time this guy is all done he will go down as one of the greatest metal drummers of all time.
Aaron's triggered lightning fast kick is only impressive for so long before it becomes "Yes, and......."
It's not tricks, it's just wholly different production/recording/stylistic preferences.
Same way I could say that Aaron takes this hands down, being very distinctive because of the immense speed and brutality. On top of playing like a lunatic his grooviness is very apparent. Though triggered(and sometimes programmed, like the latest album), that speed requires so much dedication and training it is not even funny.
This is a matter of taste, they play very differently, have completely different motives and play for different results.
In my mind it is really unfair to compare them, they are so different. Apples to oranges.
WTF does triggering have to do with it? Are there really still people who think triggers do anything but modify sound?!
@@Goblinsack2 no but unless Aaron can make his performances sound as good as Chris' do without triggers (you know, playing acoustic drums) then... not as good?
@@Goblinsack2 are there still people who think Aaron can actually pull this shit off live?
Seriously, if you use a 35 second clip of him playing "live" as proof, you are high.
If he was this good he'd have more than one or two grainy, poor quality recordings of him "live" and two painfully edited home recordings.
He's a hack. You've been had.
Sick!!!
both deserve the crown in my eyes.
through my ears they both are creators of good shit.
It's not even a competition. Chris is, BY FAR, the better drummer. Never uses triggers, never does fake playthroughs and plays everything almost perfect live. Aaron has no technicality, just speed that he, himself, can barely even keep up with during any performance I've seen of him playing.
In the final part of the video when Arron is playing on a kit that is just kick, snare and hi hat if you listen when he goes to double the speed of the kick drum the acoustic sound of the kick doesnt match the triggered sound. I think that someone turned up the sensitivity of the trigger input.
OK!! The only thing I can say here is, A 🐠 can swim and a 🐦 can fly. But both can play 🥁
Arron is just straight batshit crazy bonkers funny AF lol
Both are amazing
I love the extremely "eeeew" face of Aaron 😂
5:23 what in the hell was that
Bass
Wtf
Arron meat right there
2 géneros diferentes no puedo comparar ya que no están en el mismo canal para decir quien es mejor uno más creativo versátil el otro es una metralleta
Chris-can actually pereform all the stuff live and has a great creativity, power and chops
Aaron-does fake playthroughs
Cope
Wdym?
What is chris-can...???
@@Revulsion360 Aaron kitchers playthroughs are fake, they use album audio rather than the actual drums in the video. Also he misses half of the hits. He's still good but just not as good as the video.
ua-cam.com/video/_YUKEowJV4M/v-deo.html whats this then?
This is the video that got me into Oceans Ate Alaska
Chris, definitely
Chris definitely, Aaron is fast but one dimensional
Yess! Chris already transcended to multi-dimension hahaha
thats the point of the band.
Chris is my fav drummer I can’t wait to hear his new music no hate but I would say he won but the other drummer does have unique mad skills never stop drumming 👊🏻
Aaron’s way way down breakdown was the bomb!
You dont know Nottingham about drums thats why you say aaron because you think speed makes a drummer amazing
Te recomiendo que remplaces el nombre del tal Aaron y compares a Chris con Matt Garstka. Sería bueno saber la opinión de la gente sobre quién creen que es el mejor entre esas dos máquinas. Saludos!
¡Lo haré! Saludos :)
There's nothing to discuss in here!! Starting from real videos without speeding editing images or mixing sounds and real drums sounds to whatever computer and camera tricks and magiks. Its just a drummer against a guy who plays drums
andré pereira Aaron is a real drummer tho
Lmao dude I've met the guy in person and seen him actually play this shit clean af. He did a clinic years ago where he demonstrated decap and it was genuinely clean. There was maybe one slip up but that's fuck all compared to what he was actually playing
@@johnathanwilson1363 who are you referring to again?
I just want everyone to know chris has blatantly said in many interviews and studio sessions that he VOWED to never use triggers, he wants completely raw, accoustic sound through microphone, then mixes the track after. Aaron has also made it aware himself that he DOES use triggers. That alone invalidates this whole battle
ua-cam.com/video/-Ecbu3X7y-k/v-deo.html
Aaron uses triggers???
@@tabls5874 did you see him in live concert? Yup, me neither
@@onlyyou1974 when you can play at that speed there's not enough time for a full beater swing on the kick pedal so to compensate for volume a trigger is kinda necessary
How? There's nothing wrong with using triggers? Most metal drummers use triggers. Once you hit a certain speed, it's impossible to play that fast without your strokes being super quiet. It's just to make the volume of the hits more consistent, especially if you're using heel-toe technique to do double strokes. It's not like it's cheating.
While Aaron may be extremely fast, Chris is more innovative and complex in his playing
Yeah! Chris uses a lot of tempo changes and syncopation... So difficult to execute! But both are actually insane drummers, just so different from one another
Yes Chris is more groovy then Aaron, but Aaron could play what Chris plays easily.
@@stanish9181 we couldn't know
@@stanish9181 Neither could play the others' parts easily, if I had to put money on it though, I'd side with Chris.
thats the whole point of the band.
If you drum hard enough to look like a psycho stalker while playing, chances are I'm impressed. Chris is DIALED in. He's my pick. So much respecr for Aaron, but Chris is the champ here. He impresses me... metric modulation, little compression because he hits so damn hard, uses his hip flexors even for his fast kick parts... he's a monster. They're both great, but damn, Chris. Go check out his playthrough for 'Heir To The Throne' for I Am Abomination.
I know one thing they made Arron in the same factory at Cyberdyne Systems that made the Terminator... That guy. Is not human
Science topper and Arts topper but in the same class
How are they different to compare you can hear in last video the real drum getting hit at the same speed when the computer kicks in lol
but 1 thing is for sure, that is Chris doesn't use drum triggers.
No comparison really... One guy that swears by no triggers or manipulation, and one guy thats only using them.
Joe Brownless wym?
@@SlayerSpaz ???
@@SlayerSpaz Aaron you dingbat
Chris doesnt trigger Aaron does. Very clearly.
@@sebastianbennett3471 I mean he's literally usiong e-drums in the beginning of his part

what's the 3rd song Chris is playing
Comparison is a little weird since it's 2 different genres. Like djent vs deathcore.
Aaron might have speed but he doesnt have the power like Chris
Watch his drum cam footage in black tongue, I definitely think that’s Aaron’s best work rather than IA
When aaron plays this live then we can talk.
Aaron. In my opinion.
Are u serious 🤣🤣🤦🏻
Chris wins 100% as his video isn't edited to make it look like he's actually playing at the real speed
videos arent edited mate.
Los dos son distintos !!! amo los dos , no rompan los huevos ahre !!!
Chris for sure
how to compare musicians of different techniques and styles? Does that make any sense? I like them both in their styles. But, comparing them would be kinda hard ...
Doesn't matter what genres do them play. This video shows their skills as drummers, it isn't comparing metalcore and deathcore.
This is a great debate, but i think it all boils down to who has some sweet teetays on their wall in the background....we all know who the winner is, its me for noticing it.
If Aron plays this brutally, why doesn't upload constant videos showing his technique? There are only 3 or 4 videos and they are more than 6 years old.
Aaron Kitcher is simply amazing.
guys why are you all complaining about aaron using triggers, triggers aren't magic. You have to be really talented to play with triggers too. I know that in the battle of yaldaboth aaron doesn't play the drums but they are made with computer, but this doesn't stop me to say that aaron is my favourite drummer. And btw aaron plays live with other bands.
I think they're equalled in talent but chris puts that flavour I like on it
Both are a funking beast 😎
Aaron can't even nail those inhuman speed live, Chris win this contest any day
There are live videos of him doing it?
@@Judigilb i've seen that before, but as i said before he couldnt nail those parts smoothly. You can hear the bass drum notes played in triplet instead of singles. No hate for him though, i love IA it's just that the band wasn't meant to be a 'real band'. but when it come to live performance, Chris is far more superior
That's because they don't play live obviously.
@@Judigilb yeah but it doesnt sound like the recordings because they did him dirty with a 5 piece kit and no triggers
In terms of who’s a better drummer, you’re compared a Subaru which can do everything well to a Bugatti Chiron which is only speed. Both have their own disciplines
A Subaru makes a god awful noise tho
That Bugatti Chiron is also a simulation. Aaron can’t actually play any of that stuff live, because half of its programmed.
@@atomictoaster8013 Programmed or not he is still able to play 260bpm+. Yes he’ll need to do multiple takes and splice/quantise but that’s what you do a lot of the time as a professional artist
How the fuck do people still not realize that iron catcher doesn’t actually played live. Everything from Infant Annihilator is programmed.....
I think a fairer comparison would have been Chris Turner vs Luke Holland. They are two drummers at the bleeding edge. Aaron is just speed and sample replacements. Like he's good, but not good enough to be compared to Chris, it's not even a competition.
ua-cam.com/video/FVfdv7XKSns/v-deo.html
Ah! I'll give it a go :)
Chris
Chris: technical
Aaron: brutal
I would chose Aaron if his playing was real
El mejor sin dudas chris, tremendo batero
Por qué Chris?
Porque arón no puede tocar eso en realidad es pura computadora
The one who's not a fake drum programmer
Chris.... he actually plays it
Exactly
Chris also doesnt use triggers and he knows dynamics where as aaron would have to
Yea idk about that
Aaron is clearly moving hands
No creo que esta sea la comparación más apropiada. Ambos bateristas participan de géneros distintos en el metal (entre otras cosas más).
Aaron's got speed at the sacrifice of not having the higher caliber of fills and more complex timing start/ stops. Not sure why Chris has to play each fill like its the climax either lol ruins the actual ability to make a climax where it's needed . This is the harshest criticism I could give because I really admire both . They are both so overly talented its not a matter of who is better but who uses the talent better . I see more versatility with Chris on his set which ultimately is what keeps people watching . Gets boring seeing the same thing . Kool vid !
5:24 caught me off guard
Chris turner has anazing feel. The first guy.
5:24
LOL
Chris all day
I'd say chris, got the Tomas hakke / Danny walker feel. I like his style, but Aaron is a machine, ungodly quick.jesus! Never heard greater double bass mastery
Nothing says metal like a constant cymbal crash and bass drum farts.
Aaron : the Flash
Chris : Superman
Ya, flash as in, when u flash ur ass... Cuz he is ASS. Horrible drummer
O Chris também é bom
I think it was intentional that Chris’ play-through of High Horse was left off of this...anybody seeing that would never doubt his speed lol Chris takes this one for sure. Aaron is good, but lacks versatility
I didnt put high horse cause i use it in other video, so to not repeat drumcams
Fran Chernobyl that would make sense lol only reason I said it was because I believe that to be his best work. Link to the vid?
Chris. Hands down.
Why hands Down?
so this like (mostly-) real vs fake drums comparison. I hope I do not need to say which one of them is the fake one
If we’re going by which is a better musician, Chris clearly has a better grasp of music theory & music writing, but Aaron is still incredibly technical. In terms of who’s more impressive, Aaron. Who’s a better musician and songwriter? Chris.
Well there's a difference. One is real (chris). One simply isn't (aaron) and it still surprises me that no one understands that. I met chris and he straight up told me that
How's aaron fake?
