The movie nobody asked for but everyone wanted! The film was amazing!
Just saw it and omg it was awesome. I don't even care for Star Wars, not a huge fan or know a lot about it's lore, but omfg it blew ep 7 out of the water. I hated ep 7, it was so unoriginal and no attachment to characters. This movie had far superior writing and you actually felt attachment to characters. I hope they make more spinoffs like this film because I don't have much faith in the newer episodes with how 7 kicked it off.
+Nojatha I don't know about you but I was wanting to see how the rebel alliance got the plans. Being told it was beamed to Leia's ship was not enough for me. So for years I looked into the story of Kyle Katarn and all that. Even with the rebooted continuity I am VERY happy with this movie. So yes I did ask for this

This movie.. This movie is a freaking masterpiece! It has the Star Wars futuristic but classic feel to it. It has a fantastic ending, outstanding characters, and it adds a darker tone to the Star Wars franchise. Truly a spectacular movie. Already seen it 3 times and I always come back to the trailer to feel the hype. 10/10.

This has proven that the star wars franchise can be good without Jedi or lightsabers.
There's an underlying threat related to lightsabers in this movie tho. One is the Deathstar powered by kyber crystals, and the other one is Vader who was a Jedi, and uses a lightsaber.

large framed performers", including Spencer Wilding. He's also being voiced by the original voice of Vader; James Earl Jones.

Don't forget S7 of The Clone Wars. Rebels also had some really great storylines
JJ Abrams had a very good plan for the trilogy that included stuff like Rey and Chewie stealing a star destroyer and Finn leading a stormtrooper revolt but Kathleen Klux Kennedy screwed it up by giving creative control to Rian Johnson. If JJ had directed the sequel trilogy it would have actually been able to compete with the OT in terms of how universally loved they are

Kathleen Kennedy gave creative control to JJ Abrams in TFA, and did the same to Rian Johnson in TLJ. The only movie she interfered in was TROS, which would have sucked anyway because JJ Abrams cant come up with original stories (which is why he just made an updated ep4) and RJ had already used up Episodes 5 and 6..yet JJ still opted to recycle whatever he could from episode 6 and make it different from what was used in TLJ
The music in this trailer is absolutely phenomenal, better than most of the music in the movie itself. Gives me chills every time I watch this trailer.

This movie does a great job of representing what it would actually feel to be like on the front lines of a war like this. You feel pride, you feel hopelessness and loss. You truly feel the consequences of beings mere mortal fighting an unbeatable force

Is it bad that I enjoyed this movie more then The Force Awakens , this movie to me is a modern masterpiece - and force awakens was just a really good film in my honest opinion , I wasn't really fully satisfied with Force awakens but when i saw Rogue One .. my dreams were finally fulfilled.
Both are great movies, they are just different types. This was more of a war movie than a traditional star wars film and was closer in tone to Empire Strikes Back. I loved it but it was kinda weird not seeing any jedi or lightsaber battles and I wish we could have learned more about a couple of the characters, like Saw Gerrera.
Now the movie in your avatar on the other hand.... That was just awful, from my point of view. :o
Sarah Santos Saw Gerrera appeared in The Clone Wars series and will appear in the next season of Rebels, so, for those who watched it, he was kind of a familiar face

Not at all. This movie was absolutely epic and tied in very nicely with the rest of the series. With TFA we got a very good movie, but one that 1. Is the exact same plot as episode IV. 2. Has the very definition of a Mary Sue as the main character. and 3. Has a storm trooper that has guilt issues killing anyone but the people he spent his life liveing with.
What a fantastic movie. I saw it in theaters with my dad. There is a theater complex halfway between the towns we live in so we were going to meet up there to see it. I got there first and was waiting. I got both our tickets because he seemed to be running behind. He got there but was ready to call the whole thing off because he had been running late and forgot his phone, plus it was raining. I told him I already purchased our tickets and just said, "Let's just go. At worst we just missed the pre-preview commercials. In a few minutes we will be in our seats and watching Star Wars." He went along and afterwards said he was so glad I talked him into staying. Plus after that we both drove back to his house and watched Episode IV from the blu-ray set I got him the previous year for Christmas. What a great day that was.
I had a similar theater experience. It was winter, because Star Wars movies used to be released every winter, but it was raining too. A freezing rain. I waited with my family for my grandparents to show up because they wanted to see the movie as well, so we missed a lot of the preview ads. I remember noticing that a lot of the scenes in the trailers and TV spots were cut from the actual movie, which was disappointing, but everything about the film was absolutely magnificent. Rogue one will always be my favorite Star Wars movie, because you simply cannot get the same feelings from Revenge of the Sith, the Sequels, or any of the other star wars movie.

You mean besides that fact that she totally destroyed force awakens with her discriminatory hiring practices and ego? She gives jobs to women because of their gender and pushes men out who actually have experience producing movies and acting in them or who out perform their female counterparts. It was obvious in Eps. 7, it will be obvious in Eps. 8......They need to fire her for hurting their revenue. Without die hard fans like myself StarWars is just another brand. Deno Moto Funny how that isn't even remotely reflected in her production history - out of the sixty-some movies she's produced, I counted about seven with female leads. I guess Steven Spielberg was just BARELY tolerating her and her feminist rage during the thirty years she produced movies for him, since he made only one (The Color Purple) with a female lead during that period. But, y'know, I guess if you have a woman running the show without an "alpha male" like Spielberg to put her in her place, she'll just go around "enforcing" the casting of people who aren't anglo-saxon men. And apparently she'll get rid of white directors too, even though none of the new/upcoming Star Wars movies actually have non-white male directors. So even though there's clearly tons of white men running the show at Lucasfilm, she still produced a movie where a woman got to hold a lightsaber, which obviously makes her a raging feminazi.
