Clarification from the brand after posting: The 12 hour marker represents a north star which was used by mariners as a guiding light to navigate the seas
Thank you for taking your time with the Marinor Xavier!
Badass watch, I just bought one. Love this company’s design. My wife doesn’t give a fuck about watches but said the North Star was slick. Good shit.
As long as we got the wife’s approval it’s a winner haha. Enjoy yours man
Great looking piece, waiting for mine to ship in June ❤
Hope you love yours. Shouldn’t be too far away now
I like this more than the fifty fathoms haha. Nice color and nice features, and for the price it’s hard to complain about anything imo. Thanks for the review!
I'm a bit confused, it says "skip to 7:07 for the lume shot. Is that leftover from another description or something?
It is a little confusing. I mean to skip to 7:07 In the just one more watch video I have linked below
It is worth mentioning that the lume has been improved in the prodcution models!
Very nice looking, but I personally feel like the "star" at 12 is a little too big for my liking.
Completely fair. I like the flair about it. Different from any other marker we see, but agreed it could be smaller
Gorgeous watch!! I love the dual color symmetry. I hate the spelling of “marinor “
Ya maybe they just wanted to be unique. Or liked the way it looked. Not quite sure!
Thank you! Marinor actually stand for Mariner and North (star)!
Is this the Atlantic Blue? That's the best looking one for this design imo
No this one is the Caribbean!
@@theknightswatch I feel like that style of colorway doesn't really work with this style of watch. Mido ocean star or doxa sub 200 have nice carribean styles but this style suits dark blue/black better
J’❤
I'm honestly confused. This watch is basically a much better looking fifty fathoms with a scratchproof bezel, case, and bracelet... It has on the fly micro adjust which even $40k watches don't have...a bubble sapphire insert and a movement that if Swiss would only be seen in $1000+ watches... All for $620 retail... Why the mediocre response to it? If this was sold by longines you'd be calling it a grail for $4000. Reminds me of how the alpina Ocean Star heritage is better and better looking than the longines legend diver but nobody cares somehow. The north star looks bad though
I’ll have to look into the Alpina. I usually don’t love that brand just because most of their pieces are too large for my taste, but I’ve enjoyed them from afar.
I don’t think I came across lukewarm on this one, I do think it’s a fantastic watch and as the title suggests, a fantastic diver for the price. Always things to improve and like you implied, very diminishing returns once you go to some of these luxury brands
@@theknightswatch I meant to say Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage, the ocean star heritage is from mido which is also good. Definitely not big and probably my best watch (bought for $650 lightly used but better than the LLD imo).
I'm not really criticizing you specifically, I just find the watch community very odd. They hyper-obsess over some watches that are objectively 5-10x the price of what they're worth..many of which are outright ugly as can be proven by asking any "regular" person and yet countless much better watches are being produced for much better prices and get ignored or mocked when they're rarely brought up. Like again, why is the alpina seastrong heritage ignored while people will give up a kidney for the LLD? It's very odd and I think the secret reason is people care more about flexing brands than they pretend to care about things like "heritage" and "movements".
That arrow hour hand. It reminds me of Trump's "tiny hands". It needs to be almost twice the size. Other than that; it's a good looking watch.
0:50 This trend of a tiny white arrow tip at the end of an hour hand needs to die already. A watch should be easy to tell time at a glance - particularly on a diver. I also don't know how you can consider it a "dressy diver", it looks like an homage to one of those terrible Russian divers.
Agreed on the arrow tip, but what would you consider a dressy diver?
It looks like a fifty fathoms... One of the most high end divers that exist. Go buy your apple watch
@@user-tx4wj7qk4t It did not even stand close to Fifty Fathoms.
"Go buy your apple watch" -- 🤦 🤦♂ 🤦♀
@@mountainhobo You're right. It looks better and doesn't get scratched. And sorry you prefer fitbit?
@@user-tx4wj7qk4t "And sorry you prefer fitbit?" -- Don't struggle with humor attempts. Accept it, some have it, some don't. Embrace your shortcomings.
Ist this just a Lorier Neptune ripoff?
I don’t think so. Lorier are taking inspiration from an era just as this one is. Different bezel, indicies, case, bracelet taper design. Lots of differences here.
@theknightswatch the bracelet and clasp are almost the same as the first bracelet Lorier did
A ripoff of a brand that exclusively does homages? Lol. If anything it's a fifty fathoms ripoff that doesn't cost $34k and looks better
