I bought used out of warranty 2013 335i with 40k miles for $23k out of the door. ~5 years of ownership and no ratting noises. I do agree with the squeaky brakes (ahh well) and will be replacing them soon. The squeaking on came up if I don't drive the car often. Otherwise, the car has treated me well! 87k miles and going strong! I did nearly all the maintenance on my own. Right now, the cracked plastic charge pipe needs to be replace and might as well upgrade the intercooler
Yeah the F30 335i is pretty solid. My brother has the E92 335i and he has constant issues. I don't know why I had so many weird rattles. I actually sold the car and I'm buying an F30 340i soon. I hope I don't have the same experience with the rattles.
same here brother, bought used, 2012 335 with 55k miles and is sitting at 67k miles now. 0 issues so far. like pretty reliable.. I also do everything myself... I honestly think this guy was scammed from the dealership all the time. BMW dealerships are known to be completely scums like 99% of the time.
@@sleezybongoto9078 Excellent care to daily drive! I really like the F30 platform for a daily driver especially go for the 335i version. I would avoid the B58 engine because I don't like how it replaced a lot of things with more plastic even with better heat management. Plastic will break eventually and DIYing it isn't easy.... compared to the N55 engine.
NW Auto yes I do plan on going BM3 and eventually XHP trans tune. I found one that only had 14k on it, m sport and every package you could think of including 6WB dash. Where’d you get all your aero parts?
The car was optioned with all that from the factory. Diffusor, lip, carbon mirror caps, carbon wing, M sport brakes. Only thing I did to improve the looks was get new wheels and an exhaust with 102 mm tips.
Nice video, I just discovered your channel ! I am a BMW enthusiast too, but it is sad to see that you faced all those problems, some of them would cost a lot without warranty ! Those are definitely grate machine to drive but the other side of the coin is pretty scary !
Yeah you just need to accept that when you buy the car. But if I wasn't in warranty, I think I could have replaced the axle and diff without spending too much. And I don't think I would have needed to replace my transmission.
the coolant return line will not cover under warranty, got my car towed in to dealership for this issue while still under cpo warranty, they said its wear n tear items, idk why. Ended up cost me $400. Good thing u did it on your own.
Do you recommend the reliability of the BMW F30 340i in the line or the long road because I am a Toyota owner and I want to change to the BMW F30 340i. Is it as reliable as Toyota or not, and what is your advice on the reliability of the car?
Hey how they are covering such a big problems under warranty im from europe so when the factory warranty of the car ends you are paying anything that brokes no matter where you go some private mechanics or the official BMW garage
I paid for an extended warranty when I got the car. The car also was still under factory warranty and didn't have modifications when I had the biggest issues.
For now I'm thinking 340i. I really wanted the F80 M3 competition package, but they became too expensive after the pandemic started. I want to get the 340i and build it to 600hp.
bro I bought mine 2012 f30 335i with 55k miles, Right now is sitting at 67k miles,,,, one year ownership.I had 0 issues...car will last depending on how you drive it... burning rubber, running, racing. yeah it won't last... driving like a normal person, IT WILL
Id say 2014+ because they switched to electronic wastegate. At this point most of them will have over 50k miles. See if you can find one that has had the oil filter housing gasket, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gasket replaced already. Those are the main issues with this engine.
I just got a 2018 330i in october and the noises coming from doors on top of some other ones are the only problems ive had, all covered by warranty but super annoying, still some noises but fixed for the most part
SimplyCarThings has a solid video on N55 common problems, you should go watch it. A lot of the parts that go bad on this car aren't actually very expensive. You should be fine if you know how to do the work yourself.
I don't have experience with the Camaro or Mustang, only with the 335i. I really liked the 335i. It was a nice looking comfortable car that could easily be tuned to make more power. A V8 with manual transmission would be cool though
21k to my friend, so I still see the car all the time. I think it had like 60k miles. Its just over 70k now and hasn't had a single issue since I sold it
Hi i thought BMW was supposed to represent very good quality so many issues on these cars so many leaks rattles that denotes very Very poor build quality what happened to German excellence has it turned into sloppy rubbish 😊😊
I forgot to mention this, but I bought the car CPO with 31k miles and now its about to hit 63k.
problem one shouldn’t be listed, That’s a consumer aided issue 😂. Good video !

Would u say this car is a good daily
And I’m a little nervous about the repair cost of some shit I break😂

Nice video. Interesting how the transmission seal went. 8 speed zf is usually very reliable
Yeah not sure what would cause that. I would have known if I hit the bottom of the car on a bump or something.
Thx for the info, definitely giving me some pointers for my 435i. Good luck with the next car. Can’t wait to see the build
Glad it helped. Half the issues I had was just dealing with annoying noises/rattles. The differential/axle issue is very easily avoidable.
Thank you for that funny scotty kilmer cameo. He deserves it 🤣🤣🤣
Can't forget to mention Scotty when talking about my BMW problems.
I just brought home a 340i in mineral grey, love it. Look forward to your next build
Thats exactly what I want my next car to be. I love mineral gray. Are you tuning yours?

Thats kind of messed up. That piece is built like shit. They should have replaced it.
could i get a link to your spoiler?
That's OEM. But you can find similar ones on ebay or sites like BimmerPlug
How much did you pay for warranty? Most definitely finesse bmw
I had the standard 4 year 50k mile warranty that came with the car. And I think I paid an additional $1600 to extend that by a year.

I had a 340i after this car and yeah I really liked it. It has a solid engine and transmission. Don't expect Toyota reliability though
Did the car come with warranty with the purchase or did you add it on ?
Had the original 4 year 50k mile warranty. I paid to extend it
$200 to swap oil filters and wipe off some oil?
Yeah basically. Welcome to the dealer.

Informative and a bit scary as I look at buying one of these out of warranty!
Yeah I'm not gonna sugar coat things. I love German cars, but they can get expensive

so burnouts r unsafe ? 😭😭

Yeah just have the warranty fix all of it. I never had anymore after the HUD issue.
Dude, I have the exact same wheels coming. Aodhan AFF7's, right?
Different brand, but same design. I really like the way they look. I might order the AFF7 for my current car.
I’m about to buy 2013 335i manual without warranty is that bad idea? I can work my self
SimplyCarThings has a solid video on N55 common problems, you should go watch it. A lot of the parts that go bad on this car aren't actually very expensive. You should be fine if you know how to do the work yourself.
Hey bro - what year/mileage is your car?
2015 with 62k.
How much are you selling it for?
21k but I already have a buyer.
What do you recommend for me a 2011 5.0 or a 2010 Camaro ss or a f30 335i
I don't have experience with the Camaro or Mustang, only with the 335i. I really liked the 335i. It was a nice looking comfortable car that could easily be tuned to make more power. A V8 with manual transmission would be cool though
Camaro
What is the the size of your rims please?
19x9.5 rear and 19x8.5 front
idk I wanted a 335i cause it’s a better sports car but I’ll get a is350
Yeah I switched to a 340i and I really like it. The B58 is a better engine
Most of the serious issues were no doubt caused by the fact you "drive it like you stole it".
Yupp. And I wouldn't wanna do it any other way.
Facts he Damaged that car I already knew but the video in the beginning
lol how much did you sell the car for?

“I drove like a lunatic and abused the drivetrain and now my BMW is broken, please feel sorry for me”
What are you tryna get for your 335i and what state are you located in?
I'm in Portland but I already have a buyer.
I’m assuming you beat on your car a lot
I don't during my normal daily commutes. But I do like to take it out to backroads and drive it hard some days.
Shouldn't matter, a car this expensive and the "prestige" of a BMW should be able be driven hard.
Any vehicle will do this. Not like it's only BMWs.
Hi i thought BMW was supposed to represent very good quality so many issues on these cars so many leaks rattles that denotes very Very poor build quality what happened to German excellence has it turned into sloppy rubbish 😊😊
Welcome to German cars. The 340i is a bit more reliable. But even that still uses a lot of plastic around the engine
