    Great video. I have a 2004 Cadillac Escalade that I plan on building out. I was so worried about the floor not being completely flat. You have definitely inspired me.

      It’s definitely worth it.. so nice to pull over whenever you’re tired and sleep for the night with your own pillows and blankets!

      I sooo want a van l, but most vans have no 4wd. Looking i lnto suburbans and things like that. The H3 has a lot of room in it as well with 4x4.

      I’m so glad we left an area we can sit up straight, while parking stealthily! I feel like they are making it harder to overnight park!

    Store blankets and extra pillows in those vaccuum bags with the pump so you can pump the air out and when they arnt being used, they wont get moisture and take up a lot less space. This was a great video. 👍

      I used to put them away but since we use them every night I just gave up! 😅 We try to wash everything on laundry days, so nothing gets funky! Thank you for a great idea! 🥰🥰

      Thanks for watching! We added a layer of carpet on top which really seems to help soften the transition from mattress to wood! 🥰

    You should drill some "weight relief" holes (3/8") into the wood to help reduce unnecessary weight.

    There's quite few other videos where it's professionally done with custom shelves on on has a fridge between front two seats really kewl how others do it

      I love watching those videos but this is a new truck so we didn’t want to do permanent changes till we lived in it awhile first! 🥰

      I’m kinda torn between having a cooler in between the seats and having it open to get to the back more stealthy! Since it’s newer there are tons of wiring issues right there so it’s kinda scary to feel like we’re wrecking it! 😂 we actually put the 500$ deposit down on a Suboverland but couldn’t make it work out and definitely didn’t need two trucks! 😭🥰

      @@thompsonmobilecommand yea I seen that done few times an yes also makes sence for stealth an if ya need to get behind wheel faster or vise versa, but also seen it being behind the driver seat also or could be other said depending if you lay it all out more one sided or not

    I was wondering how hard it would be to build out a traverse and how much headroom it would have.

    • @thompsonmobilecommand
      @thompsonmobilecommand  Рік тому

      Shawn is taller, so we tried to account for the tallest item we knew we positively wanted to carry, but still remember the mattress makes it even higher! 🥰

      We made them by cutting cardboard to fit and spray gluing down black fabric! 😎

    don't those seats fold down flat?

    • @thompsonmobilecommand
      @thompsonmobilecommand  9 місяців тому +2

      They fold flat but would still take up all the same volume wise that the drawer system we made would! Since we don’t need them we’d rather have the head room above us! 🥰

    • @thompsonmobilecommand
      @thompsonmobilecommand  9 місяців тому +1

      They do not have the opening down into the floor to collapse down into, like the Stow and Go vans do! We used to lay a mattress directly on them but needed more storage! 🥰

    • @thompsonmobilecommand

      We divided off the front part of the pull through drawers to make a “clothes section” but I do wish we made it (at least my side 🤣) a little bigger! - Laura

    Put handles on so you can pull and push back in

    • @thompsonmobilecommand
      @thompsonmobilecommand  22 дні тому

      We did end up putting a divider towards the front part in the truck for clothes! Handles might make that easier to get into! Thank you! 🥰
