    Please make a video on time calculation, like last hour, last interval, or last 7 interval, or substrate addition, and percentage difference from previous interval or hour and percentage difference from previous day,
    That would be really helpful

    7:36 We already change a fiscal starts from April(Data source & Order date itself). Then why January belongs to Q1 and April belongs to Q2 .

    • @DataVizCanvas
      @DataVizCanvas  2 роки тому

      Hi, In this tutorial we have used Jan as a fiscal start date. If you change the fiscal start date at data source level to April then the Q1 will start from April. However you can override that by going to individual date field and right click to go to default properties and select fiscal start to lets say Sep then the Q1 will start from September. Hope that answer your query. Please feel free to reach out if you need more info. Cheers!

    Hi , at 16:30 after you put the sum(datepart) in the text , do you not need to change it to dimension to get the month, as it was left as a variable which does not matches the function result that should be the integer for the corresponding month?

    • @DataVizCanvas
      @DataVizCanvas  Рік тому +1

      Hi Anil,
      Thanks for your feedback and great pick up.
      Yes you are right. Datepart field should have been changed to dimension to give us the correct month. Sum(DatePart) is aggregating all the month (integer ) values which is not correct. And in order to show the name of the month, we should use datename function as shown in the tutorial.
      Cheers!

    how to create a date range based on the start date and end date options?

    • @DataVizCanvas
      @DataVizCanvas  2 роки тому

      Hi Ashwitha, you can create a parameter with date data type for start date and end date. Once you have that created then you can create a calculated field based on your date field like Date >= start date (Parameter) and Date

    What does date function do? How to use it?

    • @DataVizCanvas

      Date function convert the string values into date format.

      @@DataVizCanvas ok so date function only works on string values. I used it on numeric column I was getting error in year. So how to convert a numeric date to date data type in tableau?

    • @DataVizCanvas
      @DataVizCanvas  Рік тому +1

      @@sadafnidah8245 If you have an interger value like 20220203 then first thing you need to do is to change the data type by right clicking on the field and got to change "data type" and select "date"
      All the date function works with strings and date data type.
      If that still doesnt work then convert it into string and then try date function to convert it into date. Hope that helps 🙂

      I was told to convert numeric date column using calculated fields , so I was getting error on using date function for it in calculated field. Will do the string conversion and then use date function as suggested. Thanks 😊

      Also would appreciate if u could check the quality setting in UA-cam right bottom and set it to HD, sometimes if internet speed is slow it’s automatically reduce the quality setting to low so you have to adjust manually to higher setting. Hope that helps 🙏
