linkin park points of authority official video reaction alex hefner bennington.
I was lucky enough to see them twice, and was even luckier to get to meet them once. Every single one of them were as humble as could possibly be. Dave Phoenix was actually pretty shy. But, to no one’s surprise, Chester had to have been the most humble and sweetest person I ever met. We talked for what seemed like ages, didn’t rush to leave or finish the conversation. When I asked for a second handshake he said “yeah of course, screw that! Give me a hug man!” I miss you, Chester ❤️
Wow such memories to treasure!
I guess that would be one of the best days of your life. Right man? How lucky you are.
U r so lucky!
Yeah I managed to catch them once in Aus, and yeah Dave said hello but that was about it, seemed kinda like the super awkward little brother but the rest of the dudes especially Chester were just so down to earth
I saw them live right after the third album came out. They played all 3 albums (almost) in their entirety. I was like 13. But anyways, I've seen alot of bands in my day, I'm now 26 and this is still the best show I've ever seen. Still haven't seen anything that even comes close.
R.I.P Chester, we love you brother! 🙏✌
Chester was sexually abused by a family friend for many years. Chester's Dad was a cop. He finally broke down and told him what was happening. Chester winded up not filing charges because he found out the guy was also sexually abused. I don't know if that would have mattered to me. Chester had a beautiful heart. Please react to the whole Minutes to midnight album. It is amazing as well.
Also the Thousand Suns album is very different from all the others, but it is still so great.
Eve Matice Yeah.. That friend passing his sexual abuse to Chester was a bad decision.. 😢
actually every single album of them is amazing, maybe not for everyone but for me they surely are.
I actually never knew that about Chester, it breaks my heart to know that he went through that and it saddens me that we lost him not only was his heart beautiful but it was kind and compassionate
Let's leave all the other albums as we have Reanimation to go through first.
Just lets do journey alll Linkin Park's Albums, come on
The combination of Chester's vocals w/ Mike's rapping is one of my favorite dynamics in all of music. Other bands mix hip-hop and rock / metal, but nothing is quite like this.
Yes
I remember back in the day, showing this song to a young relative, who hadn't heard Linkin Park before. He must have been about 9 or 10. I'll never forget it - he said:
_"Wow, it's like rap that's been coloured in."_ 🧐
Wow
That young relative is going places
Wow.
Haha that is genius. Rap's a cool art form for sure but the music that goes along with it usually sucks. And even if it doesn't suck, it's usually pretty simplistic.
a 9 yr old said that exactly?
This song is all about Mr. Hahn .. I don't know why no one recognises his contribution to this band
bro i know what you mean !
60% of these sounds are made from mr hahn. If you ask me this is very unfair to create a whole song with 6 band members haha :D
"well i do..."😀
fucking hell yeah i agree
Chester Bennington and Corey Taylor were 2 of the best screamer's back in the day.
Edit: (I think we can all agree the 2000's bands had some of the best vocalist's.)
Still are the best 2 to this day in my opinion
@@ianhmz I agree. They both have voices that can never be duplicated
Back in the day..... They will always be 2 of the best screamers past present and future. Whether they are a fallen hero or still with us. RIP chester. We love you
Austin Carlile from Of Mice And Men
And Corey sounds better now than he did on the first album.
"I'm so pissed I can never see them live."
I've seen them live once about 12 years ago, and it was fucking awesome. It was definitely a surreal experience.
I was blessed to see them in 2004 for my 30 birthday in Toronto With POD and Story of the Year Was fucking insane and will never forget it. Was only 18 rows from the stage.
@@teknotik1601 I was in the pit as a 14-year-old in 2002 when they played with Cypress Hill and Adema. Really happy that my parents didn't look too far into what show I was going to or I would have missed the opportunity to see LP live.
I've experienced literally every kind of abuse as a child growing up and most of my teen years and honestly Linkin Park is the band that got me through all that and may as well have saved my life. Never felt as understood as I did with Chester. I'm so sad I'll never get to see him or thank him for it, but I'm very grateful.
You're a wonderful human being, Alex 💕
Im So sorry for you ... even though I have been listening to this song for soo long, i realise I was just some casual listener, hopping and popping- I Never understood the deep meaning of this song... I always teared up because of the awesomeness of this song back in the days,.... I tear up on every song I hear Chester because of his untimely passing... Now I tear Up Understanding the pain you guys went through... Hang in There Mrs Gates. Big Love to you.
Liking because I care.
true... he did saved lot of our lives but we fail to save his
Sorry for what you've been through, and glad that you have been so strong
I was lucky to see Linkin Park twice, but never got to meet them. I wish I had gotten to see them more. They were my gateway into metal when I was a freshman in highschool. I don't regret one minute!
I got to see them twice as well!! They were my first concert that was my birthday present and got better seats before LP went on!
I saw them twice: 2004 and 2011. Went backstage to get their autograph on both occasions thanks to the LPU. I remember the 2004 because Mike wasn't feeling well before the show so he was not there to sign my item. I also remember Chester talking about a green dragon the whole time I moved through the line.
They may’ve never considered themselves a “Metal band”, but they’re likewise my “gateway drug” to Metal.
That album will go down as one of the most influential albums of all time in decades to come. They changed the face of rock and brought it to an immense audience that wouldn’t have listened before.
Please listen to "Waiting for the End" by Linkin Park. very amazing song, also "Leave out all the Rest", best song of them for me.
@Martin Brichta waiting for the end is one of their best songs
Waiting for the End was a song I initially skipped, but have come to absolutely love it in the last few months or so.
And Leave Out all the Rest is so phenomenal, especially hearing it after Chester is gone.
@Martin Brichta your taste is the one that's weak, same as your music understanding
@Martin Brichta Because it's not death metal, right? Anything other than death metal is weak in your tiny mind.
I was fortunate enough to meet Chester at a private party once. Got pics and autograph and talked for a bit. Had tickets to finally see them in concert for first time in Charlotte, NC the weekend before he passed. Bad luck but Chester in person was one of the most fun and coolest guys to talk too that night. Got his autograph in my room kept safe.
Fun story --
This is my favorite song by LP. It helps me get through some PTSD.
In middle school, I had the verbal OK from the music teachers to do my music project on LP. I was stoked. I did all the research, made the visual, and wrote the paper in 2 days; so I was 12 days early before it was due. Well, fast forward to 2 days before it was due. The music teachers pulled me aside and told me that I had to change my artist because the class before me did theirs on Good Charlotte and their song of choice was "Hold On". That gave me 2 days to pick from a xgen list of groups to do a semester project on in 2 friggin' days.. I ultimately chose The Eagles (love them), but I ended up with a D- because, and I quote, "the paper and speech felt rushed"................ well, no shit.. wonder why. /rant
Screw those teachers, they want to control every little thing we do. If I was a teacher I would let the freedom of expression come into play... of course got to lay down some rules like no cussing and stuff like that but yeah.
4:05 I agree Alex Hefner best scream in the industry on album and Live
I’m more disappointed that I can’t see them live, I’ve would’ve seen them for the first time back in 2017.
Me too 😔
he's not just one of the best screamer but he is one of the best vocals i have ever heard!
Listen to queen
This was one of my favorite songs off this album when i was younger. The music video for the version off the reanimation album is awesome.
I should react to Hands Held High, for me is the bast Linkin Park song ever, and is a masterpiece rap from Mike
Certainly in the top 3 most underrated song of them
The first time I watched one of your reactions to LP you said Chester was one of the best screamers of all times. Now you said he's the best. I can clearly see an evolution.
That's what I wanted from the very begging!
Hah "Chester is the best Screamer in the world"
You clearly haven't heard an average Indian mother.
Hahaha🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha represent!
Lmao agreed
Mine growls...
Now listen here you little piece of.... Uhhh yeah yeah sorry your right
You are correct, Alex! Underrated MC + Best screamer and one of the best vocalists of all time + ??? = Profit!
Damn I always forget the whole backstory to this song and it really does break my heart that Chester had such a difficult upbringing! Heard that he refused to press charges on the guy as he found out he was sexually abused too! He had a heart of gold that man, despite all that happened, spare the person who put him through that situation! Love this song, beautiful mixture of Chester and Mike!
My first concert was Linkin Park and they were amazing. Someone launched a firecracker in the middle of a song and not only did Chester get the guy thrown the fuck out, they restarted the song from the beginning. Class acts, all around.
Lol what song was playing when the guy launched the firecracker
@@glen7137 I'm pretty sure it was Papercut or Points of Authority. But honestly it was 20 years ago, I don't exactly remember.
I was able to see these guys live 7 times and they just kept getting better every time!!
"I'm so pissed I can never see them live, dude."
Me, kicking myself everyday.
LINKIN PARK is one of my favorite bands. Chester’s voice and positive attitude was one of a kind. There will never be another Chester Bennington. I miss him every single day. I wish we could have saved him. His music has gotten me through tough times in my life. Rest easy my angel. You deserved better.
One of the best of Hybrid Theory. And I feel for you man, that you never got to see them live. I saw them live 3 times and that was nowhere near enough...
I got to see them live 3 times. Each times was so fucking amazing!!
This song got me through some really hard times
There is no better screamer than chester Bennington🔥
This's one of my fav song from Linkin Park! Love them so much, love Chester with all my heart!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love your channel Alex. Thanks for reacting to this album.
Thank you for bringing back my love for Linkin Park with these reactions. Keep it up!
Alex!!!!!!! This is one of my favorite songs from Linkin Park, because yes POWER HOUSE!!! Chester is/was and always will be legendary in the music industry to me. I saw them live in 2012 and I'm so thankful I got the chance... omg it was sooooo amazing!!! You just feel the energy, you feel that power seeing them live- Chester was drenched with sweat because he gave it his all!!!
I agree Chester Bennington has the best scream ever.
Love that you reacted to the whole album at once
One of my absolute favorite LP songs
Congrats on 500K
I saw them in Germany at Rock am Ring and it was an amazing show. But I understand not being able to see Chester on stage anymore. He is greatly missed. RIP Chester.
Love this song gets me motivated
This is fire ! I love this song and your réaction. Thank you !
I’m honestly glad I got to see LP 16 times live and I cherished every minute of it. RIP Chester ❤️
Devin Townsend definitely has a more dynamic scream but I love both him and Chester about the same. this is my fav LP song btw. good reaction.
Little fact, Chester is the best screamer, because unlike pretty much every screamer, Chester screamed actual notes. That’s why his screams are different pitches.
Little fact, you don't know much screamers
Bro you need to react to 'The Messenger' from LP
Been excited for this reaction for the longest time..! LET'S GO!!
Love ya man, coolest person, big love from England 🇬🇧🤘🏽
I saw them live in Dallas in 2011. Sad to think that no one can enjoy them again.
My going to show my friends these video. Very awesome man. Keep on rockin 🤘
Not all abused become abusers. Chester was abused but didn't become an abuser to anyone. Sad that he's gone
One of them best songs for real and one of My favorite songs ever🔥🔥🔥R.I.P chester man we will miss you ❤️🙏🏼🕊️
I totally agree!
I definitely didn't mind watching this again. I've and still enjoy the music adventure you have been on.
my fav. track off this album...
This song is so good with a lot of things. I went to Anaheim 2 Supercross 2015 and one of my favorite riders Ken Roczen, came out durring opening ceremonies to THIS. The whole stadium lit up!
This is what i was waiting for I LOOOOOOVE this song
I was excited for this reaction. This was one of my favorite tracks from the album when it first came out.
Long ago i watched some sort of documentary saying that when chester screams, you can hear 3 pitches clearly.
I have not heard anybody else scream the way he did.
I had to come back to you Alex after watching the videos of all the riots - I needed LP to lift my spirits up 💯 Alex you should look up the concert in Texas 2009 - no auto tune needed for Chester ever - that concert was off the chain
one of the best reactions
This is why Hybrid was my fav LP Album constant non-stop in your face tunes that hit all your emotions! LP is awesome live, shit ton of energy and a lot of fun!
the crazy thing is that both can sing amazingly. Mike and Chester have great voices they just use them for rap and screaming. There are a few songs out there where they show the full potential.
Listening to this with you totally new. Love your videos and the new experience. 🌷
Seen them live on their minutes to midnight tour they were freaking awesome! My favorite band! And always will be RIP chester we will always love and miss you
Still on my workout playlist
You want someone to hurt just like you
You wanna share what you been through
Makes total sense in relation to his story of being abused by someone who was also abused. 🤯
Also my first concert ever!
I've heard this song a million times but as I'm laying in the hospital bed after have part of my colon removed it hit me, just goddamn. RIP Chester, I love LP so much.
at the very beginning i was listening to Linkin Park i was around 14 , i didn't speak english at that time (i'm half French , half Belgian) and i didn't know why but their songs was getting me in a strange , very emotionnal mood , so i began to learn english to get what they meant (same for Eminem and Marilyn Manson's songs ) , and by the way i got to understand the words , their deep meaning got to me as a stab in the chest , i've been through similar issues than Chester had in his life , and it made me understand that what i felt was simply the answer at the question "how to spit this shit out of myself" , by this day i've felt like someone was understanding me even if he had no idea of my existance , i've seen them in Paris , 2010 25Th October , best day in my life so far , chester and mike were on fire , i still hear their voices in my head ... i fucking miss this guy , it's like a part of me has been teared out since he's gone
Pure love to you ❤
My favourite song of ALL TIME. Thanks for this song LP!
the "easier to run" its also about these times to chester
and that's why they didn't played this song more than a couple of times
4:00 100 percent I agree with that as well
You are amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Saw them twice live, still the best show's I've ever been to. Sounded just as good as the album if not better!
Goddamn I feel old. Hybrid theory came out 2000 and Meteora 2004... 15 years old when I came across Linkin Park, first band I picked up as I started branching out finding my own music instead of my mother's. Come from a pretty broken family and this band just resonated with me and expressed my pain. Still relevant to this day, I still resonate with the music and lyrics.
Yesss!!! LP ❤️🤘🏻 ❤️
"Prove me wrong bitch!!" Love it! 🤘🤘
Love the end of the song with that cuts.
I've seen linkin park 3 times now and now i cherish those momentds more than i ever thought i would. I remember when i first started listening to metallica and really really got into them and some friends from back in the day seen them during the age of cliff and i was pure jealous that and the fact that they are older therefore nowhere near as good as they use be just hurts me a little. But for linkin park ill cherish them forever, this album specifically is probably my most influential of all time its 20/10
Chester went through a lot of hard things in life and he poured all of that emotion into his music and it is fucking amazing and heart wrenching
All the elements of this song are just so energizing. Rob's drum work is heavy and fast, Mix tht with Brad and Dave's fast guitar and Joe scratching and other DJ elements. Throw in the rap verses and heavy energetic vocals tht still have a tone and you get this! AN ABSOLUTE FUCKING POWER HOUSE. The energy is fast paced and DOES NOT STOP
Me and my mum used to love this video so much, and we both had favourite parts too
I had a Linkin Park autographed guitar that my cousin got from meeting them. I cherished that thing like it was the holy grail. One day I was in between jobs and needed money for diapers so I had to sell it. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of it but I would sell it again in a heartbeat. This band got me through the worst of times and that alone is the greatest memory of all. RIP Chester ❤️
This is my favorite song on this album
You're a good dude bro I love your reaction
Hybrid theory literally saved my life. And while a lot of their newer stuff I didn't care for much (just not my style), Linkin Park is hands down my favorite band. Always will be
I love you reacting the live verizons of there songs.
Great reaction as always! Love these good old nu-metal times.. If you want keep the pace, do some ill Nino already damit :-D "What comes around" or "Unreal"..
So good 🤘🏻😎😎
i adore your reacting to linkin park my best band ever
we love you too alex much love brother
You may never be able to see them live in person but check out Linkin Park Live in Texas. Full concert released in movie theaters when it came out. Totally worth it.
My absolute favorite song on Hybrid Theory and potentially my favorite LP song period
The guitar is simple but so catchy!
I found LP by totally randomly. I was listening to depressive songs (or just heavy ones) and Castle of Glass showed up. That was my first one... I’ve listened to them ever since. I am one of those that was unlucky to never go to a LP concert as they never came around to my area...
This is one of my all time favorites. The mash-up with Jay-Z for Collision Course is amazing too.
Bro you caught onto the abuse motif so quick…. Very good , that was amazing. You def have an ear for lyrics
My favourite song
Definitely enjoy your channel, El Hef
Linkin park mastermind :
1. Mike s.
2. Joe hahn.
And then..With chester and three others they become BOOOOM, an absolute hip-hop rock legends they are all MAESTROS
LINKIN PARK LIVE !!!
