- Dividing a large Sansevieria (Dracaena) aka Snake Plant into multiple plants and then repotting all the pieces! Propagating a Snake Plant by root/rhizome division.
I got this plant in a 10” nursery pot and decided to turn it into a versatile set of plants that can be used as a plant wall. Snake Plants are the best!!

Have you repotted a big snake plant like this (or any other REALLY BIG PLANTS)? Link your videos in the comments, I'd love to see your process for doing snake plant repottings :D
Thank you so much to anybody who has taken the time to watch this! Cheers to making new plant friends :)

I love your green chair
Oh my gosh! You solved my dilemma! I was trying to find a 76 inch long by 6 inch wide by 6+ inch tall galvanized planter that I could set in a wall opening between the living room and the hall in my mid century 1953 home. This solves it! I will set a bunch of square containers and run some wire from one side to the other on the hall side and then on the living room side to keep them from falling if anybody should happen to touch them. I actually have some glazed metal square containers I’ve had for many years and never knew what to do with. You’ve solved my problem and got me to use something that’s been sitting around for a long time. Thank you so so so so much. 👍🏼
Did you do this in the end?
Sounds like a window box. That's what I use for my empty spaces.
@@MissCookie8260I agree
Post pic please!☺️🫶🏽
This wall of Snake Plants is so incredible! They are definitely one of my favorite plants. :)
Thank you so much!!! I’m glad you love snake plants too, they’re so amazing! 😊💕 thanks so much for watching ☺️
The pot height is also perfect. It lines up pretty darn well with the wall molding. Love this !!
I love the dead stare into the camera on that second snap haha
Omg totally adding this to my "really want to do list"!! 😍 Also, I love how you showed us the roots and didn't speed or cut out that part of the repotting. It's my favorite part!
yay glad you liked it! thanks so much for the feedback 🥰💕
Lovely plants in your apartment. I wouldn't put snake plants in such small pots given that those risomes need space to spread, but.. if it works for u !
Good point, i had a rhizome literally break out of the side of its plastic pot, grew out sideways almost a foot long before i noticed it 😂
Hey will you please do a room tour? I really like a few of those plants and I would love to know what they're called
I’m planning to do one very soon! 😊 thanks so much for watching 💕💕💕
@@reallybigplant aww no probs! You're adorable and there's a few things I spotted in your lovely space that I'd love to know the names of.
This was so clever! I do appreciate you young, artsy folks who think outside of the box and give me ideas that I'm too locked in to think of myself! 😍💗
I love this! There's something fascinating about watching a skillful, passionate, and creative person work on a project from start to finish.
Omg FINALLY a snake plant repotting video that is straight to the point and actually useful!! Can you please tell me what type of soil you used :)
Ahh thanks for the support- so glad you liked the video!!😭💕✨ I used a very coarse potting mix with mostly peat moss, fir bark, sand, pumice or some kind of tiny rocks, and perlite. For snake plants I’m not too picky and will use any potting mix that’s listed for indoor plants, but you could also use a bonsai or cactus mix for even better drainage. Hope this helps! ☺️
Not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can stream all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Have been watching with my gf for the last couple of days xD
@Camden Mayson yea, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for since december myself :D
For pots without drainage holes, I got a set of “diamond” drill bits and my husband drills a hole for me! Super quick and easy
why not drill them yourself queen?
@@pampoovey6722 Why even ask a question like that? I’m very capable, but he likes doing nice things for me.
Teamwork, right! I do the same and also help him at times.@@littlerootsbigdreams8612
I’ve never been a bit fan of snake plants, but this was a really good idea and I actually have a space or two in my apartment I can really see something like this working out well for us.
Great video ☺️
What a great idea! I just may copy it😜
Yay thanks! So glad you like it!! 😁✨
Girl love your style, that outfit was too cute! Thank you so much for such an informative video. I just bought my first snake plant and you taught me so much. Love how the wall turned out, it looks amazing.
Thanks so much for being so nice and supportive!!😊💕💕💕!! I’m so glad you liked the video😁 I’m excited for you that you just got your first snake! I used to not care about snake plants that much but now I’m obsessed🤩 thx for watching!💜
@@reallybigplant same here with the snake plants, but I do see many more in my future haha. Have a great week girl 💚
How about the water drip?
Sansevieria, one of my favorites. Low maintenance and no fuss. I just got a black gold birds nest to add to my collection. Your project worked out beautifully 🌞 This would be excellent idea for those who live in studio apartments and need room dividers. 👍🌿🌱🍃
Woah that would be so cool!
You were incredibly patient and gentle in how you worked that plant apart! Nicely done!
Love the way you put them on that hallway wall 😘
What a good idea. I like the way you’re not afraid to get a little dirt on the floor.
This is exactly what I need to do with my own blank wall! Your apartment is so cute.
You're AmAziNg and AdOrAbLe. i'm inspired by your plants and your pants.
They look awesome! My mom had them in her yard on a wall, and later on they were so happy they grew taller than her! I never saw any snake plant so tall. Yours here look beautiful in those square pots!

The air in your apartment must be uber CLEAN with all those beauties!! Loveee your living room!!🌵🌴🌱
Omg I love your apartment jungle 😍
Love it. Planning to do this outside along my fence. I was going to use bigger pots but love the smaller pot versatile technique idea. Ty for sharing.
I loved this video as I am a beginning Snake Plant enthusiast. My question is two part: (1) When you replanted these did you water them and (2) when you do water them can you approximate about how much water you put in each planter. I am especially concerned about overwatering since there were no drainage holes.
This was the best video for what I want to do. I am looking to combine some of these I've had for a while that are the more plane green with some that have yellow and green leaves I just got. Unfortunately I killed part of the old plant by over watering a few months ago so the large pot is empty and probably needs soil with more drainage. So this should help me divide and rearrange them together. Now off to the garden store.
Brilliant idea 👍👍👍👍👍
I am in love with tiger skin plant 💖💖💖
But I prefer the one with yellow edges 🌾🌾🌾
Thanks so much for watching!! 😊💕🌿✨ I love the yellow edge ones too! There’s also a silvery version with a yellow edge that I think is beautiful as well ☺️
I love this, I have a snake plant. I took one baby and replanted it. The new one that grew on the side is now catching up to the mother plant and I need to hurry and repot so more can grow.
Bright idea. I am definitely gonna try that once my snake plant grow that much. Tnx for sharing.
Thanks for watching! So glad you liked the idea. I’m excited that you’re going to try it eventually 😊✨ thanks for the support!
Your videos are so amazing. You truly do love your plants, and it shows. Thank you for sharing with us.
OMG!! I just pulled this lively and overcrowded snake plant from my 15 year old pot. I watched your video and was inspired. Had to send my hubby out for more pots! Need to send photos.
It would be cool to see a wall out of papyrus plants or skinny bamboo. Especially, like in a bathroom or patio
very interesting roots, thank you for showing them
My heart suffered a lot for every break you did to the rhizomes :D
My grandmother gifted me a 24 year old snake plant that is a little under 6 feet tall I would love to do this wall! So inspiring!
Wow.... this is the first video of yours I've seen. I just started to learn about gardening this year and I think you will help me along nicely. I enjoyed your energy and creativity. For myself I'm thinking a mounted snake plant wall. Thank you so much. 💗
I have been planning a snake wall for air quality purposes for years. I was on the verge of building my own long planter. How could I have not thought of separate pots!?
I cannot wait to Starr my healthy bedside snake wall!
Thanks darling!
Thanks for this video!! I just bought some land, and I have this plant on the property. I love the plant but it is sitting where my house will be built. Now ai k ow ai can move them without completely killing them!
Wow, I really love indoors plants 🪴
The Snake plant wall is great, you're great, can't wait to see more vids.
What an awesome idea! I just adore snake plants and have so many because I hav absolutely no self control and am always bringing more home. 😬 Now this is a super idea to justify my “habit”.
Haha I totally agree! I also feel like buying snake plants is so justifiable because they’re so easy to care for!😍 So glad you liked the idea 😁 thanks so much for watching!!💕💕🐍🌿✨
This was so fun to watch! There's just something amazing about seeing a project come to together. The fact that all those different pieces of snake plants happened to be similar heights and it doesn't take up that much space along that wall. Love it! :D
Thanks so much for watching! I agree, I love seeing a good project get finished! 🤩 so glad you felt that way about watching this! I feel happy every time I look at my snake plant wall 😁 Thanks so much for the support! ☺️💕
@@reallybigplant Hello! I love this idea. Could you show a follow up photo? How does it look now? I have a plant that needs to be divided and I really like this idea. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! What a beautiful video!
As I see and hear you I was repotting my snakes
thank you for sharing this great idea, i did not know that snake plants can be out of the pot/soil for 1-week and still live/trive
Thanks, glad you like the idea!😊 I don’t exactly recommend leaving snake plants bare rooted for too long but yes they’re fine with some pretty rough treatment 😅 it’s one of the reasons why I love snake plants so much! Thanks for watching!💕
Gorgeous!!!
Glad you like it! 😊💕🌿 thanks for watching!!✨
Really beautiful
Super Cute!
I know this was a while ago, but, I cut the rhizomes into chunks and put them in a prop box! I have been getting pups for months.
