Learn how to protect and safely straighten your hair and see how you can trim your hair to remove split ends. (Warning: If you do not feel 100% comfortable using cutting shears, or are unsure about how much of your hair to trim, you need to see a professional stylist in your area.)
The beauty of this method is that it works on multiple natural hair types (type 3 and 4) and it is a great way for transitioners to blend new growth with relaxed ends without damage. I hope this tutorial helps you get beautiful, lasting results!
    Products and Tools:
ApHogee Keratin and Green Tea Restructurizer
    Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion
    Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother
    Chi Deep Brilliance Reflect
FHI Platform Flat Iron, 1 Inch
    Eclipse Hair Cutting Shears
    Ion Anti-Frizz Ionic Hair Dryer
    Conair Pro-Style Bonnet Dryer
    Denman 9-Row Brush
    Detangling/Shower comb
    Rattail Comb
    Color Information:
Alisha is wearing Creative Image Adore semi-permanent rinse in 68-Crimson. Her natural hair color is very dark brown; her hair was previously lightened three levels (no bleach) which allows this rinse to show vividly. (See more about hair dye basics at moknowshair.com... )
    Total Time:
Total style time for this method is about two and a half hours depending on how fast your hair dries and how quickly you can straighten your hair.
    Keep and Care:
To preserve this style, you can do a traditional wrap around your head and secure with a satin scarf, or pin curl sections and cover with a bonnet.

A fast way to install moisture is with hot oil treatments...there's a post on my blog under Hair Care Tips about them. Also, make sure you are using things that say "intense hydrating" and are sulfate-free. Deep conditioning with every wash, no more than once a week, should help over time too.

Hi! I just wanted to tell you that I used your trimming method on my hair and it completely changed the shape of my hair in a wonderful way!! I cut about 2 inches off of mine and I trimmed my sister's hair. I tend to do my own hair because of the length and texture (kinky/curly) of my hair, salon's tend to charge so much. Thank you for this video!!

I am truly a fan of your work! I've been natural for 2 years, but have been wearing extensions for years. I recently had them taken out because I want to take care of my own hair. I gained significant growth, but my hair is very fine. I love wearing my hair straight and want to learns ways to thicken my hair. I plan on visiting your blog and keeping up with your videos for more tips in how to do these things and more importantly, do other styles besides just straightening to avoid heat damage.
