I am deaf and I recently began my natural hair journey. This channel is literally helpful compared to other channels because most tend to be including all of the talkings without subtitles, etc but this, I'm not sure if you're talking but the way you show the products and do the hair is so clear and so easy to know. Gonna sub this awesome channel and show this to my deaf female family members whom also began their natural hair journey! MO KNOWS HAIR!
Melanie Rush Thank you so much! I am glad you are able to follow the content! For every tutorial, there is a matching blog post at moknowshair.com that has more info to read that may be helpful to you :)
Melanie Rush There is closed caption (CC) option on the video that you can click if you want to read along the way as the video goes on! +Mo Knows Hair has amazing videos with or without voice overs (as you already know)! :-)
I love how you describe and explain each and every step so that we can understanding why we're doing this process. Some videos just have music, and that's it, which doesn't help me at all. Her hair came out beautifully.
Just want to say that I truly appreciate the thought and care you put into your videos. As a hairstylist as well, I like to get product suggestions from you because I not only get a thorough description, but also get to see the products at work! Kudos
This video has been extremely helpful to me. Since deciding to transition in May 2015 I've been doing braid outs, perm rods, twists out and avoiding heat at all costs. But now that I have more natural hair I've been struggling. Thank you for making this video. You have a new subscriber.
I've been dreading wash days for almost a year because the two textures are killing me! I almost gave up once, but your videos and KNOWLEDGE have given me hope! Thanks so much for doing what you do and taking the time to share it with the world!! You truly know hair and have given me hope that I can do this transition and stay natural.
You are amazing!!! I've been natural for 6 years and every time I wanna give up on my hair, I go through your videos and have renewed hope... And I will finally give the Mixed Chicks line a try :)
YES! Thank you! This is exactly what I need! I've been transitioning for more than a year now and I want to straighten my hair for my birthday in March! Thanks for the video!
I am so glad I stumbled upon this video. I am 3 months post - relaxer and I was definitely headed to the store for a relaxer tomorrow. This video has inspired me to stick it out and given me an alternative to "the big chop"... Thank you and stay blessed!!!! -New Subbie
I am so glad I watched this. I am a year and a half into transistioning and realize the shedding is because 1) i am not caring for the line of demarcation enough and 2) too much tension during blow dry and detangle when wet. Thanks for these good tips.
I love how whenever anyone goes to the shop or to a friend who can lay hair the end result is always a smile especially when they get what they came in for... Good job which I could find a stylist like you in Austin who is trying to charge a arm and a leg to do natural hair.
Mo, you have transformed my hair. I'm a relaxed girl, but I stretch my hair for long periods. I also wanted to workout more frequently and used the tips in your workout vid to save my styles so I could stop using it as an excuse not to. I never comment on vids. Not sure why, but your vids are so precise, clear, and devoid of unnecessary talking or the latest product fad. Just plain brilliant but simplistic tips and products to achieve the best hair possible. The vids and you're voice are very soothing, almost like I'm sitting in a class with a teacher I want to learn from and thinks she's super cool. Really, Mo, thank you for just breaking it down and making my hair an easier task to take on!
This is very helpful for me because I decided to transition from relax to natural. Wish I had someone near by who is natural like you and have experience about it to help but I will stick to watching your videos. I want to grow out my new growth more before doing a big chop.
Some naturals should allow transitioners to do their thing and not making a mountain deal that everyone must big chop their hair Do what works for you and let others do theirs Whew these natural journey is a journey after all towards healthy hair and your preferences
this is my life. Mo my hair looks like hers after most washes and Im relaxed...after 4 weeks I can hardly get a comb through my hair...glad to see someone with hair like mine!!!!
Oh my! I've been to rough on my hair. I've been shedding like a cat and couldn't figure out why. I was combing and brushing while it was wet. Glad I watched this. I'll be more careful from now on.
This is a great tutorial. I love your methods :) Please continue to do more with transitioning hair :) There aren't many out there and you definitely have the best ones.
I'm transitioning as well. My last relaxer was Feb 2013. These are good tips. I don't cut my own hair, but I do blow dry and flat iron. I purchased chi brilliance product b/c you used it. My next purchase is going to be the Mixed chicks line. Thanks
***** I checked there I think it was either Tues or Wed night and it was out of stock :-( I'll most likely wait until I go to Atlanta and I'm sure I can find it there.
Hey! I just wanted to thank you for your super helpful videos, and your website is the sugar honey iced tea (lol, I'm 21 and in college and just sounded so old). I went and looked at the calendar you created for her transition and it's really something I desperately could use. Again, thank you so much for these tools & videos! Hope all is well.
Hello, I came across your site a few days ago and I really enjoy your videos. I tried to transition to natural about two years ago but my hair looked like the young lady in this video and so I went back to a relaxer because of time constraints. Maybe I will try again. Thank you
Argh! All of those steps, all of that time and all of the sectioning..... only to have to do it again soon. I remember those days and I don't miss it. Still, I'm glad that you're helping those who are still down for the struggle!
Awesome vid! Transitioning is not a joke.. took me almost 2 years but I did it, wish this vid was around when I was going through...great job as always!!!!

Girlllll watching this video did not make me miss my transitioning hair!!! Lawd the flashbacks I had while watching this video!! Lol!! But beautiful job!!
Omg sooo helpful! My last relaxer was July so we are pretty much at the same level and have similar textures. I cant wait to see what other videos you do with her...hopefully a lot lol
Mo I think you know what I'm going through right now I'm transitioning & I'm trying to find good products. Please do some transitioning protective hairstyles I would really appreciate that love your channel ❤️❤️
i am available tomorrow for a trim, lol. You make me want to seek a stylist, but I have had too many bad experiences. Great videos with really useful information.
I would luv to see me videos with you doing her transitioning hair.. I'm transitioning also (last relaxer was 7/5/13) and have not been using any type of heat...
Thank you sooo much for this vid!! *Please do a follow-up. My hair looks exactly the same (not sure what my hair type is) and would love to see how it progresses.
I help my with her transitioning hair and yes that area of demarcation is so aggravating but I do take my time and sge isretaining length great job mo!
My hair is exactly like this, bushy from the roots and straight at the ends :( im currently transitioning and just wearing my hair in a bun! thanks for this video its so helpful, could you do more please
I transitioned about 4 years ago with wigs and cutting 3 inches at a time over 2 years! I no longer straighten my hair. Love your technique though. I'll try it on my daughter she loves straight hair!
THANK YOU! I am 11 months in on transitioning no heat no trims nothing. . .& I wanna straighten my hair b4 summer gets here because it will be totally pointless but anyway I seriously thought that I could not straighten it at all.
Thank you for this video!!!! My hair is just like hers. Please do a roller set with medium size perm rods and a rollet set with flex rods on her hair. I would also like to see her get a silk wrap / ceran wrap with curls and then straightened hair. If you could throw in a braidout to seal in moisture then that would be great. Thanks in advance!!!!!! Sorry for the list. You are amazing.
OMG, I so need you... I've been transitioning for 6 months now And it's so hard... I'm so tempted to relax... but I'm trying not to.. It seems like my hair is so worse since I've stopped relaxing.. do you travel?? Where are you located?? I'm desperate!!
Mo, please come do my hair!! I love what you did for your friend. I'm currently transitioning my hair and I love the advice you give here! I wrote down all the products you used on her hair and I'm going to see if I find them at Sally. I also subscribed because your videos are very informative.
Yes...yes yes been waiting for these types of videos i've been waiting for could you do a roller set video on transitioning hair and also will you do doing tutorials for relaxed hair or just natural hair

God bless you
Am I the only one that watches her videos twice in a row? I love your vids, they give me life. Keep up the good work!
I love how you describe and explain each and every step so that we can understanding why we're doing this process. Some videos just have music, and that's it, which doesn't help me at all. Her hair came out beautifully.
You did a wonderful job of detangling. I don't see a lot of stylist taking that much and care with someone's hair. Everything turns out lovely.
Just want to say that I truly appreciate the thought and care you put into your videos. As a hairstylist as well, I like to get product suggestions from you because I not only get a thorough description, but also get to see the products at work! Kudos

I know this video was 6 years ago but this is the best silk press video I’ve seen so far. Very detailed. Thank you Mo
Pleasant! A stylist who displays the true definition of “trimming hair”. 💕
You are amazing!!! I've been natural for 6 years and every time I wanna give up on my hair, I go through your videos and have renewed hope... And I will finally give the Mixed Chicks line a try :)
Mo, you are a beast!!! You truly have a God given talent. I love being one of your subbies.
blown away by how knowledgeable you are. your friend is so lucky to have you, mo!!

I can't get enough of your videos
Hi Mo...You are an amazing stylist and I've learned a lot about maintaining my natural hair. Keep up the good work!
I'm transitioning as well. My last relaxer was Feb 2013. These are good tips. I don't cut my own hair, but I do blow dry and flat iron. I purchased chi brilliance product b/c you used it. My next purchase is going to be the Mixed chicks line. Thanks
