I watched reruns of this in the 2000’s.
We early 2000's kids got our own exposure with late night reruns. Even now this plays in my head.
I was born in 2002 and I watched Batman the animated series with everything after that, spiderman the animated series and unlimited, and this show. I obviously watched a lot of the shows that came after as well but I feel like I grew up in great time to watch these shows that came before me and some great shows that came after me. We don’t have shows like this anymore.
Love that contrast between Charles and Magneto’s powers in the end- the open mind vs. the closed fist.
Great take on it. I've always loved how the music syncs in on Magneto closing his fist.

Both Magneto and Xavier are very much like Sinestro and Abin Sur in Green Lantern
Which makes the new way Magneto is going in '97 series interesting. Symbolically his fist is still clinched, but now maybe not so tightly.

I think that X-Men 97 did a great job of reimagining this theme and I especially love all the sequences with the added characters (especially Morph). But I can't lie, the original just slaps way harder

@@smugfortuneV2 oh it most certainly does have some nostalgic pandering in it, I think it comes with the territory. I feel like the quality of the writing heavily overshadows it though. It's just such an incredible show with Hilarious, heartwarming, gut wrenching moments that have stuck with me ever since I watched it. I'm actually due for a rewatch soon

with modern day SJW writers though. The voice actors are back coming back which is good, but it's not the same writing staff which is bad. Some of the original writers/creators are back. Some of the original creators have gone super woke lately, which is problematic. Modern SJW writers can't handle 90's wolverine, he smokes, drinks, cusses at people.

This theme song is AWESOME; so many memories. I was skeptical of X-Men 97, but they did a bang out job of reviving the series.🎉

Holy crap.. being born in '87, brother in '85, this sow was our shyte! We also loved that xmen game on Sega, the side scroller where you started off in the jungle and could play co-op, and if one of you played as wolverine you essentially had infinite heals because you could stand over the top of each other in-game and your health would equalize, but with Logan's supermutant healing factor, he would heal all the way, then stand over each other again, health equalizes, rinse and repeat... but yea man, this cartoon was beloved by us very much.
