This is one of my favourite segments of the series. So much character comes out! I'm from Canada and we have our own version of Dragons; Den. Though I find our version has more interesting deals being made, with royalties and loans and so forth on the table as well, I find the British version much more appealing because of the character of the dragons on this show, particularly the older series. Also, I think the British version does a better job of conveying a stronger sense of authenticity about the Dragons, rather than the Canadian Dragons constantly being focused on marketing themselves. That's my take!
I was on a crunch at work today and having Dragon's Den play in the background as my white noise. When it came to this episode, i had to stop what I was doing because the inventor's story was told in such a way you'd really want to stop and listen! He has a heart of gold, that man, and he may have left empty handed, but I was glad to leave him my respect and time. And to think he made the rotating line in honor of his wife. If that's not love, I do not know what love is. And Peter's idea isn't so bad, if he could provide the patent to someone competent in the market to sell the product, he may well still be receiving income thru that alone. Bless this man. I'm sure if i'd meet him in real life, I'd have a blast talking to him :)
