So if they took the other 3, they'd have had international patent expertise, an introduction to a power-tool manufacturer with billions in sales & a top tech team in China. I have to say I think, much as I respect Deborah's retail experience, they definitely made the wrong choice.

Deborah took a lot of construction deals and I think in a few episodes she claimed to have be an expect in that stuff. So I don't know.
Deborah is a heavy construction/DIY investor.

I don’t think they could have gone wrong either way. Deborah’s bread and butter is the construction industry. Whilst the other 3 dragons offered a lot, having 3 might be a case of to many cooks spoil the broth type thing

Deborahs not a mistake, cause Sarah indirectly confirmed the patent won't be an issue. Also having one dragon with 25% is better than 3 at ten cause Deborah highlighted everything the other 3 said, so it reduces conflict and her having 25% a meaty chunk ensures that she will be an active investor. The other 3's plan was Tej just introduces, sarah just ensures the patent and touker just manages the team in china , But Deborah already had a supplier in mind and can get expert help for a patent, also finding a manufacturer in china isn't really hard especially with a patent.

Tej wants to license, I assume they weren't keen on that, and having 3 dragons is not necessarily better. Plus theyre in great hands with deborah
I would disagree. Imagine having to deal with and co-ordinate with 3 investors separately. While each of those 3 dragons had value they could add, having all 3 with their hands in the pot could get problematic. And Like ScopeY said, they might not have been keen on licensing it, and even if they were, it wouldn't be impossible to do without Tej.
They made the right choice to go with one. the three would be fighting for dominance and make it a shit fest. Management wise it's a perfect decision
Deborah didn't invest in the end according to their facebook page. I'd say the scamdemic lockdowns haven't helped, the stapler gun is still in production.

As another electrician, When they mentioned about the regulations about supporting cables for fire. Doesn’t it have to be a metal fixing or metal cable tie above walkways for this regulation? No point using a plastic staple that will melt
Each of 4 Dragons was willing to invest and bringing something different and valuable to the business and I was surprised they did not explore a 4 way deal. Wish them luck.

I don't know, another commentor on another thread explained that the 3 dragons thing hinged on Tej's part of *LICENSING* it to a construction/manufacturer megacorp(so the couple's firm will only largely likely be R&D and receiving royalty of some sorts) for a few years then exit out when another company buys them out. I'm guessing the husband wants to actually make and sell his product together with his wife.
Deborah has had lots of success with similar products.

Probably the correct deal - makes sense to go with one Dragon who has more of a vested interest in the business. Three is a bit complicated, and will inevitably dilute interest although what they could all bring to the table did make sense to a certain extent.

I LOVE SARA I remember watching her so much on TV Create & Craft she is always so Pashanite gives her whole self in what ever she dos. I can remember her designing & creating a craft station that had basically all you needed to make cards in this 1 product it cut , folded embossed differed patterned it made boxes, envelopes, different style cards the list is endless all you needed extra was glue, tape. I still have this item nearly 15 years later it's been used well & still going strong. She is so lovely even though she proberly quite a rich woman she has never forgot her roots never changed

I mean, Debrah is THE dragon in construction; which is presumably where this tool will be used mostly. And while yes, 3 dragons can add a lot of value, Debrah can kinda do it all on her own. I think Debrah was actually a smart choice here, and with 1 dragon having a bigger % stake, they are more likely to put in more work too.
They made the right choice. Better to have the focus of one person - especially one that specialises in this field - and it's for less equity. Just her connections with Home depot will make it worth it

@@Shipwrrreck understand that there is no patent but I don't think it will be a huge success as they think it will, The prototype looks and sounds like a toy . Like most tradies sparkies give their tools a thrashing. The size of this product is a benefit but they need it to be robust. Just looked at their website they are still yet to manufacture any.

Why would they pick Debrah over the other 3 sharks?? Just doesn't make sense, the other 3 provide way more expertise than just 1 shark and they would only be giving up 5 more percent for it. Completely baffled
Maybe they want to keep it simple with 1 dragon. I would say Deborah has equal expertise in Patent and IPs when compared to Sarah, and she is also very well known in the construction sector so that explains why they went with Deborah over Tej (Although Tej did say he has a major contact, but I can't see why Deborah can't get that as well). Overall, Deborah does bring a lot to the table. The couple can focus on manufacturing and tooling, and save the 5%. I don't think it was a bad choice...
