Looked fantastic, Hobo. Growing up, we never used charcoal for smoking, only wood. Tell Mr. HMB that, "Wood is good". He will know what it means. If I feel energetic sometime soon, I may let you guys see my wood burner. I haven't used it in at least 8 years,it will need some maintenance. It is the simplest design and was basically free to make.

There is nothing better than pork butt! So good, but so bad for us lol. Well done video, glad I checked it out. Kindly, Theresa and Cam
Wow that looked excellent!
That turned out excellent Hobo ...
Very cool. Definitely have never seen this technique before. Changing the game. Cheers!
Nice job Hobo
Awesome job and it looked picture perfect...on my way 😆
Looks so good. Clever idea!
Hell yea! Brilliant!!!
Right on brother!! Great idea, hands down 1 of the coolest ideas yet to smoking a Boston Butt!! I hope T-Roy Cooks saw this . I'm sure his boys would give you a huge thumbs up also!
Great Job!!!

That looked Delicious there Hobo!
Impressive result
So time wise about four hours active cook under the lid, then another three wrapped in foil with charcoal and dome. Excited to try this. Thanks for the video!!!
I hope it turns out great for you
That looks like a lot of fun. It’s very similar to the way pit cooking is done in and around NC.
Looked damn good to me. Dig that whole set up. Good stuff
Cool cook Hobo
Just got my 22” gabbys grill. I have a jumbo joe. I will be doing this very soon.
Open pit burning wood or wood coals can't be beat in taste and flavor. Looked delicious
Cool cooking method bro! Turned out great it looks like
Great stuff hobo
Oh pp looks great too
Very cool!! Loved seeing a pork butt smoked this way. I’d also be curious to see how it would go using the same setup, but without the lid. I guess it’d be more of a roast than a smoke, but who knows?
This is really clever way to use it.
I am pestering my wife into agreeing to us owning a welder - and making a santa maria acessory will be my first thing to make. If i dont convince her i a, sure i will figure something out somehow - i want one lol
That sounded extremely interesting. Not sure I grasp what is taking place since I can’t see it but sounds like you’re figuring it out
Hey look its smokin and grillin wit AB
have 22 inch weber just got my santa maria grill what size jumbo joe lid are you using in video anxious to try appreciated
The 18 lid works on the 22 inch. And the 14" works as a lid on the 18"
thanks for the timely response have you tried without the top just curious
Using it topless is great for grilling. But it wont work for large cuts of meats
FUCKIN FIRST EH
