  • Today we steam hot dogs using the antique 100 year old Swartzbaugh Manufacturing Company Conservo made in Toledo, Ohio. The conservo is a canner and a steam cooker. Antique 100 year old cooker that was the first for canning and steaming at home.

Just finished brazing some holes in ours last week! We’re down by Troy, OH. Brazing is the key to patching these old tin machines. We still use ours in place of water bath canning.

Tricked me for a sec. Where's the fire go? It's on the flat top lol. Cool equipment I've never seen before and would be great for canning lots of jars for sure. Looks like it could be a nice little cabinet smoker with charcoal in the bottom.

@@elHobo Drill a few holes and add vents but some people might freak because it's old. A nice coat of high heat engine paint and you got a gem.

So did I really see a full grown man use ketchup on the hot dog? Okay I guess if that's what you want to be known for. Wearing thong flip flops too?
