- We asked Mexican dads to rank each other's ceviche!
Arturo went deep sea fishing for his homemade bluefin tuna ceviche. Tiberio brought a tasty tilapia ceviche. Vicente prepared a shrimp ceviche that he learned to make while working at a seafood restaurant in Sinaloa, Mexico!

As soon as I heard Vicente say that he worked in a restaurant in Sinaloa, I knew his was going to be the best. You cant get away with mid ceviche in Sinaloa. Usually people add mayo to ceviche when the ceviche isnt actually good, since it will hide its flaws. Vicente is the only one of the three that knows how to make bomb ceviche. Good on you Vicente.
I agree my family is from Sinaloa and they don’t play about their ceviche. Mariscos are eaten everyday!
That is what i say when people add spicy stuff to food. They just take away the flavor. The spicy stuff overpowers everything a lot of times.
@@agentsmith7866 Depends, there spicy with no flavor and spicy with tons of flavor so it's 50/50. Usually the home made stuff gives the most amount of flavor.
i add mayo to my ceviche no matter how good it is😭it just tastes so good with it
@@alysiav173yess it adds the perfect amount of creaminess 😭
Breath of fresh air compared to the other channels that do things like this, like buzzfeed, it seems like during these challenges people are always so judgemental (in a bad way), laughing at every dish in front of them, but here it's so respectful and mindful of the other's palettes and techniques. I love it.
Gotta make the papahs rate each others carne asada next🙏🏼
They all have egos. They won't be honest
I feel like the tuna dude swears he’s a Michelin star level cook just cause he fishes 😂😂
nah bro put mayo on his tostada. my entire family is from sinaloa and I've NEVER seen anyone do some shit like that lol. not to mention he recommended tabasco or chalula, liiiike wtf
@@exactlywhatineededmayo on the tostada is very popular here in Mazatlan though jajaja
That's how we eat it in Sonora too, with mayo and valentina@@exactlywhatineeded
@@alexafernanda95 I love Valentina
I ain’t never heard of mayo on the tostada. But their always a first.
I'm not gonna lie, when Arturo said he uses Tuna I was thrown off. Felt like he was trying to be extra lol
1000%
Nah he wildin
Extra? It's part of his hobby
a lil extra but tbh the sashimi idea sounds good asf i’d try fs
The mayo on the tostada threw me off, my girls from Michoacán and they don’t do that
I just love these people! They are so respectful and kind to each other. ❤ Adorable papahs
gotta love when the dads rate each other! they’re very kind & respectful towards each other!
Shrimp ceviche is the GOAT.
I love shrimp and I agree with you
These dads are my absolute favourite react channel when it comes to food tasting. They are so kind and respectful and they never flat out mock anyones food. I wish we had more of this!
That's the only way I'll eat ceviche, shrimp only!!! Congratulations Vicente!!! 🎉🎉🎉
yesss
Love this, love that none of them are mean to the others. And love how even if it’s not for them they find things about it they can enjoy. Good trait I would want in a papah
I don’t know why I’m always so intrigued by tiberios opinion 😂😂 he is my fav
I have seen a few of these these now. Everybody is so beautiful to each other. It is funny to see the difference in scores when the dads score each other compared to the moms though.
Sin duda alguna el ceviche que hace Vicente es el mejor 🥰 en todas sus reuniones nos tiene una bandeja de Ceviche de Camarón 🦐 te quiero muchísimo hermano 😘
Tiberio: "It's edible."
These guys are so nice. I just love them.
To be fair to the bluefin guy I feel real proud when I cook something I harvested. Something about working for your food makes it feel so much better and taste better even ifs that’s just in our minds
He's being biased or over confident because he thinks that his freshly caught tuna is superior to the rest of the seafood used here. Using the correct fish for texture and flavor is more important. I'm not saying tuna ceviche isn't good. It's just not the right fish for the dish. If they were making "poke" then his fish would have been the best choice. As a chef I've made it with tuna but it's just not the right fish.
agreed
Honestly I thought it was just me thinking that
Tuna is never the right fish lol
I prefer sea bass or halibut for ceviche.
@@richwood8650 halibitch is pretty good, sea bass is so buttery I’ve never had it as ceviche before, I’d have to try it
Arturo made pocho ceviche
That was well deserved. Arturo was extras other guy was chillin was just vibing. But the winner had a chill vibe from the beginning and he made the type of ceviche i like the lemon cooks the fish/shrimp thats key to the perfect ceviche.
Vicente is the man jajaja Felicidades se me antojo
I love that we as Latinos can give each other love and respect, and prop each other up.
I love how nice they are to each other
that mayo has the walmart discount price sticker on it. that makes the whole dish auténtica
Mexican dads be the coolest dudes you meet and always throw down for cookouts
Hola Papahs...great delicious content...congrats Vincente on your winning ceviche 🎉🎉🎉...love you Papahs from the USA 🇺🇸 ❤😊
All very humble dudes 👍🏼
Blue fin tuna doesn't make for a good ceviche. That's why no chef makes it with that. I'm not saying it's bad but it's not something I nor the majority of chef would use for a ceviche.
1:19 tapatío a must that’s how I knew his was definetly not the best lol nothing beats Huichol for seafood
Although huichol is for more seafood. No one is stoping me from throwing tapatio on any and every food 😂
@ do your thing brother lol I respect it
Your tripping tapatio on ceviche is fire 🔥 tf
Yes but Huichol habanera not original
Growing up I never saw anyone eat ceviche with mayo but now it’s very common. When did that trend start?
I have no idea lol my family doesn’t use mayo , but new traditions are common now I think
Probably just a regional thing that started spreading. Mayo is fat and fat is yummy after all 😂
Its a thing in Sinaloa, we been doing it forever so it probably just got popular recently here in the US just like anything else Mexican
we always used mayo on ours "mayonesa"
I grew up eating ceviche with out mayo but in the last five years I do put mayo sometimes
The second one looks like the ceviche I make, love it 😍😍😍 made me hungry and want to go make my kids some dinner.
One thing I'm going to do is root for Arturo, and I loved that he used his blue fin, and caught the cajun seasoning, but Vicente's looked the best to me, and I'm glad his won. I love how bright it was too!! Now, if I could get Arturo's blue fin, in Vincente's ceviche, that works. LOL. Team no mayo with ceviche. I always love this group.
I always thought that tuna would be delicious for this because of how hearty it taste and I'm glad to see it! I'm gonna try it and ofc con mi michelada!!!
Bro, the dudes are so nice to each other! Haha
I need mexican dads eat Salvadoran food 😁
Pupusas, pan con pollo, Salvadoran horchata, and Salvadoran quesadilla
they already did that
Salvadoreans have the best Aguas Frescas
What a coincidence I am about to have ceviche for lunch now , my wife went to her mothers yesterday and brought back a big tupperware container full of ceviche along with home made tostadas .
Thanks For this Guys! Love your content ❤❤❤
Good to see Arturo back
3:03 eres mi gallo padrino, pinche actitud fregona jajaja
I’ve made it with Bluefin, yellow tail, bonito, rockfish, sand bass, sculpin. All of it is fire!!
When it comes to cooking every dad think they are the best, including me and we are the biggest critics. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Echenle Valentina. So gooood
When he said he doesn’t use avocado I knew it wasn’t the one
in my opinion if you're gonna use something as expensive as bluefin you shouldn't cover up the taste with something like mayo
Sinaloa has bomb ass sea food in general, Ceviche is literally an appetizer for them
When bro said it tasted like paprika he automatically lost 💀 everybody knows paprika don’t have a taste
Hell yeah all about ceviche!! Congrats too them !! I want try hahaha
first dude loses automatically for the hot sauces he recommended and also for judging the other dudes ceviche for being too "shrimpy". the most redundant thing I've heard
Bro ur on to nothing with this.🤣 every person was nice about what they ate and were not judgmental towards any of it. Also he only recommended one sauced which was tapatio. And if u don’t like tapatio I imagine u are a middle aged white woman with short blonde hair and mayonnaise is used in all your recipes
@@kevinmariano22 so him saying cevixhe is too shrimpy not redundant? my family is from culiacan, we perfected ceviche and agua chile and any other Mexican marisco you can think of you, idk what you put, its wrong. and we use guacamaya over here, tapatio if for no sabo kids like you
Tapatio literally goes with ceviche
@@DerekSeptember but it doesn’t. It’s for chips and soups not sea food. I’m telling you, we use guacamaya. It’s better than tapatio. That or salsa culichi which is made from chilitepin which originated in Sinaloa. They have one that’s black which is soy sauce based which also goes on sea food. I’m telling you, we are the city capitol of the best sea food in Mexico, how tf you gonna tell me?
@@exactlywhatineededWatching you declare which hot sauce is or is not "correct" is hilarious because it's something that's subjective. I don't know how delusional you have to be to feel qualified to tell people they are wrong for using a hot sauce other than what you use. 😂
They are a good DAD!
This was one of the best episodes
I USE AHI TUNA MIXED WITH TALAPIA AND SHRIMP !!😊😊😊
Glad I came to the comments to see everybody was thinking what I was about Arturo 😭😂
3 different styles and approaches never heard of the tuna mayo bluefin would wanna try it tho
La gente de Sinaloa son chingones para concinar especialmente con el marisco !
This was such a cute video!!
The caption said toast but I think you meant tostada. The tuna ceviche looks good! I love tuna! It’s like a dish I had in Puerto Rico! Sooo good! I love tostadas in general though, minus pulpo and tilapia. I don’t like the texture of pulpo. I definitely want to try Ganador’s ceviche!!
Mayo in ceviche!?
It’s a Sinaloa thing. Sinaloa makes the best seafood
Dad i love ceviche😂😂😂 @Tiberio
MAYO??
Try it. It’s amazing, some of the best ceviche is from Baja California Mex and they put mayo on tostada.
@@GorJitsu no the best is from sinaloa. mayo is some pocho shit
@@exactlywhatineeded different style canijo. I like em both. To each is own. It’s like people who eat Baja fish tacos with chipotle some without.
@@GorJitsu I guess so cause we eat sea food 24/7 and mayo and chipotle never touch my food.
All of them look so good!!! However, I won't do none of those sauces, "Valentina for sure" :D
Fade haircut , beard, glasses. Yup… 100% Mexican pops.
The bluefin tio been watching masterchef too much 😭😭 póngase a trabajar
Vicente knows his shii
Claro que iba a ganar el de la receta shinola!
*Arturo eats a shrimp ceviche*
“It’s got a shrimpy taste, I don’t really like it”
I guess i’ve been having tuna ceviche for hella long lmao 😂 we make this and we just call it tuna
Some of yall have only heard of the dessert part of Mexico but you guys forget Mexico has islands and beaches different types for different cultures also Peru is known for having the best ceviche
Shrimp, tilapia, or bluefin to me, they all looked good!
Bro, You will never get mexican dads to like anyones food but their own. 😂😂😂 My dad says "mas o menos" to everything he tries, its just a old school mexican thing i guess.
Bro why is the second dads recipe EXACTLY like my dads recipe😭
As I peruvian I'd love to try all these delicious mexican dishes! But tbh the only one I'd call a ceviche is the 2nd one, I mean, mayo? damn
Mayo on ceviche? 😅 gotta try that tho lol
Gotta use Mayonesa McCormick tho in my opinion best one especially with a good aguachile of ceviche
Listen! When you do ceviche and you fixe it in your tostada put tapatio and Valentina together, trust! Thank me later!
mayo on ceviche is beyond ridiculous but then again hes using tuna so its all a shit show the worst by far...
i go to many peruvian restaurants so i know what real ceviche is like and this made me tear up
is mexico they use mayo for the tostadas for the ceviche. my grandma and sister eat it like tht. tuna with mayo and pico de gallo is hella good
😂😂
arturo is the no sabo dad final boss
So just an fyi im a white dude from California but grew up in vegas and one of my good friends is Mexican and his wife is from Sonora and she does catering and her big dish that everybody buy is her ceviche and tamales but with her ceviche she ads clamato and ive had alot of different types of ceviche but her is off the charts. Uses shrimp btw .
Honestly my favorite
Arturo lost me at Mayo 😭
Tuna is not for me, glad they did his way. Great video
Yall have never tried different types of ceviche and it shows, but first guy thinks he has the best ceviche 😂
Keep the tuna for the sushi. Give me some authentic ceviche.
The 2nd dad got a little sugar in his tank extra diddy😂
Ye once homie said he adds a little ketchup I knew he truly was paisa as fuck lol
How do I get on this show?! My ceviche will take all of theirs out.
Sashimi ceviche sounds fucking wonderful
If you add Mayo or ketchup, you LOST!
Arturo the I’m an American not a Mexican vibes goes with his cooking.
Tiberios definition of an old skool Mexican picky and complains and thinks no one better.
Vicente the 80s type Mexican laid back cool go with the flow.
All goes with their cooking
Let me guess why the man with the shrimp ceviche won…… ahhhh cuz it’s SUPPOSED TO BE SHRIMP!!!! 😂😂😂
Bluefin is endangered.
When I heard Sinaloa I knew that was the one.
That’s a tuna salad from first guy. Would still eat it but not consider it ceviche lol
Damn would’ve appreciated the recipe 🥲
Subbed!!
Who knows? Maybe? Perhaps, possibly, that one guy might make some decent ceviche.
Peruvians watching: 😵💫
Mayo on ceviche😂😂😂bro lost already , get that man out of there.
Comment will probably be taken down but, My dad is asking “ how do I get on this show??” He’s ex chef who served narcos y miembros del cartel. Cocteles, ceviches, camarones enchipotlados, etc. His seafood will humiliate these noobs. He even got hired to serve at a narco wedding
I love Ceviche. Colorado people don't make Ceviche like California. I mean it's not just in grocery stores.
Would imagine the ceviche with the tuna would be close to tuna tar tar
I thought Joseph Stalin was dead. Now i find him rating hot sauces and ceviche?
