Emphasising the point of this goal actually really helps explain how it got that name, like if youve ever seen a dog when they first get up to run towards you? That one stretch they do as they get up honestly looks so good on the spine us humans NEED it
So good at explaining the mechanics! Just a few days after finding your videos I’m noticing improvements in my practice, and I’ve been doing yoga for 11 years!
Update: the big improvement in my forward bends is continuing since focusing on the pelvic rotation. Very happy to have stumbled on this video and channel.
Wow! Thank you for this explanation! I have never understood this stretch because I cannot touch my heels to the ground. I’m going to try your moves and see if it helps me get the correct stretch!
I never do downdog without a warm up. And I'm flexible, very flexible. I don't understand why, we have to do this position without one, and why beginners aren't given an options.
I found the perfect UA-cam video for its subject matter. bravo! I’m personally grateful for the specificity of the verbal explanations so I don’t feel like I missed out on anything.
Aaaaaah, THANK YOU Leggings!! Always, in yoga they say “...as you inhale, press your thumb n forefinger into the mat...(I may be paraphrasing here, cause I’m lost in The Zone)..and on the exhale (here’s my point) lift your sits bones to the sky” This is when I think...lift my sits bones?!!....but....my feet, and gravity...! Thank you Leggings for telling it straight. Pelvic tilt, like puppy, got it. I’d subscribe again if I could.
You are such a wonderful teacher. I can only imagine what your students are able to acheive when they receive in person training from you. Thanks again for another great explanation. You make all of these poses seem so accessible.
have to say you are fantastic, the way you explain the science behind poses and various stretches really helps. I ended up finding my lower back would really stiffen up during yoga, mostly because of downward dog lol, nobody online is giving technique explanations as good as yours
Love the instructions, actually never seen or even heard anyone explain this, though I've done it the way you say isn't the goal of this pose, and it has actually helped me a lot. My body is now really straight compared to before, when I had too much anterior pelvic in neutral standing position, and my entire body feels way better, so I think it's good to mention it isn't exactly bad to do it with heels completely down, unless it has some very bad effect in the long run that I don't know of. But keep being awesome, you are bringing up things rarely anyone talks about, which is great! 😊
Am so glad you pointed this out. I remember when I first became interested in starting yoga i did an in person class and i just knew people were giving me weird looks because I couldn't touch my hills to the floor.
Oops ive been doing that posterior pelvic tilt for quite sometime now without even knowing lol. No wonder i never felt much in my hammies 😂 thanks for the video. Can you one like this for the shoulders as well? Im confused in internal rotation thing while our arma go overhead
Unfortunately this is also a way for some people to develop proximal hamstring tendinopathy, or the dreaded "yoga butt", as I learned the hard way.😭If you know you're hypermobile, consider being cautious about how much you anteriorly tilt your pelvis.🙏She sure looks great doing it though. Beautiful💙
I believe bending the knees, is a good option if your heel don't touch the floor. But I know I would have injuries if all my foot ain't touching the floor in this position. This is not the first I heard teachers it's ok. In my opinion, it's not. For all the stress you would put on your joints, and on how you missed out with an inproper downdog.
Interesting! Also very cute like the nurse explaining how your catheter works without embarrassment. I had no idea that was the focus. Based on your video I can see where that would be a benefit. 😉
That's why my back never feels stretched. I swear I have only felt it once or twice and always thought I was doing it wrong or just had really flexible back and hamstrings... Apparently all the above. Especially the wrong part.
I feel both enlightened and entertained.
I feel like I have ass in my face.
Here this whole time, I thought we were supposed to be stretching calfs with this pose. 😁
Me too lol
Me too 😂
me too ?
Me too
me too, me too
This was SO helpful as I’ve never been able to really get the hang of this pose before
I’ve been going to yoga classes for about 5 years, this is the best explanation I’ve ever seen. Thank you!
The way you explain poses and the cues you give are PHENOMENAL. I am so happy I found your channel!
Not gonna lie that first frame got my attention.
Emphasising the point of this goal actually really helps explain how it got that name, like if youve ever seen a dog when they first get up to run towards you? That one stretch they do as they get up honestly looks so good on the spine us humans NEED it
Love that "tadaaa" 💕
This is so helpful, I feel like this is 'basic' so gets overlooked. Much appreciated ❤

Your smile and energy 😊🤗😊🤗😊
Wow! Thank you for this explanation! I have never understood this stretch because I cannot touch my heels to the ground. I’m going to try your moves and see if it helps me get the correct stretch!
Very helpful!!! I typically avoid downdog for this very reason - this feels soooo much better with that anterior tilt! You're a life saver!
I never do downdog without a warm up. And I'm flexible, very flexible.
I don't understand why, we have to do this position without one, and why beginners aren't given an options.
Your positivity is contagious
I never heard this explanation before and have been doing the move for years. Thanks for the information on this technique.

Have you done a hard 90 min yoga session yet?
Excellent advise
Aaaaaah, THANK YOU Leggings!!

Yes I was so frustrated that I couldn't put my heels down (and to straighten my knees) doing this, now I know it is not necessary
You are such a wonderful teacher. I can only imagine what your students are able to acheive when they receive in person training from you. Thanks again for another great explanation. You make all of these poses seem so accessible.

Am so glad you pointed this out. I remember when I first became interested in starting yoga i did an in person class and i just knew people were giving me weird looks because I couldn't touch my hills to the floor.
I have problems in that area for years, and i never could do that exercise, i will try this way, thank you.

Oops ive been doing that posterior pelvic tilt for quite sometime now without even knowing lol. No wonder i never felt much in my hammies 😂 thanks for the video. Can you one like this for the shoulders as well? Im confused in internal rotation thing while our arma go overhead
I’m trying to stay focused, but mind mind keeps imagining her sit down muscles 😂

This is so great to know cause I always be wonderin!

Yep, she has a video warning about yoga butt. You don't want to just do stretching you also need to strengthen.

That's why my back never feels stretched. I swear I have only felt it once or twice and always thought I was doing it wrong or just had really flexible back and hamstrings...
Apparently all the above. Especially the wrong part.
Thank fk lmao I’ve been struggling so much to have my feet flat on the floor 🤣
Same lol.... but I'll never execute this pose the same way again now that I know what the point actually is
Great tip, LL! Love those socks, too lol
