I have never found instructions that include understanding that it can be difficult for some of us to do the moves at first. Showing us how to do little "until you get better" steps like using blocks is amazing. The most helpful is just the way you explain things with explicit detail as you show us what to do. I am a little hampered by my autism so many videos that just tell me what to do with no "how" are incomprehensible to me. Your channel is a heaven of a find for me and I will be sharing my happiness with it on FB with all my friends and family :)
The Lateral Tilt stretch is a GAMECHANGER for me!!! There are muscles in my shoulders I have been struggling to find stretches for... I almost started crying from relief a second ago when I felt that one stretch hit ALL OF THEM 🎉🥳
OMG! The bending your legs for hamstring one is LIFECHANGING! I was trying to find it to send it to someone and it me awhile, it totally deserves its own video!
I rate this channel highly - I like to think I have worked with some very good yoga teachers in the gym, but the explanations on here make a lot of sense. One in particular I liked was regarding the sciatic nerve glide as opposed to just keep concentrating on the hamstrings. The grimacing and poor posture to highlight poses done badly also looks very similar to how I feel much of the time!
I truly love how you connect human physiology and kinesiology to yoga!!! As well as what poses we can do, with some modifications, to help ourselves Thank you!! ❤
I love your videos, Liv! Another great one, with your visuals, scientific explanation and lovely infectious positivity your channel is one of my faves.
The Golden during the last stretch instruction was priceless. Thank you for this video, and since I am on the topic, that last stretch for the foot is a game changer. You are a wonderful instructor with amazing visual aids. I am thrilled I found your channel.
I have a HUGE request for you: Can you make a video: "How to: Pancake?" There are countless videos about exercises like "Cossack Squats" or "Standing Pancake", which I can easily do if done correctly. But when I'm down on the ground, just sitting on a straddle, the adductors immediately go into painful protective tension, even though I've been specifically training the adductors for months. Thank you very much for your sooooo valuable work. Thanks to you, I managed to cross the bridge for the first time. ✌
I absolutely love your enthusiasm and positive vibe. You might be surprised just how inflexible a 50+ year old male body can be. I can get to step 2, at the most, of any of your instructions, but it has given me a good solid laugh at myself. I'll start with some simpler stretches for now and revisit your video in the future. Thank you for this uplifting video.
Can you make mobility videos for morning stretching, evening stretching, and workout stretching. Your information is great, and there is a lot of it. It is hard to navigate as to what stretches are best, and it is easy to follow along with routines Thanks so much for what you do!
Ur motivational and victorious smile at the end of every exercise keeps me going to achieve the same! You are simply the VERY BEST!!! Thank you for each clarifying, step by step explanation and the pictures of each muscle/s involved in the exercise. Visualizing what is involved makes it so much easier to accomplish. 💪🙏
Thank you so much for this video! You explained everything so well. And definitely helped me figure out better ways to stretch without hurting my back.
Cannot applaud this enough. Amazing. I have struggled with pain originating from tight glute med & this stretch is fantastic, I immediately tried all of them - so effective, what a great video, thank you 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I don't usually agree with videos like this. But the glute medius focus of the cow stretch, immediately felt great on my tight glute medius on the one side and comfortable on the non tight side. Then you reminded me of the eagle arms pose, which I haven't done for a while because I forgot it. Told me how to use it for the supraspinatus, which is damaged, and needs work. Fantastic stuff.
Hi Liv! First stretch was perfect! The lateral tilt though I don’t seem to have the flexibility to get into. Is there an adjustment or beginner version of this?
It would be lovely to see some advice/exercise routines for people who have hypermobility. We find it extra difficult to stretch and can do ourselves a lot more damage trying. But we need to strengthen muscles around joints to protect them and it's difficult to find relaible online exercises we can do from home.
Thank you for this explanation and how-to. You give me so much homework! I'm slowly working thru a severe IT Band/Piriformis/SI Joint/hip flexor/fascia (yes, the fasica too!) problem and ready for the next level that I believe your channel will provide.
Excellent presentations of how-to-heal-from-sitting-work. Thank you very much. As a non-biologist it would be easier to follow your words, when the body pictures are in the main role in time (not the speaking head). So more time-in-the-air for muskles and bones etc.
hold a dumbbell, while doing hand stretches, you will do more. like in hand lateral tilt. Use the weight, how much is comfortable for you. similar usage of weighted stretching in other forms.
Little feedback ☺️ which is meant in your best interest so you can grow! The intro was way too long and didn’t have enough “attention grabbing ques/pop ups” I very nearly clicked away. But I pushed through and realised your content is very good!
Fabulous channel!! I watched you do the cow face stretch and thought ‘ah yeah, how hard can that be’ 😅😅😅 Turns out - VERY hard haha. Thank you, will now make a habit of doing these.
Loved your video ❤ Easy stretching ideas given me more options to help when I struggle with Yoga/motivation/Flexibility. Made it seem more achievable. UA-cam is amazing with Home work out ideas but nt being very flexible makes yoga/pilates alot harder. Gaining strength & flexibility will make it more enjoyable & actually make progress so this is just perfect for me ☺ Thank you!!
Thank you!, very useful advice, if I may, I would have liked a summary at the end, in the sense one exercise after another so that every time you don’t have to watch the whole video to do these stretching 😊 You’re amazing just you speak so fast😅, many many words per minute, English is not my mother tongue and I have a little trouble following you😊
I never realised why it was uncomfortable for my feet to be in the crouched down position with my heels up and now I know it’s becaue my fascia is too tight!! Thank you for these 🙏
thanks for the video! How long to hold the position and for how many repetitions? I am very stiff especially the hamstrings, hips and shoulders, I will try these exercises
Wow! Just saw your subs number. How awesome! Ive been watching you since the early days and am soo glad to see you catching attention. You have such charm and clear explanations. Hugs and high fives. ❤❤
I’m so glad you are sharing your info with the rest of the world and NOT trying to capitalize on it like that ilana (Russian woman that always talks about the vagus nerve and charges a fortune for her knowledge)
@livinleggings I love to learn about all things musculoskeletal & you taught me in this video with ease & full clarity, fantastic content - thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏- I will now proceed to binge watch the rest of your videos lol 🥳🥳🥳
Now I understand why my Japanese yoga instructor always started out yoga session asking us massage our foot arch on a ball or the round stones from the lake! 😮😅
With all of these exercises, I found out I'm more flexible than I thought 😂 I'm just really bad at splits and reaching my toes. Otherwise I love that Indian squat, it's comfortable and useful when tidying things while being on the floor.
yeah, you heared it right, she said the glute medious is a hip extensor. just as easy as aking chat gpt and the answer will literally be better👉 Hip abduction: The gluteus medius is primarily responsible for moving the leg away from the body's midline, such as when you lift your leg to the side. Pelvic stabilization: It plays a crucial role in stabilizing the pelvis, especially during walking or running, by preventing the pelvis from dropping on the opposite side. Internal rotation of the hip: The anterior fibers of the gluteus medius contribute to the internal rotation of the thigh. External rotation of the hip: The posterior fibers assist in the external rotation of the thigh.
I can't believe I forever believe eagle pose. It's such a great stretch. The toe stretch is, like frog pose, not my favourite, lol, so I likely need to do it more.
I love Cow Face pose! 🐮I often joke that my body was designed for this one pose to the detriment of all others. I've done the plantar fascia release with a ball previously and I agree the improvement in my forward fold is like magic. I've just tried the tilted eagle 🦅 - it doesn't seem too bad, but my body has the unfortunate ability do most shoulder opening poses (cow face, eagle, reverse prayer, thread-the-needle) quite easily yet my shoulders remain incredibly tight when they need to be open for backbends, inversions etc..🙁
That sounds like shoulder flexion is your issue, not the rotator cuff. Maybe try stretching your lats? The other issue could be shoulder impingement if you’re not stacking the shoulder correctly
@@walatalalaw Yes, no doubt that shoulder flexion is a issue for me. Lat stretching is one of the many things I try in order to achieve that elusive external rotation in flexion that I need for a comfortable Urdhva Dhanurasana. My comment was partly to highlight the irony that many of the poses often advocated as preparing the shoulders for backbends are very accessible to me.🙏
First, you're amazing. You make me wish I lived in Australia.... 2nd, that shoulder stretch - I can't even cross my elbows. they are a good 6 inches apart. I can feel my back stretching and my chest compressing when I attempt this...
Me too! I managed the goalpost bit, then as soon as she suggested crossing them I was gone! I was hoping for a "if you can't cross your arms then simply...." moment, but it didn't come! The others were doable though.
I have never found instructions that include understanding that it can be difficult for some of us to do the moves at first. That dog on the bed is living his best life 😂
💯Wandered to the comments 2 mins into the video to say the same thing 😂 🐾 ❤
This is what I was just about to write 😅😅😅
He is dead .. it's just his skin nd fur.. poor dog they didn't send him free 😑 with his soul .
I recently found this channel, trying to make my body more flexible. What can I say is that this channel is pure gold 👌
literally, i fell in lovee
I love it
❤

Wowwww your cow face and tilted eagle are actually lifechanging 👏🏻 Definitely sat in those poses for a couple mins each, it helped so much!
I just happened to watch this video after having a rather depressing day, and just watching this video made me feel 100% better. Thank you! 😊
Watching it made you feel better? Bit perverted. You're meant to do the exercise
I always listen to silver-haired elves when it comes to stretching.
You made my morning 😂🌞
Cute comment!😊
Especially with feet coverings

My biggest struggle are with my ankles. Could you do a video about ankle mobility, please? 😅
I love your videos, Liv! Another great one, with your visuals, scientific explanation and lovely infectious positivity your channel is one of my faves.
That dog is me watching this video right now. 😂😂😂

just the exercises i was looking for. would be great a full 30 min video of a routine :D thanks

When I grow up I want to be like your dog!! Contented!!
You and your videos are simply the best I found for stretching and mobility. Thank you so much for your work ❤
You make things so approachable and I love your manner

Very informative well explained and demonstrated thank you

Love your teaching style!❤
Just found your channel and love all the details on different stretches!!
Wow. Such great stretches. Thanks for taking the time to do these. Your site is very under appreciated
I love how you explain everything

Bravo. Thank you from Australia 🌷
Week #4! Ready!
Short, informative, regression, progression. Great video! Thanks.
Thanks, Liv. I didn't realize that foot fascia made such a difference.
Thank for posting these stretches! Your videos are really helpful.
My hamstrings entering the chat.
😂🤣 good luck with that
Amazing stretches I'd never heard of!
Ok, the sleepy pup on the bed, adorable! Thanks for the stretches!
So good. Been having shoulder issues for a couple of weeks and tilted eagle
Has really helped. Thanks so much.
Wow, that gave me a really good stretch for my hypermobile joints. Most stretches don't work for my joints but this did. Thanks
Thank you for this explanation and how-to. You give me so much homework! I'm slowly working thru a severe IT Band/Piriformis/SI Joint/hip flexor/fascia (yes, the fasica too!) problem and ready for the next level that I believe your channel will provide.
Brilliant video Liv 🙏 I live with MS & as such many flexibility issues. But this vid is top. 😊
Great video, love the way you explain and demonstrate everything . Many thanks 🙏🏻

Really gonna use this tips to see if I can get back my splits since I had an injury in my hamstring ... Thanks a lot !
Liv, you really are the best out there. Thank you for all your content.
Livingleggings is amazing. I wish I had her knowledge and ability. She sort of makes me feel bad about myself. But the content is gold.
Genius! Much appreciated ❤
Incredible content! GOLD!!! Thank you so much for creating this content & sharing it with the world!
Very helpful thank you❤

This is Gold.
Dance class really helps. They taught us to hold every stretch for 2 min and move with it to warm up.
OMG! 3 & 4 stretches are for me too! Thank you sooooo much xx
Thank you Liv ❤️ You are helping us so much with your videos to understand and accept our body :)
I was somewhat premature with my previous comment and question. I just saw the other video you referenced and that pretty much answered my question.
Look at the dog on the bed. What a life! I love it.
Thank you for your great video! 🌞
I love when you simulate pain to demonstrate hahaha it’s so funny ❤ thank you for the wonderful content, excited to put this in practice
I really love your videos. Thank you.
Brilliant !!!

This was a great video! The new stretches feel great! Thank you
This just revealed many deficiencies in my flexibility. Great video! BTW, any advice for men trying these stretches and being somewhat muscular???
I never realised why it was uncomfortable for my feet to be in the crouched down position with my heels up and now I know it’s becaue my fascia is too tight!! Thank you for these 🙏
Could you advise modification of suggested stretches for a person who cannot bend the knee enough to sit on feet/do cow leg stretch?
Thanks so much ! is perfect explanation….my body love it
thanks for the video! How long to hold the position and for how many repetitions? I am very stiff especially the hamstrings, hips and shoulders, I will try these exercises

Good old yoga poses!
That Eagle Stretch! Oh my!!!
yoga healed my backpain, i hated it before but know i dont want to life without it.!!!!im an office warrior
Ty for those awesome stretches. For the 2nd stretch, do you have any advice for someone who reallly struggles with getting their arms into eagle arms?
Right? I can't do this either. Lol
@livinleggings I love to learn about all things musculoskeletal & you taught me in this video with ease & full clarity, fantastic content - thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏- I will now proceed to binge watch the rest of your videos lol 🥳🥳🥳
