And the rest of the squad; Gill, Kohli, Iyer, SKY, KL Rahul, Siraj, Bumrah, Ashwin, Kishan, Jadeja, Pandya look to have good fitness too. So you’re talking shit really.

    1. Claim the trophy when you earn the trophy.
    2. Best team is decided after the final and learn to recognize the best team. Here is a hint: they always lift the trophy, Always.
    3. Finals are high stake events, where winner take it all. Zampa, not Kohli, should have been the player of the series. Be happy that India got a few crumbs.
    4. You can drain your energy in debating all you want, or learn to be like Cummins to shut people up with performance.

It wasn't close, tbh - you're blaming the pitch when Australia came to play cricket and India came to collect their trophy.
Like, I look back at the wickets Aus lost and it's hard to say any of them were well earned. Two trash balls that should've been boundaries, one not lbw, and one shanked slog with 2 runs to get. That was a comprehensive hammering. India were never really in it - to say India would've been a shout if only the pitch had played a little bit more to Australia's strengths is maximum cope.
India showed nothing, nobody picked that call at the toss. They got fucked up fair and square - tactics, execution, mental strength ... Hit that runout, different story, maybe - but that's high stakes sport. You gotta make it. Australia does it again, India fails again.
That's the Australia us NZers know and love/hate. You don't get to whine about conditions when Australia could've put hundy on you if they hadn't already won. That was bustass.

Just imagine knowing that over a hundred thousand people are supporting the team you’re playing against and yet exhibiting tactical brilliance every step of the way. Gosh, that’s beyond incredible! A very well deserved win for the Aussies!
I understand a lot of us feel ‘cheated’ because we thought we ‘deserved’ the win. But that’s the entitlement we need to get rid of. From the semi final onwards, we cannot afford to carry the baggage of success we had till the semis.

@dragonballfanscantread2383Who created/curated these conditions? The BCCI as per the demands of the indian team & they fell head first in their own trap. Losing multiple semifinals and finals since 2014 we are officially the Chokers of the decade and have replaced SA. Thats the fact.

    • @haychkay3590

@dragonballfanscantread2383”wrong side of conditions”? Give over mate! They did choke. The pitch was set up for them. Apparently Rohit said he wanted to bat anyway, they got off to a flier, 80-1 after 10 overs is as good a start as any they’ve had this WC, so yes they did choke. Because the game that mattered they went into a shell, they stopped attacking. They hit 4 boundaries in like 30overs or so, and 2 of them were in the last few overs by Shami and Siraj. They sent in Jadeja before SKY which again showed a defensive mindset. With the ball the opened with Shami (even though he bowled well), yet Siraj opening the bowling has worked for them all tournament. Lets be honest they choked and it happens a lot with India in the games that matter, its similar to the 2022 T20 WC Semi final where England hammered them by 10wickets. India seem to always choke when it comes to the games that matter.

The quote "he who digs a pit for others falls in himself" aptly captures the actions of the Indian team management.
Congratulations to the Australian team and the entire nation, provided they are aware of or appreciate the significance of their team clinching the World Cup for the 6th time. In my recent view, I questioned how a country that seems ignorant to white ball cricket could achieve such an outstanding World Cup record.
However, my perspective has shifted, and I now acknowledge the remarkable achievement by Pat Cummins and the team. After a disheartening 2-3 loss to South Africa despite being 2-0 up in the ODI series, a 2-1 defeat to India just before the World Cup, and initial losses in the first two World Cup matches, they bounced back by winning 9 consecutive games despite of lack of home interest in the game. The final, played against a inform opponent with over 130 thousand spectators in the stadium and on a pitch tailored to exploit their weaknesses, is truly commendable. I salute the resilience and courage of this Australian team, epitomizing the superior sports culture that extends beyond skills to mental toughness. The spirit of the Australian team is something that India and the rest of the world should admire.
I don't attribute India's loss to the conditions; it was a defeat in the mind before the first ball was bowled. The Australian must be chuffed in observing the wicket, realizing the apprehension of the Indian team management towards them. Despite India's dominating performance against all teams, the management, instead of focusing on their strengths, stooped low and doctored the pitch to ensure an Australian loss.
Thank you boys, you are the mirror that Indian fans and Indian cricket administrators need to look more often. In me, you have a subscriber for life. Cheers!

Right from Day 1 I was wholly impressed by India and its ability to adapt to all kinds of situations, with different players stepping up when required. But the way in which everything unfurled today makes this defeat even worse than 2003. In that World Cup, we always knew we were second best, but this time around we dominated the tournament. Congratulations Pezza and Higgo, and all other Australian fans as your side were clearly the better on the day.

Congrats Australia, from yet another Indian supporter. This is not meant to diminish the Aussie performance in any way, we were thoroughly outplayed in every department and deservedly thrashed, BUT: I do think India (not just the players, the whole system and maybe the whole country) choked a teensy bit. Kohli and Rahul accumulated runs so slowly and with such little intent. Siraj was selected but not given the new ball. Both of these things were absolutely antithetical to what Rohit Sharma has been preaching all tournament: back yourself, be brave, trust the blueprint. It all went out the window under the immense pressure that the Australians were able to apply. Not to mention the pitch curation before the match even began, which too was in the same category. And the crowd sitting in stony silence rather than blowing the roof off supporting their team.

I'm a Kiwi but I'm glad you Aussies won it. Your lads had clearly done their homework and came prepared to win whereas India got maybe a little complacent and just figured they'd win easy. Plus I'm experiencing some delicious schadenfreude at the expense of the BCCI for slightly dodgy pitch shennanigans, the cricket media (espncricinfo etc) for sucking off a different Indian player every single fucking day, Indian commentators for sucking off the Indian team on masse even when they weren't playing, the home crowd for being so salty they can't even properly applaud a match winning ton from Head (who surely, after this and the WTC final, must be public enemy #1 in India right now) and PM Modhi for the gigantic hubris of staging the final in a ground with his name on it instead of one of India's proper hallowed cricket grounds.
I do feel bad for Kolhi & co though - this is a great team and time is running out for them to get some silverware. Maybe Champions Trophy? Although, I hope not cos I want our aging would be champions to grab that :P

Next world cup will be SA and NZ..... At the rate Cricket South Africa is killing cricket and cricketers careers in SA, don't be surprised if more Saffers cricketers pitch up in NZ.

As an Indian my second best team was new Zealand. But after reading this I am happy that new Zealand haven't won a single world cup in history. You guys don't win in 2024 t20 or 2027 ODI World Cup. I am sure of that. Because NZ and SA are better chokers than India 😂

The pitch curator dug a grave for the Aussies but the Indians fell in it. Travis Head with that amazing catch of Rohit was more crucial than his blazing 100.

Rough game to sit through as an Indian fan! Australia really outmaneuvered India in every way.
Especially after Maxwells golden innings in the last game, it seems like a final win was well deserved. Congrats boys

Yup, we bottled it in the final.
But, Australia are deserved champions. You planned and prepared for this better. You wanted this more. You held your nerve. Congratulations!
India's performances in finals has always been very notorious for a long time. We play with our instincts rather than with careful planning and execution. India were outsmarted and outplayed in all four departments - batting, bowling, fielding and captaincy. Anyway, the dissection of what went wrong for India is for another day.
    Congrats again!

Too heartbroken to follow cricket anymore!
Wish you guys congratulations and best wishes for the future with the channel. Hope you understand! With this much resources in your team and the level of infrastructure, if one can not perform at the actual requirement, and lose not once twice but on numerous occasions, then bound to go away. I'm done with cricket. Congratulations Australia. We are niw the England's football team of Cricket now.

Australia have a winning mentality and a competitive spirit, which makes them perform well under pressure and in big matches. They have a reputation of being ruthless and aggressive, and they never give up until the end. They have also been involved in some of the most memorable matches and rivalries in cricket history, such as the 1999 semi-final against South Africa, the 2003 final against India, and the 2015 semi-final against India.

I was supporting Australia but honestly i thought India was almost unbeatable. I have never seen such dominance at an ICC tournament but India didn't bring their A Game to the final. You guys had a fantastic tournament so that must ne difficult to not win the trophy.
