    As an Indian i always wanted this. If India wins this WC, i want us to defeat Aus. Only that is gonna satisfy me because obviously defeating Aus in Final is ultimate victory if it happens😅
    Ps: contrary to what most of you think, i was dancing with my sister when patty got the cup and was alone with it for half a minute. We could see him holding back his emotions and there was mix feelings in the house. My dad slept off early and me and my sister are still partying at home. Pat should have been the MOT. He ll go down with the likes of steve waugh and Imran khan. Loved the game. Felt bad for Rohit and India but very very happy for Marnus Patty and Head omg🔥. Aus are Champions ❤

    As a Proteas supporter, I truly concede that Australia turned up in yesterday's semi-final. Ashamed to say that the ghosts of the past haven't been properly dealt with. Captaincy is also under question, as they say, the fine margins determine the match. Safe to say the first ten overs of each innings sealed the result of the match. Well done, Australia. As a cricket lover since 90s, I can tell you - you are right, this world cup final is more imp to us as a nation and power equations riding on it but 2011 was much more important for true Indian cricket fans becoz of Sachin, 2007 debacle, the precarious team and a maverick captain. People were more emotionally invested since the beginning in 2011 in contrast to 2023 where people got involved becoz of the dominance Indian team showed.

    • @Asskicker14
      @Asskicker14 9 місяців тому +1

      True. I don't even feel any excitement till I open these videos about WC. 2011 was something else for me. 28 years later after the heartbreaks of 2003 and 2007 still lingering deep, we were hungry for a moment of a lifetime. Since then IPL has been played for 12 more seasons and too many T20s and more exposure to the realities of life which are more important, 2023 is like another tournament. We saw the rise of Indian cricket and now moving towards a slow decline.

    @chinmayaprakash 9 місяців тому +29

    The similarities between the semi-final loss for South Africa and the semi-final loss for India in the 2019 World Cup are uncanny. Moisture on the pitch and overcast conditions meant that the losing side will be facing some amount of swing which they are generally unfamiliar with. Relying on an opener who has scored more centuries in the tournament than anyone else to give them a good start, the top order collapsed when he was dismissed quickly. Within the first 12 overs, the top four batsmen were back in the dressing room. Middle order tried to repair the damage and were partly successful. But the winning side kept pressing for wickets in the middle overs and got wickets at crucial junctures, never allowing the losing side to break free. The most striking batting effort in the losing side was played by a lower middle-order left-handed batter who almost played a match-winning knock. The innings quickly wrapped up when he was dismissed trying to play a big shot in the final phase.

Winning the semi against pak felt like winning the cup itself. And then, when we actually won it, there was a palpable electricity in the whole country. Streets were jampacked again. Oh my god. The feeling was surreal.
    This time, people did burst firecrackers to be sure, especially with diwali being so close to the semi, but when I went out to see the atmosphere, it was nothing like 2011. Ig the memory of it is still very freshly etched in everyone's minds. Winning a cup after 28 years is not anywhere near the same as winning it after slightly more than a decade.
    Dhoni and team brought back a lost confidence in many ways. Rohit and team will maintain it, perhaps even elevate it to a level of indomitability, or hubris, based on how you see it.

    I am not sure why you forgot to mention that the Aussies have lost 2 home test series to India and one of those to an Indian C team...Australia should prepare itself to be destroyed in the finals! This India is going to take this CUP like a walk in the park.

      Never undermine Australia. They are the best cricketing nation in the world for a reason. Form and past history goes out of the window in a final like this and Australia will always be up for a final even if their form isn't as good. That's why they are the best.

    What a riveting test match yesterday. We had "you just dropped the world cup" moment about 4 times. As if SA were keen to hear it from every Aussie. Lastly, congratulations Australia on winning your 6th world cup

    The main issues with this current australian squad is most of the players in this squad have already won an odi wc, a t20 wc, a wtc. they have won everything already and they don't have that hunger anymore

      Australians players are not complaining about the pitch. Cummins even said he enjoyed the pitches. If you're using our national media to judge us, then that is simply unfair. 60% of our media owned by a dick head and is biased. Most Aussies don't subscribe to national media as they know its all bs
