- My first takes on the new for 2023 KTM 790 Adventure. Aiming to make this a series plotting what its like to own over time, so please subscribe.
Unfortunately lost my audio on this ride, so its a voiceover this time, but these are my first impressions of the new 790 and what I've enjoyed or found noteworthy about the bike thus far.
At the 1000 km service she gets a sprocket with 15 teeth. I'll try the "R" windshield too. Another rearview mirror and you're done. I removed the ugly handles. After the demo mode I really only need the quickshifter. I agree with you on the chassis. I think it's very balanced and I'm glad I don't have to adjust anything anymore.
What about power and torque? Can you feel the power?
Yep, I like how "out of the box" it is...I was almost spending more as a total on the 390, by the time you've added in crash protection, different exhaust, changing ergos with different footpegs etc
@@antnevent3158 you feel 95 hp and 88 Nm in one of the most compact and economical engines in its class. I've also ridden the 890, the difference is small. the 790 somehow feels sportier. the 890 a little more sovereign. Is a matter of taste. absolutely perfect for this type of motorcycle (which can do almost anything). The performance is sufficient for me. more power doesn't necessarily make you faster on a public road.
@@soistesundsobleibts5369i was comparing my ex Ducati monster 821, it had 90nm of torque to get the idea of the power curve... I bought this Ktm never seeing it or trying... So if it the similar torque am ok ..just not mych less 😅

They're the Touratech adventure folding mirrors...really rate them.
This or v strom 800 DE? Have you tested the v strom 800 DE?
I haven't! It does look very cool though. I was trading a 390 so it made sense for me to stay with the same dealer setup. Also, although it might all be a bit relative, the 800 felt a little out of budget for me, on finance at least.
There's a good head to Italian review on Red live channel (auto subs for the win).
to put an educated bet on what I would differentiate between the two... On the KTM its the electronics (their offroad traction etc is very cool and useful, at least for me), and a more 50/50 off-road design (I'd say the 800 is more 60/40, because of the weight and higher centre of gravity). For the 800 its of course the reliability, and potentially longer term value, if you worry about that kind of thing (but as a first buyer, depreciation is always very high, almost no matter what you buy, outside of things that are collectible). Very close match between the two though, so again for me it came down to affordability in the end mostly. I also don't fear the KTM reputation, they make great bikes.

Oye amigo, definitivamente lo disfruté hasta ahora... Diría que por el precio es correcto, entre este y el transalp, suzuki y tenere podrías estar diferenciando entre el estilo y cómo te hace sentir la moto... así que tal vez pruebes montar unos cuantos en la clase y ver. ¡No me arrepiento de la compra hasta ahora al menos!
I just purchased one and I have to say I'm really pleased with it so far. I've covered over two hundred miles and with some off roading, its so easy to ride. I used to have a t7, I much prefer this.

It's not lazy at all, it has more torque than the T7 for sure. A friend has the 890 there is not a lot of difference between the two in my opinion.
