I wish I lived with Ree Drummond and her family. I just love the way she cooks! She doesn’t give a big flying flip about cholesterol or clogged arteries… She cooks to please!

I made the sour cream noodle bake tonight. It was AMAZING . Seconds and thirds from the table. Although I have a confession Gentle Reader... my entire household can't stand even the idea of cottage cheese and I did it anyway. I am a heathen, but it was sweet vindication watching them gobble it all up. PS!! I was a makeup artist for many shows on the Food Network so I speak from first hand experience, you and/or your team do a great job!

You can always substitute Ricotta for the cottage cheese, that’s what I use because I don’t care for cottage cheese either 🥰

I make this breakfast casserole every Christmas. The red and green peppers make it look festive and the potatoes on the bottom are the 💣!

The only part that confused me in that chicken tortilla casserole recipe is that “red” sauce she added (from a blender) right on top of the chicken bean mixture. I finally caught her saying it’s a homemade enchilada sauce but it didn’t show her make it.

Depends on opinion. Bought one of this woman's non stick skillets and it warped so bad on the first cook. Was on low heat...now the most hated pan in our house that my hubby who cannot cook well is restricted to using lol

Great homemade flavor anyone can put together. I love a casserole and often make one to have on hand for fast easy meals during the week. Just cut out a piece and microwave or reheat in the oven.
Can't wait to eat in her restaurant when I go visit my sister in Pawhuska. I haven't been back to Pawhuska since June 7th, when our dad passed away at the hospital there, in which my sister works. My sister said she is down to earth, extremely nice and such a sweetheart. I'm so happy for her and her family. God Bless them.
I love watching Ree cook every morning on Food Network on tv. She always surprises me with her dishes!

@@starson1 The salt she adds makes me cringe. My husband loves this type of food; hwr, he’s a heart patient (emergency quad bypass 11yrs ago) & a juvenile diabetic. I’ve had to cut his salt & fat intake considerably.

I'll bet you if you get him slim and trim the diabetes will go away. I've noticed that with my friend, she lost a bunch of weight and she got off insulin.

I have made sour cream noodle bake probably 3 dozen times. I love it, but I like spicy, so I add some spice and use all the tomato sauce even though I just make one helping. It is SO good!

My mother passed away 10 months before my first baby was born. My dear sister was there to help - and made a bunch of the first casserole - we called it "Sour Cream Casserole" - we loved it, and it was easy to pull out of the freezer on a "fussy baby" day!

As an Okinawan Italian woman who has no casserole recipes this is all foreign to me. But I’m realizing how similar these recipes really are to so many family recipes I have that are just not mixed together into a casserole

I didn’t realize Pioneer woman was a real person. My wife just gives me recipes to make from online. We made the homemade hamburger helper last week. Got Dam! It’s delicious!

I've made the sour cream noodle bake two times and my roomie LOVES it. Today I'm going to do the tater tot recipe but I'm a little bit of a change up artist when I have or don't have certain ingredients ... that's what a casserole is all about! Been a fan of Red since day 1!

been sharing easy recipes with a young lady that comes into help me around the house, she cant boil water so i' ve been talking to her about simple recipes that she can cook and now she's got the cooking bug, trying to make it as simple for her as possible so a lot of instant stuff like gravy and stuff but I think she could handle a few of these so I think I'll write a few out for her, cant wait to find out how many she made.
This is so kind. Thank you for teaching her. It can be really intimidating to start cooking for those of us who didn't learn as kids.
You should start her off with the tater tot casserole. Just about everyone likes tatertot casserole even if they don't like casserole.

Once I had tried some simple hamburger casserole, I found my courage…and spent many years feeding lots of family and friends. It has been a lot of fun…and your hope can do it…Ree is the perfect teacher!

I've had that one a couple of times. It's actually really yummy. It's important to add a good amount of black pepper and green onion or it can be just a bit bland. The second time I made it I used some garlic/onion powder and cayenne and it really made it pop.
@@MdnightWnd yeah I didn’t pay a lot of attention to her meat mixture. I was more consumed with the addition of cottage cheese and sour cream to the noodles part.
But yeah, a super, savory meat mixture (with plenty of green onion/spices) with those noodles and cheese layers sound just yummy

I can’t eat just any cottage cheese. For many years it was always Umpqua brand, 4 percent small curd.
I think Umpqua is a local dairy outfit in my area.
However, I recently tried “Nancy’s” organic brand (at the health food store) They have a 4 percent and holy cow.
It’s so incredibly creamy and wonderful. It costs about 3 times more than the cheaper stuff in the stores but worth every penny lol
Commend Re for cooking all of that food because that's a lot of work.

my grandma used cottage cheese for lasagna and this reminds me of that!
I also use cottage cheese, it gives Lasagna a nice creamy cheesey taste and texture without the overwhelming nasty taste of ricotta.
I like adding cottage cheese to my pasta dishes, I will definitely try the first recipe.
So good. You won't taste the difference like using ricotta cheese

Ree, Love your casseroles but do they all freeze well? It's just me so it's nice to have comfort food I am able to stick in the oven or microwave. I bake lasagna and then cut it into serving sizes and freeze. It turns out great. Thank You!

Hey...you missed a piece of chicken on the plate! Funny, I would notice that. I do a tater tot casserole for our family Christmas breakfast at my Step Dad's and it's always a big hit! These all look like great hearty recipes for a crowd. I think I'll try that egg noodle one...almost like a lasagna.

We LOVE sour cream and are ho-hum about cottage cheese. I use a LOT of sour cream and almost as much cream cheese, and a small amount of cottage cheese with the green onion. The taste is amazing. We LOVE this casserole.
