Bro, are you a black belt? have you trained, have you taught. I agree that the warmup should be more specific to tech that will be trained, but my guy...to say front /back rolls and shrimping isn't BJJ specific is way off base and will shut people off to the rest of your message.
and word of advice, rely on the strength of your actual argument, not your credentials. Just because someone didn't pay for a piece of paper doesn't mean they don't know what they are talking about. Actual experience is way more valuable than paper knowledge. Your actual argument was good enough.

I appreciate the feedback and checking in on the video!
Yes, I am a black belt, and I do teach from time to time now.
I agree to some extent that a degree or paper does not equal actual experience or understanding of the practical application of the sport!
I do think shrimps and back rolls do have a place at times but I often feel that they should come at a later part of the warm-up. I see too many people start with them. Personally, I think some of those movements are some of the most overrated parts of the warm-ups.
The biggest issue I wanted to promote was non-specific warm-ups but at the same time, we do have to get to technique, and rolling so there is a balance.
I understand people will have their own opinions, and I am just voicing mine given the experience I have had in training over the last 14 years + 5 yrs of wrestling.
Part of the experience I have also had was warm-ups in cold upstate NY winter weather, as well as hot South Florida where it's always warm so it's super easy to get ready!
