    The standard of this is amazing. GW should be paying you to promote their contrast paints I haven't seen anyone better using them

    Fantastic job! Thanks for the guide, it's incredibly helpful. Also the "beach ball" is one of his artefacts, "The Seeing Stone of Celennar", A priceless gift from Celennar to Teclis, this allows the bearer to see the flow of magic itself - and alter it to his whim.

    Thank you for taking the time to explain & show us just how to apply the paints, my eyes are not as good as they were, as is my painting skills, but you have given me new hope that I can improve my painting. I have the starter set of that set so I am going to give it a go.

    In my limited experience, Corax White spray is incredibly fickle. When painting my Tau, I now always do what you did with your Shadowsun video - Ulthuan Grey glaze over Apothecary White over Grey Seer primer. I'm going to give a Corax White base coat over Grey Seer primer a bash though!

    • @Warhipster

      It took me so long to take the plunge and buy Corax White. For years I've hated Ceramite White and White Scar just because it's like a 1/10 chance you get a decent pot of the stuff. Corax White though seems to be brilliant!

    Fantastic work. You're like the Teclis of Contrast paints, just with less of the trying to wipe out the Idoneth Deepkin...

    Great job on Teclis and Celennar they are beautifull !
    How do you do your 8:1 ; 10:1 etc mixing. I planned to replicate your job but I don’t know when I have a good color.
    Did you put the tip of the brush 10 time in the medium and on your palet and 1 time in the contrast or is it another painter shenanigan ?

    • @Warhipster
      @Warhipster  3 роки тому +2

      Yeah it's exactly that 10 brush loads of medium and then 1 brush load of the contrast. That's exactly how I mix. I basically keep mixing until it feels right in terms of the hue on the palette. It's basically trial and error.

      I worry about doing that too with every big boi I end up painting! I take a Deep Breath and buy a lot of Methylated Spirits to strip him just in case I'm really REALLY unhappy with it.

    I kinda wish teclis was a seperate model as I really like teclis but I’ve never liked the general design of celennar

    • @Warhipster
      @Warhipster  2 роки тому

      That could be cool! I've seen some smart conversions that have Teclis separate to Celennar and then changed up Celennar so there's definitely legs on changing it up.

    • @oliverwithers9736
      @oliverwithers9736 2 роки тому

      @@Warhipster oh, neat. Looking back I think Celennar looks alright but I think the models would look better separately as I don’t think it really does Teclis justice being kind of an edition to Celennar. He should get a model wreathed in arcane fire or something.

    Your tutorials have really helped me with my lumineth, thank you very much for what you are doing. I dont own the grey seer primer, if I prime it with corax white, should I still do everything the same as in the video?

    • @Warhipster
      @Warhipster  3 роки тому +1

      Great to hear! yeah you can absolutely do everything the same in the video. Some of the details will be a little brighter but it was my original intention to do Teclis with Corax White if it wasn't for my can of Spray Primer making him all furry and gnarled.

    How do you get such a smooth corax white paint pot? Mine is literally like blue tac. I've tried glass mixing balls and shaking it loads, and tried adding medium

      I have no idea. I think I just lucked out when I bought it. I've ordered another one as this one was running very low. Fingers crossed eh?

    Do you seal the models once completed?

    • @Warhipster
      @Warhipster  3 роки тому

      I don’t but I know some people do like to give them a coat of varnish with either a matte or a satin, depending on the finish you’re after.

  • @edgar882

    Could you do a video on stripping models? I've used meths before and its destroyed the model? I use Isopropanial alcohol (spelling I know) and it works a treat for me

      @@czarniutka852 can Biostrip get primer off? I know it's great for taking off other paints - I've a load of stuff to strip myself.
