It's been great reading the comments to this. Confession: I'm guilty of coming up with the idea of this cover while sitting in a pub with Terry around 25 years ago and subsequently produced the track with him. It was recorded in Church Studios in North London on a wet Sunday afternoon, with the video filmed the same day in the same location. The Eurythmics' Dave Stewart, who'd worked with Terry previously and who'd happened to drop by (he owned the recording studio) on the day of the recording, provided the guitar track.
Wow! What a super-group! I remember seeing this as part of a Euro-Trash Euro-Vision Special; that also featured Shane McGowan singing, "What's Another Year". Lovely work.
I just love this! How did I never know about this collaboration till now?? It’s seems like an incongruous song for both of them and yet it works so beautifully well 🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️
I saw this clip on Eurotrash in 1997, in their pre-Eurovision special 'A Song For Eurotrash' - it has on-and-off been stuck in my head for 25 years. This video was the first place I came when I saw that Terry had died, and here I am again mourning Sinead. It's crazy and sad that they died so close together and so young. A big loss to Irish music that we're feeling here in England too. Sending love. 🇬🇧 ❤ 🇮🇪.
Love the way Sinead flutters her eyelids and puts on that lovely smile in the background - so unlike her usual unsmiling persona. Shows she has a sense of humour. Had I not seen this with my own eyes I would have refused to believe that the two of them got together to sing this rather schmaltzy song. So unlike anything you would expect from this combination. Love it.
This song pulls at the heart strings more then I could ever imagine. Nothing prepared me for the tears that followed after hearing, watching and feeling this song numerous times. Thank you Sinead and Terry for all that you left us in your travels. You will never know how much this song means to me.
So sad to hear that Sinead passed away today. Devastating and overwhelmed that such a beautiful person has left us. I hope she finds peace now, reunited with her beloved son Rest in peace Sinead xxx
So sorry that it's taken a tragedy for this absolute gem of a duet to surface. I've never heard their version here before but what a legacy to have left us. Fly high Sinead and Terry
Admit that this is the first time I've heard this. Sad, so sad that Terry has left us too soon. Hoping that Sinead is okay, and is getting the love and support that she needs. 🙏😞
This is such a find. I was never a huge Sinead O’Connor fan but since her untimely death I find myself searching out her voice. I love this, and her version of Sacrifice. She was just so diverse, could sing the phone book probably and make it her own. Terry Hall on the other hand, oh my. Our Lips Are Sealed being one of my all time favourite tracks. Our loss is heavens gain I guess.
I love her smirks, and his melancholy sighs. It's as if they found someone more somber than Sinead and then they gave them both a chipper winter tune to sing. LOVE IT! Every bit of it.
New Sinead O'Connor memories I've never heard of this song of course so it's new. This is absolutely beautiful. Just read other comments in both of these beautiful people are passed away already rest in peace to the both of you thank you for this memory on video.
Two people who used music to say something, and they fucking meant it. As authentic as they come. Together a massive loss, but an example for all of us.
This guy could sing any thing ,,,, i have adored him since his beginning ,,,He was much too young to pass xx Thank you Terry you have given us great music , your voice was second to none ,,You were so Special xx
We loved the specials RIP Terry Hall. great cover of that Brilliant song by the Beautiful Dana from the winning song she sang in the Netherlands in 1970 to give Ireland it's first Eurovision win.
Bless you both - Sinead Marie you are and still are a great spirit - don’t regret - shine like the star you are - Terry you are an Angel - keep on doing it - I am so sad yet so happy for you both xxx
Someone posted this on the Chelsea chat site and It was the 1st time I listened to it and must say I love it , I very special person was sinead o'connor you forget just how beautiful she was along with her talent. R.I.P

First time I've heard this song. It made me think of my daughter....and us singing this song to each other. Really made my heart feel good and a very very proud father.
Totally agree, every now and then I find a real gem on here, and this is definitely one of those. Always been a fan of Terry, loved Sineads first album, but never knew they'd done this duet - and a video with real nice touches in it.
I absolutely love this and haven’t listened to it for some time up until today when we had the tragic news of Terry’s passing. It’s such a fitting song and lovely to see Sinead smiling and playing up to the camera. RIP Terry you were a one off
Such a beautiful duet ! The harmonies ❤ Ihave loved both Sinead and Terry ffir a long time .But this duet is stunning ! I first heard it when Terry died but its sio poignant now .
Just beautiful , and that gorgeous smile half way through , its so heart-breaking , to think there are both gone now - hopefully somewhere in a different sphere making more music together
What a beautiful track. So very sad about hearing of Terry' passing. I grew up listening to him and had the absolute pleasure of seeing The Specials at the Scarborough spa in 2019. RIP XXX
I saw this on euro trash in 1997 - i had the original 45 record - from Dana who won the Eurovision back in 1970. My mother always sang this song to us when we were kids. Terry Hall and now Sinead - she had many classics, another one i loved was her singing - The Parting Glass. May there souls Rest in Peace - but most of all - Thank you
Sorry that I never saw Sinead O'Connor nor The Specials or Fun Boy Three. Damn! Rest in peace, Sir Terry. You've got alot of wonderful company in the great beyond. 🥰😇🙏
Had no idea that these two unique voices covered that Dana song! Really is beautiful!!. Dreadful news about Terry Hall, that cruel disease cancer doesn't discriminate...

Well then Thank you I suppose.
I still love it now.
I just love this! How did I never know about this collaboration till now?? It’s seems like an incongruous song for both of them and yet it works so beautifully well 🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️

never sang their hearth, out? let them sing.

God bless them !☘️☘️
Beauts both ❤
Terry Hall sound man and Sinead what can you say ? ☘️☘️☘️
I love Sinead's almost schoolgirl smile when Terry starts to sing his verse...it's so natural
She seemed shocked at how good his voice was.
It's his iconic voice, she remembers his voice with the Specials and to hear it first hand well we would all have that smile
Beutiful ❤
He moves his eyes, eyebrows and other facial features to the lyrical and musical timing. Extraordinary.
perv
Can’t believe we’ve lost both of these beautiful people within 7 months of each other Rip Sinead and Terry 💔💔😢😢.
Saaaad!
❤
Two very talented musicians. RIP ❤
If you speak out.. Its funny keith richards bob dylan last forever
RIP Terry Hall, one of a kind.
Terry was plaintive, sometimes mournful. Always sincere.
God bless him.
And senead also
Sinead is obviously tickled by Terry singing this song, out of his comfort zone. I flipping well love this.
funny I didn't know who Terry even was and I just thought he was some sorry sap lol
I caught that reaction from Sinead too. Lovely. RIP both of them. Lovely caring people
Like two little vulnerable children .. fragile souls but so beautiful. Gentle human beings in a cruel world x don’t ever change
She was so innocently and painfully stunning! It's so sad the emotional abuse her mother caused her. She destroyed her own daughter 😢
Every now and then in your life you come across perfection.
This is one of those moments.
RIP to you both.
Sinead's smile when Terry first sings is so beautiful
Beautiful voice, beautiful face. RIP Sinead ❤

All kinds of songs reminds us of them, Sinead and Terry gone but loved forever. Longer hair makes a girl more happy.
Sinead looks so beautiful and lovely when she's smiling.
@Kater Lee
You mean before she went batshit crazy? Is she still alive?
@Kater Lee She even looks waaay better with hair. Why she shaved it, I will never know.
She got fed up with people asking if she was Enya.Which is why she shaved it they don't even look like each other. The mind boggles
"Cheer Up, Sinbad!"
Yeh man !
Too sad. I've not heard this song before today. So beautiful. So sad.
The whole of Ireland is in mourning.....Rest easy Sinead and you too Terry ....Both gone too soon.....
