Terry was a musical mainstay in my life from age 11 until his untimely passing 44 years later. God bless Terry you gave me so much hope and happiness 🙏🏻❤
Perhaps the greatest ever performance by an artist on Later...👍💪🙏 Terry was such a professional, this is just so tight, so well rehearsed & remains both unsurpassed & staggeringly good...
I was looking at what he had done the other day, it's a phenomenal amount of work, he must have been one of the hardest working people in the music business!
I'm a big fan of The Lightning Seeds, and over the past two or three years have become a big fan of Terry Hall. But I've never been one to gain any knowledge of bands that I like, I just listen to the music and know virtually nothing about the members. However, I do notice the keyboard player and drummer from The Lightning Seeds are part of the band for Terry Hall here. I understand the collaboration between Terry Hall and Ian Broudie with this song, and the crossover aspects such as Hall providing vocals for the Lightning Seeds version, but I'm still a little surprised to see that The Lightning Seeds were very much contributing to Terry Hall's release of the song. I've never made up my mind on which version I like best. I think I just need to settle on the fact that both are fantastic, and it doesn't matter to try and put them into battle with one another. Rest in peace, Terry Hall.
Such a beautiful and well balanced comment. I believe so too. Ian Broudie working with Terry Hall was a marriage made in heaven. And of course not forgetting to mention all the great musicians that were involved in their projects together. They left diamonds behind. Some of us, quite a few actually, appreciate them and hold them very close to our hearts and their magic spoke to our individual personalities in a very mouth-to-ear manner.
Voice of a legend

I’m in 2024. Remember watching this. I used to video all JH episodes. Love this performance
Home is a great album.
Fantastic. So many great songs. For me it redefined the term "expensive pop" in the '90s.
Fantastic guy and a unique talent
2 years ago today you left us 😢
Thank you so much for reminding me my friend. It''s true.. Time flies. He will never be forgotten. We'll do our best..
Fantastic song. Came here via The Lightning seeds version... and just spotted Les Patterson from Echo and The Bunnymen on bass. Awesome.
Future generations will look back on his body of work and struggle to understand why he wasn't a much bigger star.
So very true!

@@doctordetroit1217 He had roughly a 40 year career from The Specials onwards but it always felt as though he was there.
Don't think he enjoyed being a star
He wasn’t into stardom . It’s the antipathy of him.
He was an ordinary man with an extraordinary voice.who sang truth about life and social issues.
Always brings a smile to my face.
When you sing it all makes sense 👌
Geniale Nummer!
A blinder by TH.... Big thanks for posting this song.
Interesting to see Rick Astley, in a lovely black jumper, giving his support on the guitar.
Brilliant brilliant brilliant !!!🙏🏻
Absolutely love this man ❤
The redheaded keyboardist… holy smokes!!!
Angie Pollock. Yes... A real beauty.
R.I.P. lieber Terry…. ❤️

Broudie vocals are shite compared to halls
Mr. Les Pattinson on bass!
A doppelganger for Rick Astley after one too many dumplings...
…that Chris Sharrack on drums…??…
Absolutely. One of the best session drummers in England.
who is the very cute keyboard player?.
Angie Pollock. Also a member of the Lightning Seeds. She was a total newcomer back then. Terry said in an interview "We abducted her from college".
Te extrañamos.
