LOL! I remember when I saw this ad. Who would've thought that a small car could tow a big heavy boat? Apparently you don't need a land yacht to tow an aqua yacht.
I think they're supposed to be Americans in awe of the Australian car. The music at the beginning is an American war time song from the civil war so it's fairly patriotic. Followed by the Holden with the song switching to Waltzing Matilda an Australian patriotic song. The superiority of an Australian car over American cars is the sub text. it's actually a pretty clever ad.
@@johno9507possibly made of polystyrene foam🤣🤣🤣 I'm pretty sure a VL Commodore even with a 5.0 litre V8 could never tow a boat of that size but then again I reckon even a 351 GT FALCON would struggle with a boat this size. At a time too when the Nissan RB30 motor performed better than the V8. The baseline V8 was actually pretty low performance with under 200 horses and not much torque.
The Nissan powered Turbo had already gone past earlier!!!
Tooo bad they couldn’t nut out a reasonable motor without being bailed out by other companies.

And now we don't even have Holden..
They will be saying "the great aussie V8 is back, better than ever" in 30 years when Holden bring production back (highly unlikely though.
i wish
TooManyHobbies i very much wish now
Never happen
@@justaname1862 yeah I said that 7 years ago. Electric cars were still in their baby stages in 2015.
Holden will be back, even if it is without local production or a V8. But someday, theyll be back. How else is GM going to sell most of their range?
A right-handed drive Lincoln Continental? I didn't know American cars are popular in down under.
They weren't, I don't even think they we sold here. I never see them for sale or anything besides imports.

It’s not that small.i have driven modern small cars that are bigger inside and not much larger outside.
Rather have the Lincoln than the Commo!
