Most of the recent 456s are matte finish. I also like it. When I wrote with their gold calligraphy nib (don't remember which one), I found it was very soft & very wet, very enjoyable. Video title is Blackberry, ink in video is Blueberry?
I have an older version with the matte finish. Are the threads also matte on yours? I am not a huge fan of that as it gives me a bit of a "nails on chalkboard" feeling. That said, great pen anyway and not my only 456.

A nice pen. I’m a big fan of Vac fillers and I really like the fact you can get a calligraphy nib for it.

How does the plastic on this compare to the 823? Do they feel of similar quality?
Would it work to use a #6 Kiegelo nib?
