I am the happy owner of the Gravitas VAC in ultem version first of all I had a stub nib, and just purchased a medium nib for this fountain pen. The placement of the newly purchased nib was so easy and fast, that I could not resist testing it out immediately, and yes fantastic so smooth and wet everything I had set before was reality . It just became my all day writer. And when it's completely filled you can write many pages and not worry about running out of ink. Thanks to Emy for the excellent service and fast delivery.
Hey there Patrick - thank you so much for your feedback :D you can for sure say how easy it is to operate it :D Thank you for your consideration Patrick
I do love my Ultimate Vac. It fits Kanwrite 14K nibs, Bluedewpens with polymer feed, currently i got a flexiblenibfactory Pilot #15 to Jowo#6 converter with a Falcon #15 and i am using it on that pen. IT IS A GORGEOUS PEN, much better and more confortable than Pilot 823.
:D that is a really nice combo - I forgot to mention since this is a quite modular design it allows the user to have a pretty good base to experiment with nibs from different brands and incorporate them. :D
I have several Gravitas pens I use daily... now I'll have to invest in several more, Gravitas Pens are really becoming collectors items out there. Great review.
:D although it is not intended as a collectable pen... it for sure becomes more and more as time goes by and these pens just stand the test of time and the test of daily use
I think ultem is nice, mainly because it can handle alcohol. It makes cleaning a breeze. Also, I still can't get over the 823. Pilot gold nibs (at least in my pen) are almost magical. I can't get over how easy it is to write with it.
:D just know that if you use alcohol in it, it needs a complete greasing after in order to go well :D Yes those nibs on the 823 sure does bring something solid to the table :D
I have been eyeing that one for a while. I like that Gravitas offers a high quality vac filler in a clear demonstrator. Not everyone likes amber or black; I'm talking to you - Pilot!
Just received my Gravitas ultem vac filler... Cant be happier. Thanks Emi. The nib is super smooth and is perfectly tuned! Will definitely buy again... Hopefully not too soon though 😅
I got the Gravitas Entry in raw copper when it was still a new model and Gravitas pens had a different looking nip. That pen is pretty good for it's price point. I plan to get more gravitas pens in the future such as the gravitas sentry with red linen micarta. I would like to see that micarta pen specifically in a video sometime because micarta is such an interesting base for a fountain pen body
thank you for the feedback :D those entry pens are at a very friendly cost :D - we have the micarta in stock we might just do a review for it alone since its such an exotic material
Fabulous pens! I don't like yellow, so I'd buy a Polycarbonate, had I the funds. As it is, however, I'm saving for the Dinky when it comes out! I already have a Pocket and a Quark. Everything Ben creates is magnificent.
hmmm I think not, I have all of them, demonstrator, smoke and amber - all seem to have a plastic material, I have not took out the system but from on top it looks plastic and I dont think they just glued the top part to some metal threads since the only thing I cant see are the inside threads
Emy, if you don't mind, can you make a difference between cheap Chinese pens and the pens that you sell on your webiste? Sometimes I am not sure if I'm paying for the brand name only or if there is a difference in materials, design, etc.... Thanks.
hmmm - not sure how to check this because I dont have cheap Chinese pens around me and Im the type of collector that goes by this mentality "its better to have 1 pen of x amount than having 10 pens of the same x amount" Paying the brand is a double edge sword, one must pay the brand if the brand bring something valuable to the table, where its a bit off is where this ratio is messed up, the brand brings the same things or a lesser offer for the same or bigger pricing - this must be carefully calculated and observed overall as a bigger picture for the entire listings of pens from a brand :D
@@pen.venture I've since been told that it's normal for ink to collect in the section, but you only get to see it with demonstrator pens. In any case, it looks untidy and unattractive, so it goes into storage until I can find someone to give it to.
Heyy! Big fan of your videos! I'm about to get an Ultimate Vac. You mentioned the rubber sealing parts on the nib unit. I assume it's fairly easy to find an O-ring, but what about the other one, that fits to the end of the nib unit? Is that a standard kif of part that I can get from somewhere, or is it being manufactured for the pen? Would be nice to get a few spare, so that the pen won't become unusuable just because of a tiny rubber sealing. Thanks!
Hey hey :D - I dont know if its fairly easy to come by them or not, we got some sets of these rubber o rings gaskets and all rubber things provided for warranty purposes, what I know for sure - its not a standard set, it is made by Gravitas for their pens only, maybe in the future we can have them as parts for sale but for now its just on hand in our location if needed.
Dry times are certainly important to me as I am left handed. I don't think I have heard of Krishna inks. Monteverde did well. Do you have a comprehensive list by color on your blog?
I'm really worried about Ben Walsh, the owner of Gravitas Pens. He hasn't said anything in almost two months. Does anybody know if he is ok? I'm worried something might have happened to him or his family.

Sir , are you still in business with Ben? After three months after ordering straight from his webshop no pen , no communication, no nothing... I'm wondering...
I don’t understand the question but if it’s about if you can fit a 823 nib on to a gravitas ultimate vac - it’s a no. The ultimate vac fits the any jowo nib unit but not a pilot nibunit
@@pen.venture hey for those with your wits about you, it doesn't matter, but for me, I lost my idea by the time I unscrew the cap....also, if you draw, you are capping and uncapping the pen with ridiculous frequency. The pilot e95 is probably the best solution, but it's tiny...the parker a 51 the Schaeffer pfm are good friction fits, the pilot prera and its superior knockoff the wing sung 3007 are great sturdy snap caps and I think the magnet cap seems like a promising 'ultimate' solution....Appreciate your reply cheers

Happy birthday! in advance :D and know that it will make up for a fine experience regardless of gold or steel nib

By the way, Ben named it "Ultemate", a play on words.

there is a clear 823 but that is just for the Japan market :D

The connector between the barrel and piston knob on the Pilot Custom 823 is in fact made from metal

Hi!
Is there a clip that fits the gravitas model quark pocket pen up ultem?
there is no clips on any Gravitas pen available
Ordered one 2 months ago….anxiously waiting…..still no order status
its a awesome pen :D you're going to love it
