Have you ever seen Jimmy Carr handle a heckler? Brutal stuff verbally but very clever.Any clever comedian has his/her heckler armory otherwise they face dying on stage. To heckle some of those guys you have to be either incredibly quick and sharp or very very stupid.Great to watch though.

@@glennpowell3444 Connolly just shuts them off and keeps going(which for me, is the right thing to do with hecklers). There's a guy i saw on UA-cam(i think he's Canadian), a Jewish guy. All his videos are about him shutting down hecklers. The videos are all 10, maybe 15 minutes long. So he'll be going through his set - heckle - and off he goes, obsessed with shutting this heckler down for 15 minutes!! He's maybe got a 30 minute set, half of it is 'shutting down' a heckler.
From what i've seen, personally, i think he's one of those idiots who has paid stooges in the audience and the heckle is his act. Worst of it is, the boy thinks he's hilarious and oh so clever for the way in which he shut's these hecklers up. he gives a 5 minute intro at the start of the video to give context to the situation. He's one of the worst comedians i've ever seen.

The worst comedian I ever witnessed was in Blackpool on a caberet evening. He got so desperate for a laugh he insulted a guy over his balding haircut in the audience. The balding haircut chap thought about this insult full of beer and went to the stage after a few minutes and man handled the comedian backwards into the " house bands" drumkit at the back of the stage. The poor comics name was Junior Johnson and will never forget that poor sod for all the wrong reasons.

This routine got me sent out of the room at the age of 15, by my great auntie Bridie .I was sat watching the TV with my 2nd cousin Billy ( who around 17 years older than me ) my auntie Bridie was reading a book sat next to me on the sofa, and I started laughing and making the sofa bounce ,my auntie tutted then I laughed again she said that all my bouncing had made her read the same line twice and if I didn't stop I'd have to go sit with the dogs out back, well, the bit with the kid asking for sweets made me gafaw so hard she just put her book down and said " out" so I had to leave the room .my 2nd cousin then started to laugh even harder at this and she said "you'll be out too if you dunny stop." It always makes me smile when I think of it . Sadly they have both passed away over the past few years both due to cancers ,my 2nd cousin Billy sadly passed earlier this year .they will both be missed but will aways be remembered for the joy they have brought to my life.

Two things I will never forget about Billy Connolly.. 1 was the whole creeping up on a Wildebeest thing and one looks across at the other and goes.. "Betty.."... And the second was the gurgling noises he did after drinking the water on holiday... Genuinely had to turn it off.. I thought I was going to die from laughing... Sometimes you have to go back over old videos, because first time round you're laughing that hard.. You become deaf.. briefly... When there's a gale blowing, the Scottish women are delighted to get their washing pegged up with the famous call "a rare day for the drying ."

It was clothing lottery in my estate in Ireland, wind would whip clothes off the lines, end up in other people's gardens. People were sick of trying to locate owners, so it was an unspoken agreement that you just kept (and wore) what ended up in your garden. Or up on your roof. Or in one instance, hanging from the TV aerial....the biggest bra I have ever seen in my life. My auld lad got a clip around the ear when he said he knew who owned that 😂

@@FLYINGTHOR If I remember correctly, if there was a wind blowing on Shetland the washing wasn't put out to dry. If you put your washing out, you would never see it again.

2:50 ‘hanglide in the main street’ - reminds me of doing that in between the high-rise blocks of Moss Heights in Glasgow, holding open our navy school trenchcoats (remember those in the 1960s?) and taking giant leaps with the wind behind us. First residential multi-storey (10 storeys) development in Europe: three blocks, the central one really wide, and all built on top of a hill. Windows on the narrow sides were regularly blown out 😳

@irbennett same style. My comment still stands. Not sure if you're a buzzkill or just neurodivergent, but let people enjoy things. The point was I like his signature hi-lo shirt. Extra iconic when paired with the black and white striped pants. The man had wardrobe staples, and kept the same looks for quite some time. You're overcorrecting something that never needed correcting to begin with, but in the case you're autistic or something, thanks for the input?

Been to Lewis and Harris while on archology digs, grew up in Shetland, Look.. all of the west coast of Scotland gets battered by high winds and storms , But Shetland gets it worse than all of them, I seem to remember wind speed testing equipment breaking early in a storm just after recording a record breaking gust in Shetland (not considered a record because the equipment broke, and the storm got worse that night), and growing up we as kids would play with the waives and wind that came to our shores in a very dangerous way, it was our play station.
