@@FrunkToTrunk Very cool! I’ve read you don’t even need to switch to winter tires due to the model y’ a traction control.. I’m sure they could only help more, but it’s nice to know you can go on without. I’ve never owned a car where I switched winter tires during the season, I always toughed without issues. Now I don’t have to worry about it :)
Some utility companies offer cash rebates and discounted electricity for EV owners. Might be worth looking into

@@TheShahBoyss $45,490 USD broken down like this: $43,990 for the car + $250 ordering fee + $1,250 delivery fee. Those are all required fees/expenses. It does not include my state sales tax or local registration fees. I will get $11,000 of that total back in the form of a Federal Tax credit and state EV rebate. $34,490 for a 2023 M3 seems like a deal to me.

My wife and I just rented a Model Y and we didn’t even know how to put it in Drive. We had to learn the hard way by playing around with the screen and settings. We have learned a lot so far and we loved it so much we placed an order for a black Model Y long range. Hopefully we’ll get it delivered before march when the $7,500 tax incentives are over.
No you didn't have to, you chose the hard way ;)
Read the manual my guy - it's even on the screen in the car.
Also tesla literally have "how to use your tesla for dummies" videos on their site.
@@mikkelkirketerp4884 thanks but when we rented the car at hertz we wanted to get to the hotel fast and wasn’t much time to read a manual, but at least we figured it out fast while driving to the hotel.

Fellow Pittsburgher here! Picking up my Model Y LR on Thursday at the Wexford location. My biggest concern is around phantom braking. I’m coming from an Ioniq 5 Limited and have never had the issue before. Curious how frequently it happens for you in this area. Thanks! PS Subbed!
You’re going to love it. Don’t believe all the negative phantom braking nonsense. Don’t get me wrong, it happens now and again, but very minimal in my experience. Driven a M3 for 3 years and probably happened about 5 times.

I’m considering MY LR or Ioniq 5 Limited. Any reason you made the switch away from Ioniq?
A few reasons:
1. I already took the tax credit for my I5 and this allows me to take the tax credit again next year.
2. I am concerned that Hyundai is going to drop the price of the I5 in order to stay competitive against Tesla, thus bottoming out my current equity. Sell it while it’s hot.
3. I have more faith in Tesla keeping the MY LR updated from a tech standpoint than I do in Hyundai. I didn’t want my I5 to “feel” old in just a few years as EV tech continues to advance ever faster.
4. The MY LR has a better range and better, more reliable charging infrastructure. I will miss the free charging with the I5.
I do think the I5 rides slightly better, even with the new Comfort Suspension in the MY, but ultimately it just didn’t have enough to keep me. I do love the I5 for bringing a truly competitive alternative EV to market.
@@dsdaws6825 Thank you! This is very helpful. For the money, I think Tesla offers a better package, namely range, infrastructure, and software. For $55K, when Mach-e is $68K, Lyriq is $64K, iD.4 is $57K, EV6 is $60K, and Ioniq 5 is $58K, it is hard to beat.
Is the state rebate only for purchase or is it for a lease tesla too ?
State rebate at least in PA is for BOTH

After downloading the app, open it hourly to refresh and pray that the delivery window updates and tells you that you are able to schedule pickup

Good video. But do a little more research like ... tires. Tires wear depending on many factors. Chief among them how the person drives. If you're ripping it off the line at every green light your tires are going to be done in 10k miles. If you don't drive hard maybe you'll get the full life expectancy of your tires. Which of course is the next part ... what are the tires rate to get? Are they 35k, 45k, 55k, etc tires? Lastly, tires need to be rotated every 8-10k miles so you get even wear. Luckily, many of the Tesla's come with a square setup so you can do full tire rotations which will contribute to the longest longevity of your tires. Best of luck with the channel.

Was the insurance higher on the Tesla compared to the car it replaced?
Well for me that is apples and oranges I had a used Jeep Compass 2016, so I had to bump up my coverage so it would cover the full value of the Tesla. My insurance now is $150
Hey man, how did you end up getting the rock chip fixed under warranty? I went to 3 Tesla service centers and they’re saying it’s not covered for me. Did you say anything differently?
So Cranberry location in PGH said THEY don't fix it however, a shop near me DOES cover it. It's a partner OF pittsburgh, almost an extension of Tesla it sounded like

I ordered my model Y couple of days ago, my delivery day says June-July. How much more do I have to pay on the top of the contract amount? Tax and registration or any other hidden fees?
Per tesla website: Additional charges such as tax, title, registration and other fees are due at signing.

You forgot another very important critical thing and that is insurance. It is insanely insanely expensive and Tesla insurance is only available in few select states so please check insurance part as I have heard companies quoting upto 4000 yearly annual premium
I included this on my recent video. I pay $150/mo. to cover full coverage on my Model 3. Adding, rates are subjective to a driver's accident history etc. So $4,000/yr may be for someone with horrible driving history. I haven't had an accident in probably 10 years and that is my rate for context
@@FrunkToTrunk Insurance premium will vary significantly from state to state. Here in WA state it's one of the highest compared to other states. I pay $150 a month for two vehicles which is gasoline cars
@@FrunkToTrunk I disagree with that since repair costs to fix Tesla cars is one of the most expensive compared to ICE vehicles and that is one of the primary reason insurance companies are charging so high for insuring Tesla

You get the incentive once the car is delivered yes. The EV credit is filed when you do your 2023 taxes. The state rebates are separate forms

No one mentions including you that Tesla does NOT provide a spare tire in any of their vehicles. So, let's say you live in a rural area with limited cell service, you run over a sharp on the road and your tire blows! How do you plan to get home with no spare tire and no emergency vehicle services?
I know plenty of people who don’t care about new cars and start scratching the rims, the paint, and get the inside dirty within 4 weeks. And I know some people who do all that too and already have the car smelling like cigarette already 😂😂😂

@@FrunkToTrunk I’d rather drive a reliable vehicle with a long track history vs a computer on wheels. Way over priced for a vehicle that goes down in value and new technology is not always great technology. Toyota will over take tesla in time

Just sold my 2021 Rav4 prime plugin and bought the model y. The reason is that it has reached 30kmiles and I don’t want to spend money to do brakes and oil. LoL I guess I don’t have to do none of those with my Tesla
I'll agree to a point, the 2023 Prius looks pretty rad. However, it's infotainment system is nothing to write home about. In modern times, infotainment is a BIG important part of the driving experience. Tesla has that, and more. Makes driving a vehicle fun again, in my opinion, and not just point A to B transportation. Not to mention that juicy traffic aware Autopilot suite.
As someone who bought then immediately sold my Tesla... I can give you the TOP 8 things to do and all 8 of those things are. DON'T BUY A STINKING TESLA!!!!
